The exponential growth in end-user demand for multimedia content has necessitated significant advancements in communication technologies and multimedia processing. This paper presents a comprehensive review of various multimedia communication systems, focusing on the techniques employed for processing multimedia content and ensuring seamless transmission. It examines various technologies and communication protocols used to transport multimedia material while also addressing the difficulties these technologies present. The goal is to satisfy the growing demands for multimedia communication that include high data rates, wide bandwidth, low latency, and increased Quality of Service (QoS)
DocTrack: A Dynamic Document Tracking System for the University of Northern Philippines
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) purposely aims to standardize and transform processes into paperless transactions. Hence, all organizations must create a mechanism to standardize processes for internationalization. The newly developed DocTrack: A Dynamic Document Tracking System for the University of Northern Philippines served as the central repository of documents from the time it was created until its approval. The study used descriptive-developmental research, focusing on the prevailing condition and assessing changes over an extended period. At the same time, it used the Modified Waterfall Model because it is the most applicable software development methodology since the developer had thorough planning on implementing the system. The developed system consists of six major functionalities, which are: uploading a document for approval; tracking a document; displaying a received document; displaying documents that are pending release; displaying declined documents; and archiving documents. The researchers considered security controls and measures to safeguard the documents stored from unauthorized users. Adopting this web-based document tracking system for the University of Northern Philippines facilitates easier tracking and consolidation of documents. However, the University should also purchase the necessary equipment and set it up to support the developed system. It provides the University with a mechanism for paperless transactions
Comparative Analysis of Shortest Route Problem Algorithms for Emergency Response Services
Emergency response services require a fast and shortest possible route when responding to emergency situations that include road accidents, crimes, the occurrence of fires, etc. In this regard, an efficient and robust shortest route locator is essentially important. This study primarily aims to analyze the performance of the various shortest route problem algorithms, including the regular Dijkstra’s algorithm, the Bidirectional search algorithm, and the Multidirectional Dijkstra’s algorithm (MDA). The implementations of these algorithms are evaluated and compared in order to determine which algorithm can be an excellent choice to be adopted by such emergency response services. The results showed that the MDA has efficient performance in both light and heavy traffic situations in terms of speed and response times
Analysis of a Honeypot Intrusion Detection System for Medical and Healthcare Services
Cyber-attacks have been increasingly becoming alarming in recent years specifically for medical and healthcare systems. One of the cyber-attackers aims is to break into the medical or healthcare networks and gain access to the patient’s medical records. This paper deals with the honeypot-based intrusion detection system to provide information security for medical and healthcare systems. The proposed system utilizes the Dionaea and Kippo SSH (Kippo Secure Shell) honeypots to secure the medical and healthcare network infrastructure and analyze the activities of cyber-attackers. A possible Metasploit and Brute force attacks logged by the Dionaea and Kippo SSH will be analyzed to prepare the malware analysis report of the suspicious file download
Emergency Number Services Rescue Mobile App in Sta. Cruz, Laguna
This paper aimed to support and help people who are experiencing emergencies, mishaps, crimes, vehicle problems, or disasters in Sta. Cruz, Laguna. With this, an Emergency Number Services Rescue Mobile App in Sta. Cruz, Laguna was devised, developed, and evaluated. This app provides different emergency units where people can send emergency message information, GPS location, and direct calls where users or victims encounter an emergency, crime, vehicle problem, or disaster situation. Respondents from Sta. Cruz Laguna using stratified random sampling was utilized. The use of the descriptive method of research was identified in the study. Questionnaires, formal interviews, observation, library resources, and Internet resources were used for data gathering. The emergency application was assessed by the respondents through software evaluation using ISO/IEC 25010:2011, which got an overall weighted mean of 3.79 with an interpretation of “Agree.

A Web-Based Training and Evaluation System for Government Institutions with Application of Data Analytics
The study aimed to evaluate the Web-based Training and Evaluation System for use in training workforces. The system was intended to evaluate the ratings given by participants to the training speakers and the training as a whole through survey questionnaires indicating the participant’s level of satisfaction with the conducted training. The system was initiated in government institutions and will subsequently be used in educational institutions such as schools and training institutions. The purpose of the study was therefore to describe the effectiveness of the Web-Based Training and Evaluation Systems in identifying, analyzing, and measuring the level of satisfaction of each training and seminar conducted. A K-means algorithm was used to build the system, wherein the data gathered will be clustered and stored in a repository, and the data will be displayed on the system dashboard to give insight into the overall training process and help determine the effectiveness of the training program and the speakers. Precisely, the research study was focused on the level of satisfaction in the aspects of: Functionality, Reliability and Usability which are three of the subsections of the Software Quality Standards defined in ISO/IEC 9126, an international standard for the evaluation of software quality. The data were collected using descriptive and developmental methods. Purposive sampling was used, and fifteen (15) training personnel were the participants of the research. The results showed that in terms of the Functionality aspect, the participants’ rating had a weighted mean of 4.43, which was considered highly satisfied, while based on Reliability, the participants were highly satisfied with the system with a weighted mean of 4.27. Meanwhile, in terms of the system’s Usability, the participants were highly satisfied, as their ratings’ weighted mean is 4.53. It was deduced from the collected data using the three indicators’ overall weighted mean of 4.41; thus, the system got a highly satisfactory rating and can be classified as effective for use in the evaluation of the training programs
CORBA-Based Class Scheduling Framework Using Decorator and Facade Design Patterns
Class scheduling problem has been regarded as one of the most difficult yet important challenges for developers developing timetabling applications. Different algorithms or schemes were devised to address such problems. Yet, considering the growing complexity of the input factors, it contributes to difficulties in maintaining the said system. In order to aid in the development and maintenance of such a system, this paper presents an object-oriented approach to designing a class scheduling paradigm using decorator and facade design patterns with CORBA architecture. This technique was based on the concepts of several existing object-oriented components of Windows GUI platforms. The paradigm designs are expressed using Unified Modeling Language (UML) and illustrated in a Java programming environment. The result of the study is a simplified method for designing an efficient and reusable component for the class scheduling model

Forecasting Electric Substation’s Load Curve Using GMDH-type Neural Network
Electric load forecasting plays an important role in the planning and operation of the power system for high productivity in any province in the region. A short-term electrical energy forecast for Sibalom, Antique, Philippines Substation was carried out using a GMDH-type neural network as its core algorithm, and the result was compared to that of regression analysis. The GMDH-type neural network was used to train and test weekly energy consumed in the substation from July 2020 to August 2020. The neural network was trained using a quadratic neural function. Root mean square error (RMSE) and mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) were used as performance indices to test the accuracy of the forecast. The neural network model gave a root mean square error (RMSE) of 3.57177%, a mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) of 2.35499%, and a correlation (R) value of 0.983591 while the regression analysis method gave a standard error of 99.39524 and a correlation (R) value of 0.907673. Results obtained show the efficacy of the GMDH-type neural network model in forecasting over the regression analysis method
