ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE BASED HELIPAD DETECTION WITH CONVOLUTIONAL NEURAL NETWORK
When a malfunction occurs in the helicopter or the pilot faints during a flight or performing a duty, and in order to ensure the safety of the pilot and the helicopter, a system must be available to detect the helicopter landing pads, so that the helicopter can land at the airport. Closest safe place immediately. This study focuses on helicopter landing pad detection using YOLOv8 and YOLOv5 models. A dataset of 1877 images collected from the Internet was used to evaluate the performance of the models. YOLOv8 showed good performance in helipad detection with 96.7% accuracy and 95.8% recall, resulting in an average accuracy ([email protected]) of 98.8%. As for YOLOv5, it reached 95.1% precision, 95.8% recall, and 97.5% [email protected]. Both models showed good results, but YOLOv8 outperformed it by a small percent
Advances in Evaluating Fluid Levels: Bioimpedance in Patients with Kidney Failure
This study delves deeply into the various facets of bioimpedance analysis as it relates to the development of chronic kidney disease (CKD). The use of bioimpedance spectroscopy (BIS) to evaluate the effectiveness of peritoneal dialysis (PD) and determine dialysis adequacy using variables like volume (V) and Kt/V is at the heart of this compilation. The investigations closely look at how important water distribution is for the advancement of CKD and how that affects patient outcomes. Evaluation of several body composition measurement methods is emphasized, especially the combination of the bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) ratio and the dry mass index (DMI). By applying the BIA TBW Watson ratio, these approaches provide important insights into the relationships between fluid volume and physiological indicators, such as body mass index (BMI) and total body water (TBW). The study emphasizes the differences in fluid overload diagnosis between conventional clinical assessments and sophisticated bioimpedance techniques, particularly in older patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD), underscoring the need for proper monitoring and intervention.

Advanced Methods for Identifying Counterfeit Currency: Using Deep Learning and Machine Learning
Counterfeiting is a serious threat to economies because sophisticated counterfeit banknotes are becoming increasingly difficult to identify through conventional verification techniques, thanks to advancements in printing technology. In this work, we offer a thorough investigation of sophisticated methods for detecting counterfeit money that make use of deep learning and machine learning approaches. Using machine learning algorithms like Random Forest, Decision Tree Classifier, XGBoost, CatBoost, and Support Vector Machine (SVM) in addition to deep learning techniques like Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), VGG16, MobileNetV2, and InceptionV3, we examine the security characteristics of Iraqi dinar banknotes and build robust models. All of the models in our results had high accuracy rates, with CNN, CatBoost, and SVM showing particularly strong performance. These results demonstrate how effective cutting-edge technical solutions are in thwarting the dangers posed by counterfeit money, protecting national economies and reducing losses. Sustaining the security of international financial systems and keeping ahead of evolving counterfeiting strategies need ongoing study and development in this area
Integration of DeepSORT and RFID Technology for Enhanced Human Tracking
Human activity tracking enhances safety and reduces the risk of people getting lost or kidnapped. This paper presents a human tracking system using the YOLOv8n detection model, DeepSORT tracking algorithm, and RFID technologies on low-power devices like the Raspberry Pi.
The passive RFID tags, which do not require batteries, make the system lightweight and maintenance-free. The Raspberry Pi Model V3 camera, with an 8-megapixel Sony IMX219 sensor, captures video at 640x480p90 resolution.
The YOLOv8n algorithm was trained on 2292 images, achieving an accuracy of 0.992 for mAP50 and 0.902 for mAP50-95. After integrating it with DeepSORT, the system achieved MOTA = 0.973684 and MOTP = 0.438766 at 30 fps.
In real time, tracking for 20 frames yielded MOTA = 1.0 and MOTP = 0.13. The UHF RFID reader detected tags at a distance of 1.5 meters
Estimation of annual evaporation losses for the Makhoul Dam reservoir (under construction)
The Evaporation problem is considered one of the most important problems that dam reservoirs suffer from because of the economic losses and costs of treating. Makhoul Dam, which is a dam under construction in Iraq. In this research, a study was conducted to estimate the evaporation losses from the dam’s reservoir. The type A pan was used to measure daily evaporation for a full year, starting from July 2022 until June 2023. The GES program was used to estimate the shape of the reservoir based on Based on the information available for the dam and DEM satellite images of the area with a resolution of 30 meters. Two sites were chosen to measure evaporation, one in the city of Al-Zab, approximately in the center of the reservoir, and the other in the village of Tal Ali, about 30 km from the dam. The results showed that the cumulative total of annual evaporation from the Al-Zab measuring station reached 1547 mm/year, and the cumulative total of annual evaporation from Tal Ali station reached 1766 mm/year. The evaporation rate from the two stations was taken to calculate the annual rate of evaporation from the reservoir, which amounted to 1656 mm/year. Two hypotheses were imposed for the method of evaporation from the reservoir. The first assumed that the reservoir was full throughout the year. In this case, the evaporation losses from the reservoir would be 380,631,600 cubic meters/year, or the equivalent of 15% of the volume of the storage. As for the second hypothesis, it assumed that the reservoir is variable throughout the year, starting with the highest level in the spring and then decreasing. The increasing demand for high-performance LED applications has led to the development of thermal management systems to reduce heat generation. This review paper examines finned heat sinks for LED applications, examining the impact of fin number, height, thickness, shape, type, direction, and materials used. The study concludes that creating holes in the fins improves heat sink performance, while shape, size, and number also affect heat transfer rate and temperature drop along the fins. This research highlights the importance of efficient thermal management systems in LED applications. Effect of Calcium Chloride, Magnesium Sulfate, and Maleic Acid Spraying on Growth and Yield of Two Potato Varieties (Solanum tuberosum L.)
Two different potato varieties, Riviera and Argana, were used in this study to evaluate their performance under the influence of foliar fertilization (calcium and magnesium) at four concentrations (0%, 0.5%, and 1% calcium chloride, and 0.4% magnesium sulfate) and foliar spraying with malic acid at three concentrations (0, 250, and 500 mg L-1) in the vegetable field of the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Design at the College of Agriculture and Forestry during the spring growing season of 2023. The study was conducted using a complete randomized block design with three replicates. Argana variety showed significant superiority over Riviera in traits such as plant height, leaf area, average tuber weight, and yield per plant, while Riviera variety outperformed Argana significantly in the number of aerial stems. The best yield per plant for Argana variety was obtained with 0.4% magnesium sulfate and 250 mg L-1 malic acid treatment, while the best plant height was achieved in the same variety with 0.4% magnesium sulfate and 500 mg L-1 malic acid treatment. The highest number of stems was observed in Riviera variety with 0% calcium chloride and 500 mg L-1 malic acid treatment, while the lowest was in Argana variety with 0.5% calcium chloride and 250 mg L-1 malic acid treatment. The highest leaf area was found in Riviera variety treated with 0.5% calcium chloride and 0 mg L-1 malic acid, while the lowest was in the control treatment of the same variety. Data was collected from 1375 individual records of Awassi ewes and 1518 births to determine the effect of maternal age, first parity type, and sex on parity type, sex, and birth weight for older ewes. Dams of female lambs were selected to calculate the heritability and genetic correlation between birth weight and weaning weight. Results showed highly significant differences (P < 0.01) between ewe ages in parity type, with single and twin births at 1.5 years of age exceeding other ages by 51.58% and 12.25%, respectively, and decreasing with advancing age. Single births significantly exceeded (P < 0.01) twin births at all ages. For lamb sex, the proportion of male and female births at 1.5 years of age was significantly higher (P < 0.01) at 33.33% and 30.50%, respectively, and decreased to 0.60% and 0.66% with advancing age. The proportion of female births increased after 3.5 years of age at the expense of male births. Results showed a high heritability for birth weight of ewes born in 2009 and born in other years, and a decrease in heritability for the same ewes and the same period for weaning weight. Genetic correlations were very high, while this situation was reversed for ewes born in 2010 and 2011, as well as for weaning weight
Influence of 3D printing orientations on mechanical properties for polymeric models
The coming of 3D printing technology has revolutionized the manufacturing process, particularly in the sector of polymeric materials fabricated by LCD printers. Two different designs were selected in study in order to achieve the goal. Their geometry was selected by ASTM to prepare them for the tensile test and compassion test. For tensile tests, three directions were chosen; On-Edge, On-Flat and Up-Right and for compression tests On-Vertical and On-Horizontal directions. Both experimental and FEM were used in this study. Study's findings demonstrated that the printing orientation of the specimens has significantly and decisively impacted the mechanical properties. Tensile specimen (On-Edge) exhibited greater strength due to the smaller printed layer, resulting in improved resolution and less porosity. The tensile specimen (Up-Right) exhibited lower strength due to the perpendicular orientation of the printed layers with respect to the applied tensile force. An analysis of the productivity of an active solar still vs. a passive solar still over the autumn and winter seasons in the city of Kirkuk, Iraq
Solar distillation is seen as a sustainable and practical way to solve water shortages in rural regions, which are experiencing an increase in demand for clean water. Over the course of four months in the autumn and winter, experiments were carried out in Kirkuk, Iraq, located at 35.4666° N, 44.3799° E. We directly inserted eight vacuum tubes into the solar still to boost the passive still's production. The area of it is 1 square meter. The productivity recorded in each month was as follows: 1208 ml in November, 2653 ml in December, 2541 ml in January, and 1794 ml in February. In comparison to the passive still, productivity rose by 277.5%, 237.5%, 245.7%, and 233%, respectively. In comparison to the passive still, which achieved an efficiency of 16%, the thermal efficiency increased to 18.6%, 18.8%, 24.8%, and 36%, respectively
