The article describes in detail some derivational elements involved in the process of agglutination occurring in word-formation system of modern Russian, analyzing semantic and functional characteristics of these word-building elements. The comprehensive analysis of the collected hybrid derivatives shows that globalization and the Anglo-American ‘linguistic hegemony’ increased the productivity of international morphemes, penetrating into the Russian word-formation system through the mass media. Modern Russian language has been undergoing noticeable changes in word-formation models and in the inventory of actively productive derivational affixes. The following processes are noticeable: 1) resemantization and activation of international affixes; 2) development of new hybrid derivative models; 3) creation with the help of morphemes abstracted from composites new formally and semantically condensed nouns, which allows to notice an agglutination’s tendency. The article describes in detail some derivational elements involved in the process of agglutination occurring in word-formation system of modern Russian, analyzing semantic and functional characteristics of these word-building elements. This essay aims at analysing and illustrating a segment of the post-Soviet short fiction of the contemporary Russian writer Vladimir Tuchkov. It specifically discusses his collection of very short stories And he earned many dollars…: New Russian fairy-tales. These short stories exemplify many characteristics of Tuchkov’s oeuvre more generally. The discussion analyses the satirical contents of these miniature fictions, which the author places in the tradition of the Russian classics and of Russian folklore, within the theoretical context of parody, pastiche, intertextuality, and folklore. Tuchkov’s short narratives create a de-familiarised, quasi-mythological space where pre-modern, Soviet, and post-Soviet times converge. This results in the critical, satirical foregrounding of certain continuities in Russian culture, society, and mentality throughout the centuries despite the enormous political and social change, which it has experienced, as much as constituting, like Russia’s traditional fables, a critical and satirical engagement with contemporary social reality in Russia. The contribution examines the specific intertextuality with a satirical folkloristic genre as a literary expression, which reverberates with a post-Soviet readership, given its inherent concern with social structures. It is suggested that the employment of these concepts and literary forms in this combination serves to reinforce their overall effect of creating a hyperbolised, satirical representation of social reality. This essay aims at analysing and illustrating a segment of the post-Soviet short fiction of the contemporary Russian writer Vladimir Tuchkov. The paper deals with the specifics of outsiders’ laughter in the book Unknown letters (Неизвестные письма/Unbekannte Briefe, Russian 2014, German 2017) by a Russian-German writer Oleg Yuryev. In particular, it analyzes how Russian cultural and historical traumas of the 20th century were reinterpreted in the book from the perspective of an ironical outsider. In doing so, it focuses on a fictional letter by the writer Leonid Dobychin, which is contextualized with fictional letters of Jakob Michael Reinhold Lenz and Ivan Pryzhov, representing previous historical and cultural periods. Yuryev’s ironic reflections on the Russian historical reality and literary scene of the 20th century manifest themselves at different levels, from the positioning of outsiders’ laughter in relation to the official and marginal hierarchies of the literary canon to the postmodernist play with the traditions of literary classics. In addition, the paper addresses the inter- and/or transcultural aspect of outsiders’ laughter in Yuryev’s book. The paper deals with the specifics of outsiders’ laughter in the book Unknown letters (Неизвестные письма/Unbekannte Briefe, Russian 2014, German 2017) by a Russian-German writer Oleg Yuryev. This study focuses on the translation of Vsevolod Nekrasov’s poetry into Czech. However, it also considers the more general question of whether it is possible to transpose poetry full of delicate humour, hidden allusions, codes and ciphers into another language in such a way that the reader would not be deprived of the aesthetic impression of the original. Nekrasov’s creative and playful poetry poses, at the same time, serious questions and contains hidden messages that should not be ignored by the translator either. The study also points out and demonstrates, using particular examples, that in the process of translation the translator must take the responsibility for the interpretation of the text and must “determine” it to certain extent. This subjective prism then becomes an indispensable part of the reception of translation in the target language area. Specifically, in case of Nekrasov’s poetry, the translator must, besides usual difficulties, face also other challenges, such as the translation of neologisms or uncommon realia, which form the basic elements of his verses. This study focuses on the translation of Vsevolod Nekrasov’s poetry into Czech. The author of this paper defines the aspectual paradigms of Russian verbs as such grammatical structures whose formal aspect is correlated with the conceptual one, therefore being its cognitive counterpart. With a view to analysing these paradigms he uses the theory of markedness as an analytic tool. According to it, the grammatical changes that occur in natural languages originate from general principles of naturalness which are typologically relevant. They result in morphological shifts that are linked to the verbalisation of Russian aspectual paradigms and allow to predict the direction of their development. In particular, the principle of natural grammatical development should be considered crucial. It means that the grammatical changes in natural languages cause elimination of marked elements, so that these more complex linguistic structues are replaced with less complex ones. Such a principle manifests an unconscious desire of language users to minimise their linguistic efforts, as it would place an additional burden on interpersonal communication. The author of this paper defines the aspectual paradigms of Russian verbs as such grammatical structures whose formal aspect is correlated with the conceptual one, therefore being its cognitive counterpart. The collection of poetic translations of King David’s Psalms, compiled by Symeon of Polatsk, is usually used in the scientific discourse under the descriptive title Psaltir’ rifmotvornaya. In this article, King David’s Psalter (1680) of Symeon is considered not in the context of the poet’s entire creative heritage, but in terms of the evolution of the European book tradition of paraliturgical discursive psalmic practices and the poetic paraphrase of the psalms, beginning with the German poets of the Renaissance Helius Eobanus Hessus and Ioannes Mylius Libenrodensis. Not only the artistic experience of Western and Central Europe but also of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania is taken into account. Addressing the broader historical context allows us to move away from traditional scientific discussions about the degree of influence of Jan Kochanowski’s poetic paraphrases of psalms (Psałterz Dawidów, 1578) and to more adequately appreciate Symeon’s merits in the field of cultural transfer. The King David’s Psalter of Symeon is evaluated as a result of the interaction of the European book tradition of creating poetic paraphrases of biblical texts and the East Slavic singing culture. The functioning of this culture from the end of the 16th century and especially in the 17th century was greatly influenced by Polish spiritual songs (first of all, the poetic paraphrases of the psalms of Jan Kochanowski), as well as by the increased interest in polyphonic singing thanks to Nikolai Diletsky. The collection of poetic translations of King David’s Psalms, compiled by Symeon of Polatsk, is usually used in the scientific discourse under the descriptive title Psaltir’ rifmotvornaya. This article considers the sphere of linguistic humour, specifically the linguistic structure of the so-called ‘chernomyrdinki’. Chernomyrdinki are written fixations of spontaneous oral statements by Viktor S. Chernomyrdin, a Soviet and post-Soviet statesman (1938–2010), which have become aphorisms. Chernomyrdinki are regularly reproduced and have not lost their popularity. Chernomyrdinki are, for the most part, Chernomyrdin’s spontaneous reactions to typical questions from journalists. The task of this study is to show that the not fully conscious, spontaneous statements by V. Chernomyrdin and the speech of Mikhail Zoshchenko’s heroes, deliberately constructed by the author in the course of the creative process, have much in common in their techniques of the comic and are at times identical. This study is based on the classification of “humour” in the speech of the heroes of M. Zoshchenko, developed by Mikhail Kreps. This article considers the sphere of linguistic humour, specifically the linguistic structure of the so-called ‘chernomyrdinki’. In order to form a certain image, media employ various linguistic means, such as metaphors, comparative structures, etc. Based on the material from “Gazeta Wyborcza” concerning the topic of the Katyn massacre, the present study attempts to reconstruct the image of Polish-Russian relations and decide what role the linguistic means used in the articles play in creating the discussed phenomenon. As a result the author concludes that there are two points of view about Russia presented in “Gazeta Wyborcza”. On the one hand, Russia is a criminal country and a debtor that cannot fulfil its obligations. On the other hand, Russia is a state that is open for cooperation and capable of helping. There are also two different points of view about the Polish-Russian relationships. As stated by some experts, Polish-Russian relations in the analyzed period are characterized as negative. According to the other opinions (prior to the 2022 war), these relations are getting better and perhaps will continue to improve. Ревизия классики украинской зарубежной лингвистики: гендерная проблематика в системе взглядов Юрия Шевелева (на материале статьи Über die Besonderheiten der Sprache der Frauen)

It is typical of the modern linguistic study to reconsider the classical heritage, which makes it possible to observe the dynamics of linguistic processes and the movement vector of scientific thought, as well as to track the problems that still need to be solved nowadays. Such problems include linguistic genderology issues, in particular the description of female speech. In this regard, the little-known German-language research of Yuri Sherekh (Shevelev) Über die Besonderheiten der Sprache der Frauen (1952), which outlines the specificity of female speech at almost all language levels, appears to be of great value. This piece of research remains relevant since it makes it possible to compare the female speech features from different historical periods as well as to rethink the data on the manifestation of conservatism, archaism, negative attitude towards assimilation processes, etc. in female speech, to see the dynamics of the female linguistic worldview and the development of femininity. It seems reasonable enough to state that Shevelev laid the foundation for: 1) a comparative study of gender issues based on the Slavic languages; 2) historical and dialectal gender linguistics of the Ukrainian language; 3) national Ukrainian linguistic genderology, manifested at the level of national linguistic consciousness; 4) the study of gender opposing linguistic worldviews; 5) considering the level manifestation of gender characteristics in linguistic systems. It is typical of the modern linguistic study to reconsider the classical heritage, which makes it possible to observe the dynamics of linguistic processes and the movement vector of scientific thought, as well as to track the problems that still need to be solved nowadays. The article is the result of a search for effective tools that can support the process of enriching the individual lexicon of students. The possibilities of involving students in this process through the use of selected ICT tools were indicated. It was pointed out that the use of various platforms and mobile applications in the development and control of lexical skills is conducive to individualization of teaching, and its inclusion in the learning process requires an analysis for usefulness in achieving expected learning outcomes. Online learning platforms such as WordWall and LearningApps, that allow for the design of interactive exercises facilitating the learning of foreign languages, and in particular the improving of foreign vocabulary, were analyzed. Their use in the course of independent learning enables the enrichment of vocabulary in accordance with the interests and individual communication needs of students. The inclusion of these tools in the didactic process may positively affect the motivation to learn, and their systematic use, both in the classroom and during individual work, it also allows the acceleration of the memorization of the vocabulary of a foreign language. The article is the result of a search for effective tools that can support the process of enriching the individual lexicon of students.
