Abstract
Journalists and the media play a crucial yet highly risky role when operating in conflict zones. International Humanitarian Law (IHL), through the provisions of the Geneva Conventions and Additional Protocols, guarantees protection for journalists and the media in wartime. However, there are frequent instances of negligence in its implementation. This study examines the application of IHL in safeguarding journalists and media in conflict zones, focusing on the Israel-Hamas and Russia-Ukraine wars. The analysis explores how IHL provisions are applied, the challenges faced in enforcement, and the international response to overcoming these barriers. A qualitative approach is employed, using secondary data, comparative case study methodology, and comparative data analysis techniques to examine both cases. The findings reveal that in both conflicts, the protection of journalists under IHL is weak, with journalists facing physical threats, restricted access, and a lack of legal adaptation to the realities of modern warfare. Identified challenges include national security concerns that view journalistic activities with suspicion, the evolving nature of warfare that complicates the identification and protection of journalists, and the limited scope of international legal frameworks to address modern warfare. Moreover, the research shows that the international community pays more attention to the failure of international law implementation in Russia-Ukraine. Recommendations emphasize strengthening international legal frameworks, enhancing global collaboration, and improving international mechanisms for addressing violations more effectively
Valproic Acid For Refractory Post-Traumatic Dizziness and Photopsia
Introduction: Post-concussion syndrome (PCS) is a collection of cognitive, vestibular, and visual symptoms that may persist after mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI). Current management is largely supportive, highlighting the need for alternative pharmacologic approaches. This case report explores the therapeutic potential of valproic acid (VPA), a compound with neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory effects.Case Presentation: A 28-year-old woman presented with persistent vertigo and visual disturbances, including photopsia, following a mild head injury sustained in a motor vehicle accident. Neurological examination and imaging were unremarkable. Symptomatic therapies provided only partial and temporary relief, prompting the trial of VPA. The patient subsequently experienced gradual clinical improvement, achieving complete symptom resolution within six months and maintaining remission after discontinuation of treatment.Discussion: The patient’s symptoms were attributed to functional disturbances involving the occipital cortex and vestibular pathways, commonly implicated in PCS. Hypothesized contributors included ionic disequilibrium, cortical hyperexcitability, and neuroinflammatory processes. Beyond its traditional use as an antiepileptic, VPA may offer therapeutic advantages in PCS through GABAergic modulation, Histone Deacetylase (HDAC) inhibition, and anti-inflammatory actions. Conclusions: This case highlights VPA as a promising pharmacologic option for refractory PCS. However, further studies are required to determine its efficacy, optimal dosage, and safety profile in this setting. Keywords: Post-Concussion Syndrome; Valproic Acid; Mild Traumatic Brain Injury; Vestibular Symptoms; Visual Dysfunctio

UNDERSTANDING THE IMPACT OF DIGITAL BEHAVIOR ON SKINCARE PURCHASES
Social media interactions in the rapidly evolving digital marketplace increasingly shape consumer purchasing behavior. This study investigates the influence of Electronic Word of Mouth (e-WOM) and price perception on purchase intention, with brand image as a mediating variable, using the Indonesian skincare brand Skintific as a case study. Utilizing a quantitative approach with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) on data from 372 TikTok users in West Jakarta, the findings reveal that e-WOM significantly impacts purchase intention but does not significantly affect brand image. Conversely, price perception exerts a strong influence on brand image and, indirectly, on purchase intention. Brand image significantly mediates the relationship between independent variables and purchase intention. These insights suggest that while e-WOM remains essential for influencing immediate purchasing decisions, price perception plays a more substantial role in shaping brand image, which drives long-term consumer loyalty. The study contributes to digital marketing literature by highlighting the nuanced interplay between user-generated content, pricing strategies, and consumer behavior in social commerce
