    Biological index of Benthic insects in Pilan River, Santa Cruz, Davao del Sur

    This study aimed to identify the different benthic insects that are present in Pilan River Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur. Benthic insects are said to be organisms that do not have backbones but are considered as indicator species of water quality on their habitat. In conducting the research, qualitative and quantitative approaches were employed in discriminating and describing the samples. There were total of 263 individuals under 11 taxa in the upstream and 439 individuals under eight (8) taxa in the downstream of Pilan River wherein the physical and chemical parameters were also taken for observation. Specimens were cleared and examined to identify their family and morphological features as well as the pollution tolerance index they indicate. The research results showed the water quality status of the upstream and downstream of the river is on its very good condition. The research also found the diversity and abundance of insects on the habitat and also the factors that affect the species assemblage’s variations on the river

    Projecting college and Grade 11 students’ population of UMDC for the SY 2016-2017

    This study applied a coherent use of time-series analysis and survey to forecast and project trends in the expected population of students in the UM Digos College. The study emphasized the movements of enrollment trends of college students and a survey to create a projection of school and field preferences of upcoming Grade 11 students. The basic and logical method of forecasting was used to provide coherent and explainable results for forecasting college students\u27 population. These methods were average and ratio analysis, regression analysis, and naive method of forecasting. Survey method and analysis were used to create a projection on Grade 11 students in UMDC for the SY 2016-2017. Combining the results from both projections in forecasted values of college students and the expected number of Grade 11 students would create another projection for the expected total number of UMDC students for the SY 2016-2017

    This study entitled, "Uncovering the Covered: Factors Affecting Public Service of Barangay Officials in Brgy. Tres de Mayo, Digos City," is concerned with developing the relationship between the citizens of the barangay and public servants. Since it has been obscurity as to why many citizens are interested in engaging in politics, thus obtaining what motives these people is the key to the study. The outcome of this study would notify the people on the motives of their barangay officials in being public servants and would serve as their basis in choosing their next barangay Officials. This could be helpful for such official to revisit their motives in being a public servant. As for students, this can be a source of information in determining the factors that affect any public official\u27s public service in the government. The study used validated questions to secure responses and was designed to obtain information on the factors affecting barangay officials towards public service. In conclusion, the officials aim to provide quality service and contribute adequate assistance to the people, help and serve even if it dedicates almost all their time for the betterment of the community and create good deeds for the community and at the same time, to develop the community

    Preference-driven codesign for a massive multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) for Digos City gamers

    The purpose of this study was to determine the gamers’ preference for massive multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPG) of internet shops in Digos City. A descriptive-causative type of research was used to describe the five attributes and categories of massive multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPG) by getting the utility of the combinations of attributes: theme, strategy, social interaction, weapon, and dynamics. It was found out that the average age of an MMORPG player aged 20.34 years, playing MMORPG in 6.08 hours, uses social media in an average of 6.82 hours, and spends an average of Php 68.07 for playing MMORPG. Besides, most of the respondents are males (58%), and almost all are single (94%). In terms of influence, gamers who did not influence playing were more dominant (56%) than those influenced by someone (44%). Conjoint analysis reveals that a game\u27s dynamics is the most important attribute for the gamers\u27 preference for MMORPG, followed by dynamics are the theme, social interaction and weapon, and strategy. The highest preference for MMORPG is a combination of battle-type themes, with upgraded weapons and played by the team, and the social interaction is present with a magical dynamic. Lastly, the age and influence of someone in playing MMORPG were significant predictors of gamers\u27 utility for a massive multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG)

    Campus Navigation with Information System

    The study\u27s purpose was to implement a navigation system developed in a mobile application. This application acts as a road map to all different areas and information within the school. It leads students to experience the new way of searching to schedule a room most easily. Part of this research is to develop a system that will resolve the students\u27 problems in guiding them to the exact location of a specific area. The navigation systems view and allow users to find their way speedily and effortless. These systems are best used when exploring the campus and searching the assigned schedule. The navigation system ensures that each piece of information in the application is accurate
