This article presents the fi ndings of a study examining how media manipulation is being implemented within Mongolia’s political information environment, based on open data from Meta’s Ad Library on paid political advertising. Within the scope of the study, the historical development of media manipulation theory and contemporary trends are synthesized, and five key criteria are developed focusing on digital platform algorithms, the attention economy, and emotion-based mechanisms of influence. The empirical analysis covers data from 842 political advertisements distributed in Mongolia between September 1 and November 15, 2025, as well as data from 63 Facebook pages. As a case study, the research focuses on the political confl ict between D.Amarbaysgalan and G. Zandanshatar within the Mongolian People’s Party (MPP). The results of quantitative and content analysis indicate the prevalence of highly funded and organized dissemination, astroturfing, agenda-setting/framing practices, and narratives grounded in fear and anger. In alignment with platform algorithms, emotionally driven content was delivered to the public more intensively than policy-oriented information. The study demonstrates that algorithm-based, systematic media manipulation is being practically implemented within Mongolia’s information environment and emphasizes the importance of enhancing research-based understanding and increasing public awareness of such influence.[1] The academic article “Political Manipulation” written in 1998 by researcher E.Munkhtsetseg is assumed—based on my search—to be the earliest work on this topic
ӨДӨР ТУТМЫН СОНИНЫ МЭДЭЭНИЙ ЭХ СУРВАЛЖИЙН ШИНЖИЛГЭЭ
Research on information sources is an important issue in news and information analysis. Daily newspaper news is a type of news that requires high verifi cation by sources. However, news is still published without sources. Therefore, a study that covers daily newspaper news for a certain period of time and determines the actual situation is necessary. In this article, a sample of daily newspaper news was analyzed using content analysis to clarify the practical situation of newspaper news sources. Previous studies have aimed to solve theoretical-practical problems, but have not suffi ciently determined what the reality is. Most studies have deviated from the issue of pure journalistic information verifi cation by distinguishing between permanent and occasional sources, studying cultural groups, competitors, and their public relations. When studying the sources of daily newspapers, the sample was analyzed using the following coders: topic, short and detailed news, and news with and without sources. In terms of sources, the two Mongolian newspapers have high quality indicators, but there is a need to pay attention to the issue of short news stories and news that do not cite sources. While there is a growing trend in Chinese newspapers to report news with professional accountability, ideologically driven state news sources and news source networks have a strong negative impact. The results of the study show that while the responsibility to verify the source of news in daily newspapers is increasing, some problems such as this still exist
Virtual reality and its implication for destination marketing – A case study of Generation Z: Виртуал бодит байдлыг аялал жуулчлалын маркетингад ашиглах нь – Z үеийн хэрэглэгчдийн жишээ нь дээр
This study explores the influence of virtual reality (VR) technology on young consumers' travel motivation, decision-making processes, and overall satisfaction. As an immersive medium that bridges the physical and digital realms through specialized hardware and software, VR engages multiple human senses—primarily sight, hearing, and touch—creating the illusion of presence in a virtual environment. VR offers users diverse experiences such as entertainment, education, self-development, and virtual travel, thereby transforming how individuals perceive and engage with potential destinations. The research employes a quantitative research method using random sampling, collecting data from 202 respondents aged 18 to 23. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS software, focusing on key variables including the perceived ease of use of VR devices, user satisfaction, influence on travel-related attitudes, and its role in shaping travel motivations and decisions. The findings reveal that both the usability of VR and the satisfaction derived from virtual experiences significantly enhance travel attitudes and influence decision-making. Based on these insights, the study recommends the integration of VR technology into tourism marketing strategies to effectively engage and influence younger traveler segments
Long-term climate changes in permafrost region of the Mongolian Altai: The case study area in Khovd province: Монгол Алтайн цэвдэгт бүс нутгийн урт хугацааны уур амьсгалын өөрчлөлт: Ховд аймгийн жишээн дээр
It is an irrefutable fact that climate change is actively occurring rapidly in Mongolia, as confirmed by numerous studies in recent years. This phenomenon is particularly pronounced in high-mountainous regions. We conducted this study to assess climate change in permafrost regions of the Mongolian Altai mountains, and evaluated its impact on permafrost degradation and projected future trends. We selected Khovd province as the case study area. It is located in the Mongolian Altai region. The long-term meteorological data from the Khovd and Baitag stations is definitive. These stations are located in Jargalant and Bulgan soums in Khovd province. Furthermore, climate change projection models used to estimate future trends up to the year 2100. Climate change projection models show that air temperature will increase by between 1.3°C and 7.1°C by 2100. The SSP5-8.5 scenario shows unequivocally that the highest warming is expected, with air temperatures in the study area rising by 5.2 to 7.1°C after the 2070s compared to the average of 1981-2010. The results of this study are clear: over the 82-year period from 1940 to 2021, the air temperature in the study area has increased by approximately 2.5°C to 3°C. Precipitation patterns show variability, with increases of up to 2.44 mm in some areas and decreases of up to 2.73 mm in others. The projections of permafrost degradation are in line with the anticipated impacts of climate change in the Mongolian Altai mountains. It is clear that it will completely disappear by 2099. It is vital to take appropriate, scientifically based responses to reduce and prevent the intensity of climate change and base extinction in this region

The New Era Imminent and Conflicting World Order: Gansukh Tserendorj, Antonny Miller
In recent years, our world has experienced a multitude of significant transformations that merit close examination. While certain developments reflect positive trends associated with advancements in technology, globalization, and international cooperation, many resultant shifts have engendered heightened levels of caution and anxiety among nations and populations alike. Notably, the established balance of power, which has historically underpinned global order and stability, appears increasingly precarious. In light of these rapidly evolving geopolitical dynamics, it is imperative for the international community to prioritize strategies that prevent conflicts from spiraling into critical crises. The challenges posed by ongoing armed conflicts—particularly in pivotal regions such as Europe and the Middle East—underscore the necessity for a concerted, responsible approach to issues of war and peace. This includes an urgent call to action for the immediate cessation of hostilities, which can be achieved through mutual compromises, robust arms control measures, the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons, and the strengthening of international organizations tasked with conflict resolution. This study underscores the focus on the fostering of peace in this tumultuous landscape, and therefore, demands a collaborative commitment to constructing a more secure and cooperative world
