On transforming a traditional organisational culture to meet the needs of a global business
This study highlights the challenges that a traditional organizational culture faces in terms of its adaptation in the context of contemporary business models and globalisation trends. In our attempt to answer the question – Can a traditional organizational culture and global business coexist? – the constructs as research and innovation, teamwork, decision-making, risk taking, market orientation, and adaptation of organisational culture, are included in the methodological framework. A case study of Montenegro as a developing country in Southeastern Europe was used as a research method. Firstly, a desk review of relevant secondary literature sources related to organisational culture, in general and in the context of globalisation, was carried out. Secondly, the impact of globalisation and international business on the traditional organisational culture in the developing environment, was investigated using a survey as a data collection method
R&D impact in the changes of economic structure of population
Research and Development (R&D) plays crucial role in the technological progress, and thus it can be seen as facilitator of the economic development. It is widely known that the importance of the research is not only in economic aspect but also in the technologic aspect. On the other hand, not all of countries have possibility to develop such researches, as it requires huge financial support, and professional human capital. As a result of these investments and technological developments, changes on the employment rate in each sector are evident. The study is focused on measuring the impact of R&D in the changes of the economic structure of population. In the study are included thirty world countries divided in three groups: ten countries with largest GDP, ten with largest GDP per capita and ten Balkan countries. Structural Equation Model is used to measure the impact of almost three decades until pandemic COVID-19. From the analysis conducted, the results show that, investments in research and development and innovation have positive impact on the economic structural of population
Social enterprises as a tool for supporting housing supply in compliance with the Agenda 2030
There is a space at the interface between the public and state sectors and the private profitable, market sector for the operation of the social economy. The social economy is a socially beneficial area in solving social problems in many countries of the European Union and is still consolidating its position in terms of the Agenda 2030. The paper presents a framework of new and unexplored issues, where the novelty a current overview of the role of social enterprises in providing housing support for low-income groups in regions of the Slovak Republic with elevated unemployment rates, in alignment with the objectives set forth in Agenda 2030. We also focus on the potential of social enterprises in solving the issue of housing for people with insufficient income in marginalized communities, as this area has received little attention in Slovakia. As part of the empirical part, we conducted an analysis of the development of social enterprises and their establishment in the regions. Since a quarter of the social enterprises are located in the least developed regions, where unemployment is significantly worse than the Slovak average, we examined by correlation whether there is a dependence between the number of available job seekers of working age in % of the working age population in individual regions of the Slovak Republic and the number of social enterprises established in the regions of the Slovak Republic. From empirical research, we can identify that social housing enterprises are an important tool that helps solve the issue of housing for people who do not have sufficient income to secure it however, the absence of effective financial support results in their uniform composition
Application of global navigation satellite systems and synthetic aperture radar technology in environmental and earth surface stability research: a reviews
Environmental monitoring technologies have advanced, offering reliable data to assess and mitigate the impacts of climate and ecosystem changes on the planet. Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) and Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) technology have contributed to this progress. The combined use of GNSS and SAR enriches environmental assessments, supporting programs for climate monitoring, water cycle analysis, and vegetation mapping. This integration is also crucial for tracking the movement of Earth’s tectonic plates and monitoring its stability, with GNSS measuring precise surface displacements and SAR providing detailed images of ground deformation. Several models and systems have been developed for large-scale global area monitoring, where GNSS and SAR data provide accurate measurements used to evaluate various parameters such as soil moisture, vegetation cover, glacier melting, and more. GNSS and SAR are widely used in monitoring tectonic plate shifts and Earth’s stability. A study conducted by the European Earth Movement Monitoring Service in the Kirkilai sinkhole area, covering 5.9 hectares, found that the system uses only four measurement points in such an area, which does not fully describe the situation of height changes over time. Therefore, it would be beneficial to create a local model or system for monitoring the Lithuanian territory using the same GNSS and SAR technologies.

Pasaulinės navigacijos palydovų sistemų ir sintetinės apertūros radarų technologijos pritaikymas aplinkos ir žemės paviršiaus stabilumo tyrimuose: apžvalga

Aplinkos stebėjimo technologijos pažengė į priekį, siūlydamos patikimus duomenis planetos klimato ir ekosistemų pokyčiams vertinti ir pasekmėms mažinti. Pasaulinės navigacijos palydovų sistemos (GNSS) ir sintetinės apertūros radaro (SAR) technologija prisidėjo prie šio progreso. GNSS ir SAR papildomas naudojimas leidžia praturtinti aplinkos vertinimus, palaikant programas klimatui stebėti, vandens ciklui analizuoti ir augalijos žemėlapiams sudaryti. Ši integracija taip pat yra labai svarbi sekant Žemės tektoninių plokščių judėjimą ir stebint jos stabilumą, kai GNSS matuoja tikslius paviršiaus poslinkius, o SAR teikia išsamius žemės deformacijos vaizdus. Sukurtas ne vienas modelis ir sistema globaliems didelio masto teritorijų stebėjimams, kur GNSS ir SAR duomenys suteikia tikslius matavimus, kurie naudojami įvertinti įvairiems parametrams, tokiems kaip dirvožemio drėgmė, augalijos danga, ledynų tirpimas ir kt. GNSS ir SAR plačiai naudojami atliekant tektoninių plokščių poslinkių ir žemės stabilumo stebėjimus. Europos žemės judesius stebinčios tarnybos sukurta sistema atliktas tyrimas Kirkilų ežeryno smegduobių teritorijoje, kurios plotas 5.9 ha. Nustatyta, kad sistema tokiame plote naudoja tik keturis matuojamus taškus, tai išsamiai neapibūdina visos vietovės aukščių pokyčių situacijos laike, todėl būtų naudinga kurti vietinį modelį arba sistemą Lietuvos teritorijai stebėti pasitelkiant tas pačias GNSS ir SAR technologijas.

A SDGs-oriented evaluation of the ecological sustainability of international horticultural exposition sites in Chengdu, China
This study employs the AHP-entropy weight methodology and a spatial econometric regression model to evaluate the ecological sustainability and its changes between the current situation and the planning scenario at the 2024 Chengdu International Horticultural Exposition in China. The results indicate a notable shift: a reduction in areas of low and highest sustainability and significant expansion in medium levels, which spans 34.04 hm2. The transformation of village settlements, wastelands, and farmland into exhibition gardens and water bodies is shown to bolster medium-level ecological sustainability by enhancing rain and flood security and mitigating the risk of flood disasters. The development of Integrated Service areas will lead to an increase in impervious surfaces. The anticipated forest loss, along with declines in vegetation coverage, three-dimensional green volume, and vegetation carbon stock will adversely affect the highest sustainability. The study identifies a robust correlation between ecological sustainability level and quantitative indicators, with regression coefficients ranging from 0.5875 to 0.7148. This analysis provides policymakers with valuable insights and directions for the sustainable planning and development of mega-events
An assessment of an urban protected area through a space syntax approach: the case of Ordu, Turkiye
Traditional architecture, preserved and integrated into urban life, has the potential to become a point of attraction for cities and contribute to their image. The aim of this study is to analyse the configurational characteristics of the urban conservation area and its immediate surroundings, which constitute the historical core of the city of Ordu, and the general condition of the registered architectural examples in the area. The evaluations of the spatial configuration are based on the analyses of connectivity, global and local integration, which are the basic parameters of the spatial sequence method. As a result of the study, it can be seen that the two main traffic arteries of the area, Sıtkı Can Street and Dr Osman Hilmi Memecan Street, have the highest sequence values. Although it can be seen that Sıtkı Can Street, one of these traffic arteries, is more advantageous than other streets in terms of the registered civil architecture stock in the area, it is important that restoration processes should be implemented as soon as possible in order to ensure structural and historical continuity and not to lose the registered civil architecture examples located in different parts of the study area
A predation model considering a generalist predator and the Rosenzweig functional response
This work deals with the dynamics of an ordinary differential equation system describing a Leslie-Gower predator-prey model with a generalist predator and a non-differentiable functional response proposed by M. L. Rosenzweig, given by h(x) = qxα with 0 < α < 1. Two aspects have a significant impact on the model: (1) the predator’s carrying capacity depends on both the favorite prey population and an alternative food source, and (2) consumers have access to an alternative food source. Among the main results, a separatrix curve Σ arises dividing the phase plane into regions with different dynamic behaviors. Trajectories above the separatrix curve Σ reach the vertical axis in finite time, while those below Σ may converge to positive equilibrium points, limit cycles, or homoclinic connections. Furthermore, the system is non-Lipschitz, implying non-uniqueness of solutions at points of the vertical axis. Several bifurcations, including saddle-node, homoclinic, Hopf, generalized Hopf, and Bogdanov-Takens bifurcations, are identified through the use of computational techniques. The dynamics of the system are visualized by presenting a bifurcation diagram in a convenient parameter space
Viability of automation, robotization and intelligent systems in the last-mile delivery: a roadmap for future research
Cutting-edge technologies in automation, robotization and intelligent systems are emerging in last-mile delivery. However, lacking knowledge on viability is limiting the application and transformation in the final stage of logistics chains. The aim of this article is to identify viable automation, robotization and intelligent solutions and discuss their association for last-mile delivery optimization. This article therefore presents a systematic review of automation, robotization and intelligent solutions, followed by empirical data collected from a workshop with practitioners and representatives of logistic companies, seeking to identify associated opportunities and challenges. The analysis resulted in 3 clusters of innovative solutions discerned upon functional characteristics. Furthermore, the acquired empirical data enabled co-relation from theory and practice to both ensuing opportunities and challenges. By analysing the input by practitioners in the field, we propose internal development and spillover effects as deriving opportunities, technical requirements, and societal concerns as emanating challenges. Based on the diversity of opportunities and challenges associated to each solution, this study proposes a roadmap for future research
The impact of the automatic terminal information service on airspace capacity and air traffic controllers workload
The Automatic Terminal Information Service (ATIS) is an important part of the organization of air traffic, which automatically provides pilots with important information about the status of the airport, runways in use, meteorological and other important data. In the absence of ATIS, air traffic controllers (ATC) must repeatedly relay this information, increasing communication demands and potentially contributing to ATC workload and operational inefficiencies. This study investigates the impact of ATIS implementation on sector capacity and controller workload. The research utilizes a year-long observational dataset from a regional airport operating without ATIS, where controller–pilot communication durations and frequencies were recorded under live operational conditions. Communication parameters, including the number of transmissions, mean message duration, and controller availability factor, were extracted and used to model sector capacity according to the Instruction of the Aeronautics Command (ICA) 100-30 methodology. The introduction of ATIS was then simulated by adjusting these parameters to reflect the automated transmission of routine information. Results show that ATIS significantly reduces the number and average duration of controller–pilot communications, leading to an increase in controller availability. Consequently, sector capacity rose by 36.03% for fixed-wing aircraft and 37.56% for rotorcraft. Statistical testing confirmed that these improvements were not attributable to random variation. The findings suggest that implementing ATIS can support more efficient communication, contribute to reducing controller workload, and may lead to a noticeable increase in sector capacity
Effectiveness of a mindfulness-based training program to improve creative self-efficacy among a sample of secondary school students
To motivating creativity among students, creative self-efficacy is one of the most important indicators, as it refers to individuals’ beliefs about their creative abilities, their motivation towards creativity, and possession of the necessary knowledge for creativity. The main objective of this study is to identify the effectiveness of a training program based on mindfulness, in improving creative self-efficacy. 30 eighth grade students, experimental and control groups included 15 students. The training program experimental group received a training program of 13 sessions, while the control group was not included. Assessment using the creative self-efficacy scale showed that the experimental group students scored higher on the creative self-efficacy table and its subscales than the students in the control group, and showed a positive effect of the mindfulness-based training program in improving creative self-efficacy among a group of secondary school students
