„TRZECIA KULTURA” W DOBIE POSTHUMANIZMU I TRANSHUMANIZMU
Since the mid-twentieth century, there has been a discussion in the academy about “two cultures”: humanities and sciences and the so-called third culture. In this article I outline the history of this debate. I also present new trends in contemporary humanistic reflection: posthumanism and transhumanism, which are based on interdisciplinary research. I am also describing the projects and the output of several currents of contemporary art: robotic art, bio art and bio-robotic art.Since the mid-twentieth century, there has been a discussion in the academy about “two cultures”: humanities and sciences and the so-called third culture. MACHIAVELLI, THE FRUSTRATED PRINCE
This article advances a hypothesis which differs from those usually formulated about “The Prince”. Here, Machiavelli is not simply a scholar versed in politicalphilosophy. The theories that he expounds on in this particular piece of work would, in part, be the result of long-term efforts he undertook to gain power for himself and become a sovereign. In order to support this assertion, it is necessary to turn to his biography. His interventions as a high official (particularly during the latter years of the Florentine Republic) have been compared to the reflections he compiled in The Prince . This information points to the fact that Machiavelli followed a meticulous plan in order to carry out a coup d´état, taking shelter behind Soderini – agonfalonier for life – for whom he acted as main counsellor. Some of his contemporaries (and his political enemies in particular) already expressed their suspicions in that regard. The corresponding references have been included in the article.

Recepcja myśli mariologicznej i maryjnej Johna Henry’ego Newmana w mariologii Soboru Watykańskiego II
The main goal of this article is to show how John Henry Newman’s Mariology and thought on Blessed Mary penetrated into the Mariology of the Second Vatican Council. To begin with, the author outlines the context of Newman’s theological activity as well as the context of the last Council. Subsequently, selected aspects of Newman’s mariological reflection are discussed as they emerge in the conciliar documents. The author then advances a theological assessment of Newman’s conceptions which found their way into the documents of the council. The main goal of this article is to show how John Henry Newman’s Mariology and thought on Blessed Mary penetrated into the Mariology of the Second Vatican Council. Interpretacja humanistyczna dyskursów performatywnych
Jerzy Kmita’s conception of humanistic interpretation is an appropriate reconstruction of communicative discourses, but it does not allow reconstruction of the non-communicative ones. In order to extend the range of application, I have employed John L. Austin’s performative-constative distinction, but have expanded its scope from speech acts to any discourses. As a result, the classification of discourse is as follows: explicit and implicit constatives, and explicit and implicit performatives. The efficacy of the new categorisation has been demonstrated with selected discourses sourced from the history of aesthetics.Jerzy Kmita’s conception of humanistic interpretation is an appropriate reconstruction of communicative discourses, but it does not allow reconstruction of the non-communicative ones. Medal upamiętniający zawarcie związku małżeńskiego między Teresą Kunegudną Sobieską a Maksymilanem Emanuelem Wittelsbachem z 1694 roku, autorstwa Georga Haustscha. Próba interpretacji na przykładzie wybranych dzieł sztuki (medalierstwa i grafiki)
In the article, the author describes in detail two selected pieces of art which bear considerable resemblance to the medal minted by Georg Hautsch. As the author observes, no representation in the entire painterly and graphic legacy of associated with Jan III Sobieski offers an direct prototype on which the medallist may have relied. It should therefore be suspected that the royal likeness on the obverse was based on several earlier representations in graphic arts or was an original project by Hautsch. Nonetheless, the features of the king were rendered in accordance with historical truth, as evidenced by anatomical details and salient features, such as Sobieski\u27s moustache depicted in most of the realistic royal portraits. Therefore, it would not be legitimate to claim that Sobieski was commemorated on the basis of a likeness of another European ruler. In the article, the author describes in detail two selected pieces of art which bear considerable resemblance to the medal minted by Georg Hautsch. ŚLAD MISTYKI ŻYDOWSKIEJ W TRANSCENDENTALNEJ ANTROPOLOGII KARLA RAHNERA
This principal aim of deliberations in this paper was to verify the hypothesis that Karl Rahner’s anthropology operates on premises which dovetail with fundamental ideas originating with medieval Jewish mystics. In order to argue the hypothesis, the author relies on comparative methodology to discuss essential anthropological concepts advanced by K. Rahner and M. Buber. This principal aim of deliberations in this paper was to verify the hypothesis that Karl Rahner’s anthropology operates on premises which dovetail with fundamental ideas originating with medieval Jewish mystics. KATEGORYZACJA SWÓJ/OBCY W DEBACIE SPOŁECZNOŚCIOWEJ W KONTEKŚCIE KRYZYSU MIGRACYJNEGO W EUROPIE
The aim of this article is to demonstrate the differences in the perception of immigrants and refugees in social debate taking place online. For that purpose, the authors analysed comments posted in social media (Facebook). When describing the techniques of categorization, attention was paid to the interlacing colloquial and scientific descriptions in the discourse concerned with contemporary migrations, also focusing on the process of neosemantization to which scientific terms are subjected. The aim of this article is to demonstrate the differences in the perception of immigrants and refugees in social debate taking place online.
