This article explains how the European Commission steers the incorporation of entities from specific geographic areas and specialising in specific thematic domains into international research-intense projects through detailed guidance elaborated in the documentation of open calls for project applications. This hoop-test guided process tracing study aims to better understand what factors come into play in the formation and facilitation of the engagement of the European Southern Neighbourhood-based entities in the European Research Area through projects funded by the European Union’s Framework Programmes. This category-driven, qualitatively-oriented text analysis is based on the coding of various policy-relevant geographic reference points to clarify the exact contextual background that played a decisive role in including entities from Morocco and Tunisia in project consortiums. This article explains how the European Commission steers the incorporation of entities from specific geographic areas and specialising in specific thematic domains into international research-intense projects through detailed guidance elaborated in the documentation of open calls for project applications. Koncepcja monomitu w muzealnictwie narracyjnym

The aim of this article is to discuss the concept of monomyth, conceived by Joseph Campbell and elaborated using a different approach by Christopher Vogler, as well as its applicability in the field of contemporary museology and exhibitions. Specifically, the concept – with its recurring pattern of the Hero’s Journey – is examined in terms of what is known as narrative museology. The author also reflects on the essence of narrative museology as such, as well as analyzes the possibilities for monomyth to be used in creating a museum experience. The aim of this article is to discuss the concept of monomyth, conceived by Joseph Campbell and elaborated using a different approach by Christopher Vogler, as well as its applicability in the field of contemporary museology and exhibitions. Na tropach wilczyc(y). Lupa Romana zagubiona we współczesnym mieście albo o niejedno-znaczności symboli

The paper sets out from several pieces of graffiti found across the cityscape of present-day Rome to show the possible ambiguity of those inscriptions. Since they invoke the she-wolf, they may also draw attention to the Roman she-wolf (lupa Romana), a symbol intrinsic to ancient Rome. An analysis of antique literary accounts demonstrates that for the ancients themselves the lupa remained an unequivocal figure.W artykule, wychodząc od treści kilku graffiti umieszczonych w przestrzeni miejskiej współczesnego Rzymu, staram się pokazać ewentualną niejednoznaczność tych napisów.

Uwagi ikonograficzne

The author of this article discusses a series of works of art which include medals, portrait engravings, paintings and emblems. In addition to a detailed analysis of Michał Korybut Wiśniowiecki’s medallic legacy, the aim of this study was to find and describe those works of art that a medallist might have had contact with when undertaking commission from the king or his immediate circle. Identification of direct sources of inspiration for artists working in the 17th century, offers an answer the question of how Michał Korybut Wiśniowiecki promoted his own undisputed political or military achievements.

HN 4, 47)

    No full text
The article examines the validity of the view which challenges Pliny the Elder’s information concerning the existence of the colony of Flaviopolis on the Thracian Chersonesus, arguing that its name was unusual for a colony. The author discusses situations in which the title of the colony could have been combined with local place names ending in -polis. Furthermore, attention is drawn to the peculiar character of Natural History as a source for toponomastic research and the fact that the latter work also mentions the colony of Flaviobrica, whose name seems interesting given the doubts surrounding the legal status of the Thracian Flaviopolis.  The article examines the validity of the view which challenges Pliny the Elder’s information concerning the existence of the colony of Flaviopolis on the Thracian Chersonesus, arguing that its name was unusual for a colony.
