STRATEGY AND TACTICS IN FORMAL EDUCATIONAL PROCESS: 10.24250/jpe/1/2022/RMN
The paper is in line with the author's preoccupations for substantiating some theoretical aspects without which the practical activity in the educational field cannot reach real qualitative odds. This time, the approached concepts represent the milestones of the journey from the desire (planed educational process) to the realization (the real results of the educational process). In the first part, a definition of fundamental concepts related to planning/organization and monitoring on different levels of the educational system and process (the strategy with its different connotations, tactics, strategic plan, and implementation) is attempted. The role and importance of the strategic level in the educational reform and curriculum reform are briefly presented in the second part. The relationship between the strategic plan, the tactical/operational one, and the actual implementation is dealt with in the third part, with the emphasis of some considerations with the nuances of conclusions of long-lasting observations on the educational reality. The importance of knowing these theoretical aspects, so that practice does not pay a bitter price for not genuinely focusing on what it declares as a priority, is highlighted in the paper. In a world where the statements seem to be more important than the reality this kind of approach is seen as a necessity
THEORETICAL APPROACH TO A RAPIDLY CHANGING SCHOOL - CRITICAL THEORIES: 10.24250/jpe/1/2022/IN/VP/MN
In modern society, change is very fast and difficult to manage. Students should be prepared for present and future needs. Therefore, the school must change and adapt to modern needs, and the theoretical level of teachers should be raised to the level of critical analysis of possible and best solutions. The concept of school and work in it must be theoretically grounded. Which theory and which concept of teaching and school organization best suits modern needs? A well-didactically educated teacher will use several theories at the same time, depending on the nature of the material, set goals and tasks, so that there is no universal answer. In this paper, we will look at the importance of critical theories because they point out the importance of autonomy and self-determination of students, their emancipatory demands, critical attitude towards social reality, emphasizing solidarity draw attention to current problems in education. In practice, behavioral, cognitive, constructivist, humanistic theories of learning, etc. are also significantly blunted
ENGAGING STUDENTS IN MENTAL HEALTH EDUCATION: 10.24250/JPE/2/2022/GK
The issue of education, especially nowadays, raises many questionsregarding its role in school, at home, in society as well as theability of the educational process to keep up with theunprecedented changes in society, in human life in general. The leap of scientific knowledge has caused an unprecedentedevolution of technology, which has entered human life with theaim of improving important aspects, but we also see itsnegative impact in many ways. The values of the past seem tobe somehow overtaken by the new social challenges! Time hasbecome a precious gift; modern man no longer has enough timeeither for himself or for those close to him. Everything happensat a pace that affects human life as a whole, disrupting familyand social relationships. All this is reflected in the man's abilityto adapt to new challenges, and thus education that equips theindividual with those capabilities that make him able to facethese unprecedented challenges is necessary. The emotionaland somatic impact is mainly reflected in mental health. Thatis why the school and the educational system have the role ofpaying more attention to the field of mental health, raisingawareness of the dangers that can lead to the installation ofmental imbalance, prevention being the prophylactic basis. Inour study, we will emphasize the importance of studying thefield outside specialized schools, identifying certaindeficiencies in education regarding mental health, as well assome important directions to be followed
Effects of COVID-19 Confinement on the Health and Perspectives of Exercise Practice in Portugal
Introduction: Social confinement, imposed by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, was an extraordinary situation and implied several consequences onpeople’s health, which are still not fully understood. This study aimed to understand the changes in mental health and to determine the probability ofreturning to sports practice during the period of generalized confinement andlockdown due to COVID-19, between January and March 2021. Methods:A self-administered on online survey (PEF-COVID19) was applied to thegeneral Portuguese population, aged 18 years. The t-test for paired samplesand the chi-square test were used to analyze the variables, p < 0.05. Results:811 participants filled the questionnaire and 666 were included. Our studyshowed that during confinement: (i) there was an increase of anxiety (before- M= 3.1 ± 2.1; during – M= 4.3 ± 2.7) and stress (before – M = 3.1 ± 2.5;during – M= 4.1 ± 3) and (ii) a greater probability of dropping out sportspractice (before – M = 1.1 ± 2; during – M= 7.5 ± 3.3).Conclusions: Theresults demonstrate that the period of confinement and lockdown, significantly influenced health and the intention to remain practicing sports. These indicators demonstrate the need to develop quality sports/exercise programs, adjusted to different target groups, especially the most vulnerable, to keepthe population active, reduce sedentary time and the consequent impacts onmental and physical health
PERCEPTION OF THE ACADEMIC ENVIRONMENT FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF STUDENTS' PERSONALITY TRAITS: 10.24250/jpe/1/2022/CI
The present study sought to investigate the relationship betweenstudents' personality traits and how they perceive the variousaspects associated with academic activities. Previous researchindicated the importance of the perception as a mediator ofpersonality in the relationship that students form with therequirements of the academic environment. In view of this commonaspect and seeking further clarification of these relationships, thepresent study will investigate with a different questionnaire thepersonality traits in an attempt to obtain information with potentialapplication. For this reason, the hypothesis of this research is:Students' perceptions of academic activities and interaction withteachers are associated with the presence of personality traits. Thisstudy envisages a cross-sectional design aimed at conducting acorrelational type of research. The sample in question was avoluntary group of first-year students from several specializations. The results obtained did not indicate worrying values of the meansfor the analyzed personality traits but the analysis of thecorrelations between perceptions and personality traits led to theconfirmation of the hypothesis highlighting a diverse picture ofstatistically significant correlation indices. After analyzing andinterpreting the results, beyond the limitations of the study, theconclusion is that students' personality traits are associated withtheir perceptions and that different personalities focus on largelydifferent aspects
LINGUISTIC INTELLIGENCE: PSYCHOLINGUISTIC, LINGUISTIC CREATIVITY & METACOMMUNICATION: 10.24250/jpe/1/2022/fp
This Psychology article presents the theoretical-conceptual modelsthat characterizes the keys to understanding and to study mentalcapacity and communication skills, useful in being able to knowand analyses Linguistic Intelligence. Studies on thedevelopment of Linguistic Intelligence have been conductedpredominantly by the following disciplines:- Neurolinguistics that led to the formulation of mentalimaginative insights as the fundamental conception of theLinguistic Generative Intelligence model,- Social Cognitive Psychology that led to the formulation ofmental evolutionary adaptation as a fundamental principle ofthe Linguistic Constructive Intelligence model;- Psychology of Communication that led to the formulation ofcontinuous, dynamic and interactive relationship of thecommunication cycle as a fundamental axiom of theCommunication Sciences.Linguistic Intelligence is determined by typical forms ofthinking and reasoning, which adopt particular mental abilitiesand specific expressive competences with respect to othercommunication codes, such as the graphic-pictorial, the mimicgestural, the musical, etc.The structures, properties, and expressions of LinguisticIntelligence, that characterize the conception, construction andformalization of verbal or written communications betweenpeople, can be analysed on the basis of three different fields ofstudies:A) PSYCHOLINGUISTIC: study the psychologicalcharacteristics and rules of codification and decoding oflanguage, in the psycho-cognitive-pragmatic field of study oflinguistic communication).
PsychoLinguistics is connoted by 4 models: StructuralistCognitivism, Empirical Taxonomy, GenerativeNeurolinguistics, Linguistic Metacommunication;B) LINGUISTIC CREATIVITY: acts in the psycho-ideativefield of study of linguistic communication. The Creativity is determined by the mental processes ofConstructive Intelligence andGenerative Intelligence. The mental processes that characterize Creativity are: theGlobal Perception, thePersonalizing Insights, the Multifaceted Vision, the CognitiveOriginality;C) LINGUISTIC METACOMMUNICATION: study the typesand modes people use to express thoughts and concepts that gobeyond, beyond, what the cognitive and affective contents meanat the level of language and communicative message in thepsycho- emotional and socio-cultural field of study of linguisticcommunication.Linguistic Metacommunication is determined by mentalsymbols (cultural symbols and psychic symbols) that the personprocesses and expresses during communication
EFFICACY OF PSYCHODRAMA THERAPY IN PATIENTS WITH SEVERE MAJOR DEPRESSIVE DISORDERS: A RANDOMIZED PILOT STUDY.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of psychodrama psychotherapy compared with treatment-as-usual for patients diagnosed with severe major depressive disorder (MDD) in an inpatient setting. The sample included 30 patients with severe unipolar depression, randomly divided into a study group (N=15) participating in a psychodrama intervention in addition to the routine hospital protocol and a control group (N=15) participating only in the routine hospital protocol. Clinical assessment was performed with the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI-II), the Montgomery-Åsberg Depression Rating Scale (MADRS) and the Zung Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS). The results of the study showed a decrease in depressive and anxiety symptoms as measured by MADRS, BDI and SAS, and this decrease was significantly greater for the psychodrama intervention group. Limitations of the present study, as well as implications for clinical treatment and research, are discussed
THE PERCEPTION OF FREEDOM-DEPRIVED PEOPLE IN SOCIETY AFTER THEIR LIBERATION
The study comprised in this paper aimed at identifying the way the freedom-deprived people are perceived when they try to reenter society after their liberation. The research covered a number of 60 subjects and based on this study we found out the terms under which the vast majority of freedom-deprived people want to reintegrate in society, as well as the labor market, by all means. The outcome of the study proves that when the ex-convicts do not face issues after their liberation and are not discriminated against on the labor market, the chances for their reinsertion and the shortness of time in which they are able to find a workplace increase, whereas in the situations when the employers refuse to deal with ex-convicts, the introduction of a supervising program carried out by a specialized unit is advisable. In the end, all the hypotheses we started from were confirmed by means of applying questionnaires to the subjects.
The most important conclusion drawn based on the analysis of the hypotheses is that freedom-deprived people want to step over the threshold of social development
