Full text linkThis paper discusses the oeuvre of the Spanish artist Cesar Manrique, who lived and worked in Lanzarote from the 1970s until his death in 1992. His versatile art (the artist created buildings, sculptures, paintings, prints and other art forms) changed the island’s appearance and the attitude of its inhabitants towards the landscape and the fusion of nature and architecture. Manrique’s work was innovative and continues to inspire architects, sculptors and painters today. The aim of this article is to outline selected examples of the solutions proposed by Manrique and their impact on the notions of how nature can be combined with architecture.

“Some are guilty but all are responsible” – A.J. Heschel’s opposition to all forms of persecution
Full text linkThe main purpose of this article is to analyze racial persecution in the light of Heschel’s religious concept of equality. The Jewish thinker analyzes this problem based on the phenomenon of persecution of black people by the followers of monotheism in the United States, both by Jews and Christians. Heschel asks a fundamental question: How can a religious man persecute another man because of the color of his skin?The main purpose of this article is to analyze racial persecution in the light of Heschel’s religious concept of equality. Full text linkThe aim of the article is to discuss the Sarmatian cultural transfer into the social space of Lor-raine as a manifestation of the Polish cultural identity of the king of Poland, duke of Lorraine and Bar, Stanislaus Leszczynski, a European and a citizen of the world. Leszczynski’s prolific contributions in his new homeland had its roots in the Sarmatian culture, one in which he grew up and which became ingrained in his consciousness. Through the Polish monarch and his Polish entourage, elements of Polish cultural identity—profoundly anchored in the Sarmatian background—began to permeate into the social space of the new homeland of Lorraine.The aim of the article is to discuss the Sarmatian cultural transfer into the social space of Lorraine as a manifestation of the Polish cultural identity of the king of Poland, duke of Lorraine and Bar, Stanislaus Leszczynski, a European and a citizen of the world.
