Flora of Archaeological Landscape: Case Study of Arslantepe Mound and Its Territory
2nd International Conference on Urban Regeneration and Sustainability, URS 2020 -- 7 October 2020 through 8 October 2020 -- 282169Floristic research plays a key role in understanding archaeological landscapes. Floristic studies provide important information for archaeological research, for understanding the diet of societies to determining agricultural activities of the periods. With the data obtained as a result of archaeobotanical studies in recent years, important findings regarding the general flora character of archaeological landscapes have been reached. As of today, the floristic balance of current archaeological landscape is changing as the existing vegetation is destroyed in archaeological sites where excavations are continuing. Based on this, in this paper, current flora of Arslantepe Mound and its territory was examined. The aim of this paper is to determine the plant biodiversity of the study area and to identify the sensitive areas with endemic species. Within the boundaries of the study area, 440 samples were collected between August 2018 and August 2019. As a result of identification of collected samples and evaluation of plants registered in the literature, 704 taxa (681 species, 13 subspecies, 10 variate) belonging to 384 genera and 90 families were determined. 65 of the total species are endemic in the area. The phytogeographic regions of only 233 species out of the collected material have been identified; Irano-Turanian 184, Mediterranean 38, Euro-Siberian 11. The rest 471 species of the total are either pluriregional or phytogeographically unknown. Two species belong to Pteridophyte whereas 702 species belong to Spermatophyta. Within the area, gymnosperms have 16 species and angiosperms have 686 species. Dicotyledons and monocotyledons have 586 and 100 species, respectively, in the Angiosperms. The largest families identified in the study area are as follows: Fabaceae 67, Brassicaceae 65, Asteraceae 58, Poaceae 54, and Lamiaceae 53. The largest genera in the study area are as follows: Alyssum 12, Euphorbia 12, Astragalus 10, Medicago 10, and Trifolium 7. Endemic species located within the study area within the scope of the findings obtained as a result of the floristic research, deployment areas, and endangered species have been identified. Assessment in online education during the COVID-19 pandemic: from the perspective of university instructors
Educational activities, including assessment have continued globally in the form of emergency remote education since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of this study is to explore university instructors’ opinions about assessment methods in online education during the COVID-19 pandemic. Case study design was employed in line with the research questions. Data were collected from 199 instructors working at different universities in Turkey via a questionnaire developed by the researchers. Content analysis was applied to analyze the data. The results revealed that instructors’ most frequently applied methods were homework, multiple-choice tests, presentations, open-ended questions, and projects. Instructors encountered problems such as inadequate level of ICT access, reliability issues, infrastructural inadequacy of institutions, institutional enforcement, requiring more effort for instructor, difficulties in applied courses, and rapid transition to online education. Instructors’ preferences toward assessment were to change the assessment methods and revert to traditional methods as well as increase student engagement and integrate ICT. The results of this study reveal the opinions of instructors about remote assessment and inform practitioners about the applied methods, possible problems, and preferences that may help others adapt quickly to remote assessment
Effects of vesical i?maging reporting and data system (VIRADS) on the clinical diagnosis and treatment in multiparametric magnetic resonance i?maging i?n bladder tumors
Amaç: Mesane kanseri hastalarında tümörün lokal evrelendirmesi için preoperatif mpMRG (multiparametrik manyetik rezonans görüntüleme) yöntemi ile değerlendirmeyi ve histopatolojik sonuçlarla karşılaştırarak klinik etkinliğini göstermeyi amaçladık. Gereç ve Yöntem: Çalışmaya Kasım 2020 ile Nisan 2022 tarihleri arasında mesane tümörü ön tanısı ile sistoskopi planlanan ve daha önce mesane tümörü tanısı almış rezidü tümörü olan 63 hasta dahil edildi. Bu hastalar preoperatif mpMRG yöntemi ile T2 ağırlıklı (T2A) görüntüleme, difüzyon ağırlıklı görüntüleme (DAG), dinamik kontrastlı görüntüleme (DKG) sekansları birlikte değerlendirildi. Tüm MR görüntüleri 'Vesical Imaging Reporting And Data System' (VIRADS) kriterlerine göre incelendi. Tüm lezyonlar 5 kategoriden oluşan VIRADS skorlarına göre sınıflandırıldı. Daha sonra hastalardan alınan biyopsiler histopatolojik olarak incelendi ve radyolojik bulgularla karşılaştırıldı. Bulgular: Çalışmaya dahil edilen 63 hastanın 60'ı erkek, 3'ü kadın hasta ve yaş ortalaması 64,2±10,55 olarak hesaplandı. Hastaların 41'i primer mesane tümörü ve 22 hasta nüks mesane tümörü, rezidü tümörü olan ve/veya radikal sistektomi planlanan hasta grubunda yer aldı. VIRADS skoru >3 olan tümörler kasa invaze olarak gruplandırıldığında 63 hastanın 53'ü (%84) radyolojik olarak invaziv mesane tümörü olarak değerlendirildi. Fakat histopatolojik olarak 33 (%52,4) hastada invaziv mesane tümörü saptandı. Bu çalışmada duyarlılık %100, özgüllük %33, negatif öngörü değeri %100, pozitif öngörü değeri %62 olarak hesaplandı. Ayrıca bu çalışma sonucunda VIRADS skorunun kas invazyonunu saptamadaki öngörüsü ile tümör hacmi arasındaki korelasyonun anlamlı olmadığı saptandı (p değeri 0,529). Sonuç: Çalışmamızın sonuçlarına göre ameliyat öncesi mesane kanseri evrelemesi klinik tanı ve tedavi yaklaşımı açısından önemlidir. MpMRG kullanılarak elde edilen VIRADS skorlama sisteminin özellikle mesane kas invazyonu olmadığını saptamada başarılı bir yöntemdir. Mesane tümörlerinde kasa invazyonu saptamadaki başarısı daha fazla yapılacak çalışmalar ile tanısal verimliliğin artırılabileceği bir yöntemdir. Anahtar Kelimeler: Mesane kanseri, VIRADS, kas invazyonuObjective: The aim of our study is to determine the local staging of the tumor in bladder cancer patients with preoperatively mpMRI (multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging) method and to show its clinical effectiveness by comparing it with histopathological results. Materials and Methods: Between November 2020 and April 2022, 63 patients who were planned cystoscopy with preliminary diagnosis of bladder cancer and previously diagnosed with bladder cancer included in the study. Preoperatively, these patients were evaluated together with T2-weighted (T2W) imaging, diffusion-weighted imaging (DAG), and dynamic contrast imaging (DKG) sequences with mpMRI method. All MRI images were examined according to the criteria of "Vesical Imaging Reporting and Data System" (VIRADS). All lesions were classified according to VIRADS scores consisting of 5 categories. Afterwards, biopsies obtained from the patients were examined histopathological and compared with radiological findings. Results: Of the 63 patients included in the study, 60 were (%95,2) male and 3 were (%4,8) female. The age of the patients ranged from 22 to 89 years, with a mean age of 64,2 years. 41 of the patients were included in the group of patients with primary bladder tumor and 22 patients with recurrent bladder tumor, residual tumor and/or who planned radical cystectomy. When tumors that VIRADS score >3 were grouped as muscle invasive, 53 patients (%84) were radiologically evaluated as invasive bladder tumor. However, according to the histopathological results, invasive bladder tumor was detected in 33 (52.4%) patients. In this study, sensitivity was calculated as 100%, specificity 33%, negative predictive value 100%, positive predictive value 62%. In addition, as a result in this study, it is concluded that there is not significant positive relationship between the prediction of the VIRADS score in detecting muscle invasion and tumor volume (p value 0,529). Conclusion: According to the results of our study, preoperatively, bladder cancer staging is important in terms of clinical diagnosis and treatment approach. The VIRADS scoring system obtained by using MpMRI is a successful method, especially in detecting non-muscle invasive bladder tumor, and also its successful in detecting muscle invasion is a method in which diagnostic efficiency can be increased with further studies. The effect of foot massage applied to patients undergoing hemodialysis on their sleep quality and fatigue level
Amaç: Bu araştırma, hemodiyaliz hastalarına yapılan ayak masajının uyku kalitesi ve yorgunluk düzeyine etkisini belirlemek amacıyla yapıldı. Materyal ve Metot: Randomize kontrollü olarak yapılan bu araştırmanın evrenini iki hastanenin HD ünitesinde tedavi alan 97 hasta oluşturdu. Araştırma deney grubu (36) ve kontrol grubu (37) olmak üzere 73 hasta ile tamamlandı. Araştırma verileri, Hasta Tanıtım Formu, PUKİ ve PYÖ kullanılarak Ağustos 2021-Şubat 2022 tarihleri arasında toplandı. Deney grubundaki hastalara Hasta Tanıtım Formu, PYÖ ve PUKİ ilk görüşmede ve ayak masajı yapıldıktan sonra 2. ve 4. haftanın sonunda tekrar uygulandı. Kontrol grubundaki hastalara da ilk görüşmede, 2. ve 4. haftanın sonunda uygulandı. Deney grubundaki hastalara dört hafta boyunca haftada üç kez, 12 seans, 10 dakika ayak masajı yapıldı. Kontrol grubundaki hastalara herhangi bir girişim yapılmadı. Bulgular: Deney grubunun ayak masajı sonrası PYÖ tüm alt boyut ve PYÖ toplam puan ortalamalarında meydana gelen azalmanın anlamlı olduğu (p<0.05), kontrol grubunun ise izlem süresince PYÖ davranış, duyusal ve bilişsel alt boyut puan ortalamalarında meydana gelen azalmanın anlamlı olduğu (p<0.05), ancak PYÖ duygulanım alt boyut ve PYÖ toplam puan ortalamasındaki azalmanın ise anlamlı olmadığı belirlendi (p˃0.05). Deney grubunun ayak masajı sonrası PUKİ toplam ve tüm alt boyut puan ortalamalarında meydana gelen değişimin anlamlı olduğu (p<0.05), kontrol grubunun ise PUKİ toplam ve tüm alt boyut puan ortalamalarında meydana gelen değişimin anlamlı olmadığı belirlendi (p˃0.05). Sonuç: Hemodiyaliz hastalarına yapılan ayak masajının yorgunluğu azalttığı ve uyku kalitesini arttırdığı belirlendi. Anahtar Kelimler: Ayak masajı, hemodiyaliz, hemşirelik, uyku kalitesi, yorgunluk.Aim: The aim of this study is to determine the effect of foot massage applied to patients undergoing hemodialysis on their sleep quality and fatigue level. Material and Method: The population of this randomized controlled study consisted of 97 patients receiving treatment in the HD unit of two hospitals. The study was completed with 73 patients, who were assigned to the experimental group (36) and the control group (37). The data were collected between August 2021 and February 2022 using the Patient Information Form, PSQI, and PFS. In the experimental group, the Patient Information Form, PFS, and PSQI were applied at the first interview and again at the end of the 2nd and 4th weeks after foot massage. It was applied to the patients in the control group at the first interview and at the end of the 2nd and 4th weeks. The patients in the experimental group were subjected to foot massage for 10 minutes three times a week for four weeks (in 12 sessions). No intervention was performed on the patients in the control group. Results: It was found that the decrease in the mean scores of all subscales of PFS and PFS total mean score and its subscales after the foot massage was significant in the experimental group (p<0.05). In the control group, the decrease in the mean scores of the behavioral, sensory, and cognitive subscales of PFS during the follow-up was significant (p<0.05); however, the decrease in the PFS affective subscale and PFS total mean score was not significant (p˃0.05). It was determined that while the change in the PSQI total mean score and mean scores of all subscales after the foot massage was significant in the experimental group (p<0.05), the change in the PSQI total mean score and mean scores of all subscales was not significant in the control group (p˃0.05). Conclusion: It was determined that foot massage applied to patients undergoing hemodialysis reduced their fatigue and enhanced their sleep quality. Benzimidazole-based N-heterocyclic carbene silver complexes as catalysts for the formation of carbonates from carbon dioxide and epoxides
A series of left-to-right inequivalent 1,3-disubstituted benzimidazolium halide pro-ligands having the general formula [(BNHCCH2OxMe)-B-R][X] (R = 3-Me-Bn, 3,5-Me-2-Bn, 2,4,6-Me-3-Bn, 2,3,5,6-Me-4-Bn, 2,3,4,5,6-Me-5-Bn, 3,4,5-(OMe)(3)-Bn, or 4-Bu-t-Bn; X = Cl, Br) were synthesized by the alkylation of 1-((3-methyloxetan-3-yl)methyl)benzimidazole. The corresponding Ag complexes, ((BNHCCH2OxMe)-B-R) AgX, were prepared following pro-ligand addition to Ag2O. These compounds were characterized using spectroscopic techniques such as FT-IR, NMR spectroscopy, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The solid-state structure of ((3-Me-BnBNHCCH2OxMe))AgCl revealed a linear monomer while [((2,4,6-Me3-BnBNHCCH2OxMe))AgCl](2) was found to exist as a dimer with pseudo trigonal planar geometry about each metal center. The synthesized ((BNHCCH2OxMe)-B-R)AgX complexes were found to be efficient for the addition of carbon dioxide to epoxides to yield value-added cyclic carbonates at ambient pressure. Podobieństwo glebowego banku nasion i aktualnego zachwaszczenia łanu pszenicy ozimej w różnych systemach produkcji rolnej
The aim of the research was a comparison of soil seed bank, formed by the influence of different crop production systems (organic, integrated, conventional and monoculture of winter wheat) with weed infestation in the winter wheat. The study was conducted at the Experimental Station of the Institute of Soil Science and Plant Cultivation – State Research Institute in Osiny (Lublin province), where these crop production systems, characterised by different crop rotations and agricultural practices, have been compared since 1994. The assessment included the analysis of weed species composition and the number of weeds in winter wheat cultivated in different crop production systems as well as the weed seed stock in the 0–20 cm soil layer under winter wheat. The soil seed bank and winter wheat infestation was analysed using ecological indices: Shannon's diversity index (H') and Simpson's dominance index (SI).
The number of weed seed species in the soil was higher than the number of weed species in a winter wheat canopy in all compared systems. The difference between the number of species in a canopy and in the soil was the smallest in the organic system. The monoculture of winter wheat was characterised by the lowest diversity of weed flora and soil seed bank. Shannon and Simpson indices showed the bigger similarity between soil seed bank and weed infestation in the organic system and the lowest in conventional one and monoculture. Zmiany zawartości cukrów w bulwach ziemniaka pod wpływem herbicydu i biostymulatorów
The research material consisted of potato tubers harvested from a three-year field experiment, set up in three replicates using the split-plot method. The first experimental factor consisted of two cultivars ‘Malaga’ and ‘Oberon’, and the second factor were five application of herbicide and biostimulants: 1. control object – without herbicide and biostimulants; 2. the herbicide Avatar 293 ZC; 3. the herbicide Avatar 293 ZC and the biostimulant PlonoStart; 4. the herbicide Avatar 293 ZC and the biostimulant Aminoplant; 5. the herbicide Avatar 293 ZC and the biostimulant Agro-Sorb Folium. The content of total sugars, reducing sugars and sucrose in the fresh mass of tubers was determined using the Schoorl-Luff method. The cultivar ‘Oberon’ contained significantly less total sugars, reducing sugars and sucrose than the cultivar ‘Malaga’. Herbicide Avatar 293 ZC used with the PlonoStart and Agro-Sorb Folium biostimulants, decreased the amount of total sugars in potato tubers, compared with control tubers.Materiał badawczy stanowiły bulwy ziemniaka zebrane z trzyletniego doświadczenia polowego założonego w trzech powtórzeniach metodą split-plot. Pierwszy czynnik stanowiły dwie odmiany jadalne ‘Malaga’ i ‘Oberon’. Drugim czynnikiem było pięć sposobów aplikacji herbicydu i biostymulatorów: 1. obiekt kontrolny – bez herbicydu i biostymulatorów; 2. herbicyd Avatar 293 ZC; 3. herbicyd Avatar 293 ZC i biostymulator PlonoStart; 4. herbicyd Avatar 293 ZC i biostymulator Aminoplant; 5. herbicyd Avatar 293 ZC i biostymulator Agro-Sorb Folium. W świeżej masie bulw oznaczono zawartość cukrów ogółem, cukrów redukujących i sacharozy metodą Schoorla-Luffa. Odmiana ‘Oberon’ zawierała istotnie mniej cukrów ogółem, cukrów redukujących i sacharozy niż ‘Malaga’. Chemiczna regulacja zachwaszczenia nie miała wpływu na zawartość cukrów ogółem, miała tylko aplikacja wymienionych biopreparatów
Efektywność produkcyjna i ekonomiczna w uprawie truskawki (Fragaria × ananassa Duch.) w zależności od metody produkcji
The aim of the research was to evaluate the production and economic efficiency of the cultivation of three strawberry varieties depending on the two cultivation methods used (organic and conventional). The research was conducted in 2018–2020 in eight horticultural farms cultivating strawberries for processing purposes in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship. The analysis of the production efficiency was based on the obtained levels of yields, while the analysis of the economic efficiency was carried out using selected measures, i.e. the production value, direct surplus, net income and the production profitability index. The research revealed that, generally higher yields in the analysed farms were obtained on plantations managed using the organic method than on those based on the conventional one. Moreover, irrespective of the production method, the highest yields were obtained in the first year and the lowest in the last year of harvests. Also irrespective of the production method, higher yields were obtained from the cultivation of the Dipred variety compared to the other varieties. The overall production costs, due to a significant share of labour and plant protection costs, were higher in the organic farms than in the conventional ones. Wpływ wielkości gniazd na wzrost dębu szypułkowego w drzewostanach zagospodarowanych rębnią gniazdową częściową
The aim of the study was to determine the effect of the gap size on the growth of pedunculate oak in two forest habitat types (fresh mixed coniferous forest BMśw and fresh forest Lśw). The research was carried out in the Świdnik Forest District. Measurements were made for 12, 20, 25, 50 ares gaps. The growth traits were measured on the designated sample plots and the habit form of the crown and slenderness coefficient was assessed.
The results of the research show that the growth traits of oaks within gaps differed between the analyzed habitats. In each case, the higher trees were found in the Lśw habitat. Correlation analysis showed a significant relationship between the gap size and the height of the oaks growing in them. The Spearman correlation coefficient for the Lśw habitat was 0.301, and for the BMśw habitat 0.695. In both habitats, the highest growth was achieved by oaks on gaps of 20 and 25 ares sized. Taking into account both parameters it can be stated that the most optimal growth conditions are in middle size gaps.
Regardless of the habitat and the gap size, the artificial regeneration oaks growing in the eastern and central part of the gaps was characterized by the highest height. The results of the research on the habit form in both habitats indicate that almost half of the trees were oaks with broad-crowned crowns. The remaining forms accounted for about twice less trees.Celem pracy było określenie wpływu wielkości powierzchni gniazd na wzrost dębu szypułkowego na dwóch typach siedliskowych lasu (bór mieszany świeży BMśw oraz las świeży Lśw). Badania przeprowadzono na terenie Nadleśnictwa Świdnik. Pomiary dębów wykonano na gniazdach 12, 20, 25, 50 arowych. W każdym z nich na wyznaczonych powierzchniach próbnych pomierzono cechy wzrostowe oraz oceniono formę pokrojową i współczynnik smukłości dębu szypułkowego.
Wyniki badań wskazują, że cechy wzrostowe dębów na gniazdach różnią się pomiędzy analizowanymi siedliskami. W każdym przypadku wyższe i grubsze drzewka występowały na siedlisku Lśw. Analiza korelacji wykazała istotną zależność pomiędzy wielkością gniazd a wysokością rosnących w nich dębów. Współczynnik korelacji Spearmana dla siedliska Lśw przyjął wartość 0.301, a dla BMśw 0.695. Na obu siedliskach najniższą smukłość osiągały dęby na gniazdach 20 i 25 arowych. Biorąc pod uwagę oba analizowane parametry można stwierdzić, że dla wzrostu tego gatunku najbardziej optymalne są gniazda średniej wielkości.
Bez względu na siedlisko i wielkość gniazda największą wysokością cechowało się odnowienie sztuczne rosnące we wschodniej i centralnej części gniazda. Wyniki przeprowadzonych badań nad formą pokrojową na obu siedliskach wskazują, że prawie połowę drzew stanowiły dęby o koronach rozłożystych. Pozostałe formy stanowiły około dwukrotnie mniejszą liczbę drzew
Wpływ preparatów biologicznych Azofix i Maxprolin oraz nawożenia azotem na zawartość azotu mineralnego w glebie w okresie intensywnego wzrostu i po zbiorze pszenicy jarej
The objective of the research reported here was to determine the effect of Azofix and Maxprolin against nitrogen fertiliser on mineral nitrogen content in the soil during the period of intensive growth of spring wheat plants and after its harvest. The following two factors were chosen: I. Biological products: control, Azofix, Maxprolin, Azofix + Maxprolin; II. Nitrogen fertilisation: non-fertilised control, 60 kg N ha–1, 90 kg N ha–1, 90 kg N ha–1 + foliar fertilisation. During the period of intensive growth of spring wheat plants and after harvesting, mineral nitrogen content in the soil was determined. The research demonstrated that, during the period of their intensive growth, spring wheat plants had access to the largest amount of mineral nitrogen in the topsoil following treatment with Azofix + Maxprolin and an application of the nitrogen rate of 90 kg N ha–1.Celem przedstawionych badań było określenie wpływu bakterii azotowych Azotobacter vinelandii, aminokwasu L-alfa proliny w stosunku do azotowego nawozu mineralnego, na zawartość azotu mineralnego w glebie w okresie intensywnego wzrostu roślin pszenicy jarej oraz po jej zbiorze. Wybrano dwa czynniki: I. produkty biologiczne: kontrola, Azotobacter vinelandii, L-alfa prolina, Azotobacter vinelandii + L-alfa prolina; II. nawożenie azotem mineralnym: kontrola nienawożona, 60 kg Nּha-1, 90 kg Nּha-1, 90 kg Nּha-1 + nawożenie dolistne. W okresie intensywnego wzrostu roślin pszenicy jarej oraz po zbiorze oznaczono zawartość azotu mineralnego w glebie. Badania wykazały, że w okresie intensywnego wzrostu, rośliny pszenicy jarej miały dostęp do największej ilości azotu mineralnego w wierzchniej warstwie gleby po zastosowaniu Azotobacter vinelandii + L-alfa proliny oraz zastosowanie dawki azotu mineralnego 90 kg Nּha-1, któremu towarzyszyło zmniejszone wymywanie azotu do głębszych warstw gleby
