    The project examined the impact of teachers’ classroom management practices on students' academic performance in public secondary schools in Nnewi Education Zone of Anambra State. Four research questions were posed for the study while a descriptive survey research design was adopted. The population of for this study consisted of students of all the 48 secondary schools in the study area with a total of 45,432. Simple random sampling was used to select a population size of 1362 respondents drawn from 12 government owned secondary schools in the study area. This study used questionnaire, which was built from the four research questions, for collection of data. The questionnaire contained 24 question items, validated by 3 experts, with a reliability of 0.83 while the data were analyzed using mean. The major findings of the study show that the classroom management practices of teachers exert enormous influence on the academic performance of students. The teachers are well qualified to teach, but some still cannot manage classroom effectively. It was observed that there is an interaction gap between teachers and students which affects the academic performance of students negatively. To this end, the research recommended that seminars and workshop should be organized for teachers to train and acquit them with the necessary classroom management skills and practices, which will go a long to boost the academic performance of students

    GREEN SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF SILVER NANOPARTICLES OBTAINED FROM THYMUS VULGARIS L. HYDROLAT

    The essential oil industry has grown over the last decade and is generating a lot of useful by-productswith diverse industrial applications in food, cosmetics, textile, and more recently in phytosynthesis of metal nanoparticles.GC-MS analysis performed on the hydrolat identified 18 out of the 21 compounds detected, and the major terpenic classwas represented by oxygenated monoterpenes 92.63% (1-octen-3-ol, endo-borneol, carvacrol methyl ether, thymol,carvacrol). Obtaining quasi-spherical silver nanoparticles from hydrolat and 0.1 mM AgNO3 solution was simple,effective, and non-toxic, yielding stable nanoparticles with average particle size under 45 nm. UV-Vis spectroscopyrevealed a strong signal at 438 nm indicating the formation of silver nanoparticles and SEM-EDX analysis revealed thatelemental Ag was detected and confirmed by a strong signal at 3 keV with more than 91% silver

    This article aims to highlight the importance of developingemotional intelligence in preschoolers. Issues addressed in theconcept of emotional intelligence include: expressing emotions,understanding emotions, managing emotions and theirimportance in the child's development. We also emphasize therole of attachment in the relationship between child andcaregiver, as an essential element of education and emotionallyhealthy development. The paper also indicates that caregiversinfluence children's emotional development, representing forthem a model, a "coach", of preschoolers' responses andbehaviors. For educators, it is presented how they can perceiveand process in a social context, the affective manifestations, thenegotiation skills and the expectations of the children, withwhom they interact in kindergarten. Thus, the first aspect of thispaper refers to previous studies in the literature on thedevelopment of emotional intelligence, such as expressingemotions, understanding and managing them, the second aspectpresents the role and implications of the child-educatorrelationship in the emotional development of preschoolers.suggests strategies to promote emotional development inpreschoolers.     DYNAMICS OF ANTIOXIDANT CHARACTER OF EXTRACTS FROM FLAX SEEDS UNDER VARIABLE CONDITIONS

    The antioxidant character of natural extracts is an important indicator of quality. In extracts from flaxseeds, this character is due to a series of biologically active natural compounds. Our experimental design studies the dynamics of antioxidant character due to the variation of three independent variables at two and three levels: solvent composition (ethanol/water 60:40, 80:20, and 100:0 v/v) extraction time (2, 3, and 4 h), and hydrolysis temperature (60 and 80oC). The antioxidant character (dependent variable) of extracts was expressed in the percentage of DPPH inhibition. The polynomial equation obtained by multiple regression analysis indicates that the influence of the three factors on the studied intervals decreases in order: solvent ratio ethanol > extraction time > hydrolysis temperature. In the studied intervals of the variables, the antioxidant character varies between 40.8 - 75.9 % DPPH inhibition. Response surface graphics and calculated nomograms show how much temperature and time can be reduced in the process withoutthe antioxidant character being substantially affected. The experimental design and data processing described herein may constitute a management model of an optimal industrial extraction process from flax seeds

In the present article, we have been focused on the first on-line edition, due to SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, with 2 sessions that were organized by the Faculty of Food Engineering, Tourism and Environmental Protection: (1) Engineering and Environmental Science, Environmental Protection, Biodiversity, Health, Applied Biology, and (2) Food Technology, Food Engineering, Nutrition, Food Quality and Food Security, Agrotourism Management, Sustainability.     Strength Capacity and Body Mass Index Evaluation of Swimmers

    Purpose. Muscle strength is an important component of physical ability. Insports such as swimming, this physical capacity has been increasingly evidentin training programs, thus becoming important for the performance of aquaticpractices. In this context, the aim of this study was to evaluate the strengthcapacity and the body mass index (BMI) of swimmers. Methods. For this, 20swimmers of both sexes with a mean age of 38 ± 2 years were evaluated. Thehandgrip strength (HS) was assessed using a dynamometer and weight andheight for calculating BMI. Results. There were no differences in BMI be- tween genders (men (M): 25±1 kg./cm2; women (W): 24±0.9.kg./cm2. Menhad a higher HS (M: 42±2; W: 29 ± 2 kgf.) There was no correlation betweenthe HS and the BMI of the swimmers (M: r: 0.44; p: 0.19; W: r: 0.34, p:0.30). However, the behavior of the relation of the variables differs betweenthe sexes, in men the HS is higher according to a lower BMI, and in women,the HS is higher according to a higher BMI. referring to HS (M: 8.0±0.2;W: 8.4±0.6). Conclusions. Thus, the results of the present study show thatthe handgrip strength in swimmers is greater in males and does not presentcorrelation with BMI, however it is possible to observe a different behaviorbetween HS and BMI between genders, in men the relationship behavior isnegative and in women the relationship behavior is positive

    Teachers are concerned with training competent students who do not passively receive and process information, they are active participants in the learning process, building meaningful knowledge given by their own previous knowledge and new experiences. Students with well-developed skills to manage their own learning are able to set appropriate learning goals, use their knowledge and skills to direct their own learning and can choose strategies appropriate to their learning tasks. A learning strategy serves to better select information, establishing connections between different elements of the subject or making associations between new and previous knowledge. Learning learning strategies focus on what makes students more active by teaching them how to learn and how to use what they have learned to be successful. In addition to learning strategies, we emphasize the role of motivational strategies for self-regulated learning. Among the determinants of learning orientation are intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, personal or situational interest and goal orientation. These types of motivations are similar in that they determine whether learning is seen by the student as a tool to achieve a goal (e.g., to be promoted) or whether the learning itself is experienced as satisfying, that it extends to knowledge, and skills. Thus, in this study we aim to obtain feedback from students on the quality of teaching-learning-motivation strategies proposed by the content and tasks of the courses taken. The instrument used is a standardized questionnaire to investigate the academic motivation of students - MUSIC. The information we will obtain has the role of identifying the weaknesses and strengths of the teaching-learning-motivation strategies used in order to optimize, improve the quality of educational activities
