Despite not always being at the center of major world affairs, Mongolia is still connected to the broader global community and can experience significant impacts and trends on the international stage. Cross-Cultural Knowledge Transfer and The Adaptation of Chinese Medical Practice in Mongolia
No full textThis study explores the impact of Chinese medicine on Mongolian medical traditions in the 18th and 19th centuries. Through the analysis of Mongolian medical texts, the literature reveals the selective approach Mongolian healers used when integrating Chinese concepts and treatments into their own. As infectious diseases was an important factor in shaping the Mongol population, a key focus is found on their strategy against this, particularly to smallpox. By filtering and engaging with Chinese knowledge, Mongolian scholars actively tailored it to the contextual needs of their country to strengthen their preexisting medical system. Alongside this, this article further aims to unpack the importance of translation in the dissemination of medical knowledge, notably through the Mongolian translation of The Fine Words of Smallpox (1814). Ultimately, this research underscores the impact of Chinese medical pratices on Mongolian medicine, illustrating the significance of cross-cultural connections in advancing medical traditions and public health
Making Use of Time-Use Data to Estimate Elderly Care Needs
No full textThe aging population and the increasing need for long-term care for the elderly have led to significant care gaps in countries with underdeveloped care regimes. Social assistance and protection policies to address elderly care needs tend to ignore the costs imposed on households and borne predominantly by women. At the same time, as representative data on the care of the elderly population are not widely available in many countries, it is very difficult to identify needs and estimate demand for elderly care. In this study, we aim to provide estimates of elderly care needs using information provided by time use survey data. Time-use surveys are the main source of information on time spent on care activities, but these surveys are generally repeated every ten years. The Turkish Time Use Survey (TUS) conducted in 2014-2015 includes not only actual time spent on elderly care but also a special module for elderly care in Turkey. In this context, we aim to estimate the demand for elderly care to adapt elderly care patterns to the present based on population statistics and data from the elderly care module of the most recent available data. The methodology we use here can be proposed in other cases with data constraints to identify the need for care

No full textThis study aims to analyze errors in students' English lecture note writing by utilizing feedback provided by Grammarly. The research specifically evaluates Grammarly's effectiveness in detecting and correcting various types of writing errors. A total of 590 errors were identified from the collected data and classified into five types: grammar, syntax, morphology, mechanics, and style. Among these, syntax-related errors emerged as the most frequent, indicating that students often face difficulties with sentence structures and word orders. In contrast, vocabulary-related errors were the least common, which shows that students generally possess an adequate vocabulary but may face difficulties in properly structuring sentences. The findings highlight the specific challenges that students encounter in academic writing, which demonstrates that there are areas where additional guidance and support are needed to improve writing accuracy. Based on the analysis, the study concludes that Grammarly is an effective tool for detecting errors as it provides immediate and useful feedback. However, for comprehensive error correction, it is recommended that Grammarly be used alongside human revision. This combination enhances a higher level of accuracy, clarity, and overall writing quality
Legal Foundations of Central Bank Digital Currency: Defining Mongolia’s Legal Framework of “Legal Tender” Status
No full textIn response to the rapid development of digital payment instruments such as cryprocurrencies, e-wallets global central banks have started to research and experiment their own digital currency, also known as Central bank digital currency (CBDC) for the reasons of protecting national currency and ensuring the effectiveness of monetary policy. A currency enjoys a “legal tender” status, if the law specifies its mandatory acceptance, at full face value, with the effect of discharging monetary debts issued by the central bank. Even though Central bank digital currency is a digital version of the paper banknotes and coins, it is still a new type of payment instrument. Although various approaches are being taken in the design and development of central bank digital currencies, as a new type of payment instrument, it has become challenging to regulate it under the laws that had been tailored for physical forms of money. Today we are witnessing efforts of multiple countries to reassess their current legal foundations of Central bank digital currency by redefining of “legal tender” and the central bank’s power to issue currency by taking steps toward amending existing regulations. This article aims to briefly explain the characteristics of Central bank digital currency, international efforts to reform its legal environment, and predetermine whether current Mongolian legislation has the right to issue Central bank digital currency.

No full textPublished in 2017, Further Research on Khitan Small Script not only systematically and comprehensively collated the interpretation results of the Khitan small script up to 2016 but also conducted in-depth analysis and commentary on the interpretation process of this script. Since the book’s publication, new breakthroughs and accomplishments have continued to emerge in the field of Khitan small script research. This paper intends to adopt literature research and inductive analysis methods to comprehensively sort out and summarize the achievements made by Inner Mongolia University in Khitan small script research from 2016 to 2025, with a focus on the latest research progress. By presenting a comparative analysis of different research findings from Inner Mongolia University and potential paths for comparative studies, it aims to provide references for relevant researchers. This holds significant academic value and practical significance for deepening the study of the Khitan small script and promoting the further development of Khitan language research
