Enhancing Supply Chain Resilience Through Supply Chain Finance: Moderating Role of Supply Chain Disruption

Developing countries face economic disruptions due to financing limitations generated by traditional financing practices. Although supply chain finance (SCF) is recognized as a significant financing strategy in academic literature, it is still overlooked as a proactive financial strategy to mitigate disruptions. Recent research has examined SCF as a strategic approach, and how it mitigates disruptions caused by funding system deficiencies, ultimately enhancing supply chain resilience SCR. We extensively reviewed the current literature and tested hypotheses using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) with survey data collected from manufacturing firms in Pakistan. Our study findings indicate that the adoption of SCF is primarily influenced by three factors: collaboration, the role of financial institutes, and digitalization. Furthermore, our research offers empirical evidence supporting the use of SCF to enhance SCR. Moreover, we validate that the role of supply chain disruption SCD is negative but significant in the relationship between SCF and SCR. This paper fills a gap in the current stream of literature by empirically investigating the impact of SCF on achieving SCR. The novelty of this study lies in integrating the antecedents and consequences of SCF adoption into a single framework

Digital Financial Inclusion and Environmental Sustainability Nexus: Evidence from South Asian Economies

The concept of digital financial inclusion (DFI) has gained considerable attention in recent years due to its emergence as a prominent development strategy in several nations. While environmental sustainability is one of the biggest aims of the earth today. This study examines the impact of DFI on the environmental sustainability of the South Asian region (Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Afghanistan) from 2011 to 2021. Using STATA, the study employed the generalized method of moments (GMM) technique, and the empirical evidence demonstrates that DFI has a significant negative impact on environmental sustainability by increasing CO2 emissions. In addition, study indicates that the growing number of internet users and renewable energy consumption have a substantial adverse effect on CO2 emissions per capita. This suggests that the increased use of the internet and renewable energy consumption contribute to environmental sustainability. On the other hand, Population growth also has a significant negative impact on CO2 emissions per capita and GDP growth and industrialization has no significant impact on environmental sustainability. These findings indicate that policymakers in the South Asian region should design policies that promote DFI and the use of new technology in such a way that stimulate business activities and achieve environmental sustainability

Organizational Identification and Extra-Role Behavior: Mediating Role of Communal Orientation and Psychological Well-being

Organizations need competent human resources to cope with unpredictable technological and environmental changes for their survival. One of the main human resources facets is taking ownership of the organization’s activities and performing extra duties for the organization\u27s welfare. Hence, the extra role behavior of employees plays a vital role in being competitive in this complex and uncertain business environment. The study aims to find the antecedents of extra-role behavior, like organizational identification, communal orientation, psychological well-being, and perceived corporate social responsibility. This study has presented a comprehensive new behavioral mechanism model for understanding antecedents of extra-role behavior with the help of social identity theory, unlike previous studies that included a few sets of variables. For this purpose, a cross-sectional study is conducted, and a well-structured questionnaire is established to distribute to Pakistan\u27s IT firms. The data is collected from the 383 employees working on different levels / designations in software houses / IT companies. Structural equation modeling (SEM) is used to test path analysis, and Hayes macro process is used for moderation testing. After analyzing the data, it is found that organizational identification is directly related to extrarole behavior and communal orientation; psychological well-being can also relate to their relationship by performing a role as mediators. Additionally, perceived corporate social responsibility as a moderator strengthens the relationship between organizational identification and communal orientation

Environmental Impact of Digital Financial Inclusion and Green Growth: Insights from Global Panel Data Analysis

This paper analyzes the environmental effects of digital financial inclusion (DFI) along with green growth using panel data from 102 economies over the period 1990-2022. The analysis used mobile cellular subscriptions (MCSs), bank branches (BB), and automated teller machines (ATMs) as proxy variables of DFI. The empirical results are estimated employing Pooled Ordinary Least Square (POLS) and Method of Moments Quantile Regression (MMQR) estimation approaches. The findings suggest that an increase in DFI reduces environmental quality. Intriguingly, a comparative assessment of DFI measures indicates that while an increase in MCSs is associated with an enhancement of environmental quality, the proliferation of BB and ATMs tends to diminish it. The analysis shows that green economic growth leads to lower emissions. The environmentally improving effect of green growth remains robust across all quantiles. The analysis also validates the Pollution Halo Hypothesis, shedding light on the point where expanding economies begin to curtail environmental degradation. Altogether, this study enhances the literature by conducting a comprehensive analysis of the interplay between DFI, green growth, and environmental quality, offering valuable insights for policy formulation in the contemporary digitally driven and environmentally aware global landscape

Strategic Motives, Proactive Environmental Strategies and Corporate Performance: Role of Business Model Innovation and Competitive Intensity

Rapidly increasing environmental concerns drive corporations to enhance their performance through measures designed to make environmental activities appealing to stakeholders. Therefore, this study investigates the influence of strategic and regulation based motives on corporate performance and explores the mediating role of proactive environmental strategies, along with the moderating effects of business model innovation and competitive intensity. Quantitative data from the Pakistani manufacturing sector is gathered through a self-administered survey, and the hypotheses are tested using PLS-SEM with SmartPLS 4. The findings indicate that strategic motives indirectly impact corporate performance by adopting PES. Furthermore, the results reveal that business model innovation and competitive intensity influence the relationship between strategic motives and PES. This study has significant implications for managers actively seeking ways to enhance their corporates\u27 performance through proactive environmental strategies. Moreover, policymakers can use these findings to inform the design of policies promoting environmental protection. This study contributes to the Natural Resource-based View (NRBV) and highlights the critical role of PES in enabling corporates to enhance their appeal to stakeholders and ultimately improve their performance

FDI and Poverty in-line with Quality of Governance and Voice and Accountability: Follow-ups Based on Linear and Non-Linear ARDL

The aim of this study is to explore if effects of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) alone on poverty in Pakistan during the time period of 1980 to 2022 are different from those with internal precursors like quality of governance and voice and accountability. For the estimation of effects of FDI on poverty, Linear Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) as well as Non-Linear ARDL (NARDL) are used. The originality of the study depends on the ascertain that FDI alone and as an interaction with private investment, quality of governance, and voice and accountability is explored to locate if the affectations are dissimilar on poverty. FDI is found to be unfavorable for poverty alleviation. The findings are even trivial when used with private investment. However, the effects of FDI as an interaction term with quality of governance and voice and accountability are positive and significant in mitigating poverty. The government is suggested to acquire appropriate quality of governance and voice and accountability in complementary with FDI to address the rising poverty

Attitude toward Nudity and Advertising in General through the Mediation of Offensiveness and Moderation of Cultural Values: Evidence from Pakistan and the United States

Considering the ever-increasing trend of utilizing nudity content in marketing, this study investigates whether consumers’ nudity attitudes modify their attitudes toward advertising in general (AAG) and also tests the mediation of offensiveness in this path. In addition, the study also tests the boundary condition of two cultural values (conservation and openness to change) on the relationship between nudity attitude and offensiveness. A cross-sectional, online survey was used to collect primary data from consumers of Pakistan and the USA (n=311). The analysis through SPSS and PROCESS techniques confirm that offensiveness mediates the relationship between nudity attitudes and AAG. The moderating roles of conservation and openness are also supported. Cultural sensitivity towards nudity has a profound impact on advertising effectiveness and thereby successful advertisements based on nudity in one culture may fail to deliver in another because consumers develop negative AAG. The results suggest that no matter how global the brand may be, a standardized global advertising approach may not work. Therefore, advertisers should not use nudity appeals that may offend consumers in some regions and must consider cultural values when creating advertisements

Usually, adopting technology in the business boosts its performance, but SMEs are still reluctant to adopt modern technology such as ERP. This research has examined link among effort expectancy, task technology fit, and ERP adoption behavior in SMEs in Pakistan. Furthermore, this study examines the moderating effect of trust in technology on the said relationships. This study used a quantitative research technique. Google survey form method used to collect the data from employees of SMEs in Pakistan those having ERP systems. To measure and confirm the hypothesis, the study employed SmartPLS software. The findings show a significant linkage among effort expectancy, ERP adoption behavior, and task technology fit ERP adoption behavior. Besides the significance of direct relationships, the moderating effect of trust in technology is also significant in relation between effort expectancy, ERP adoption behavior, task technology fit and ERP adoption behavior, further strengthening the main hypothesis. This study\u27s findings provide implications for organizations considering implementing an ERP system. By identifying the factors that influence ERP adoption behavior, organizations can develop strategies to increase the likelihood of successful implementation of ERP

Smart Farmers Knowledge-Oriented Leadership and Innovation Performance: The Mediating Role of Knowledge Management, Business Competency, and Innovation Culture for Agritourism

This study focuses on the role of smart farmers in applying what they learned to develop careers and agritourism business in the localities and investigates the relationship between knowledge-oriented leadership and knowledge management on business competency, innovation culture, and innovation performance. This study gathers data from smart farmers in the Thailands educational system who had studied from higher education courses, used their knowledge to develop agritourism, and their communities. The data is collected from 413 smart farmers in each community who attend agritourism. The results from structural equation model (SEM) using AMOS reveals that knowledge-oriented leadership is correlated with knowledge management and innovation performance. Knowledge management is a mediating variable that had a correlation with business competency and innovation culture. While, business competency was not correlated with innovation performance. This likely indicates that smart farmers lacked the knowledge essential to integrating business practices into innovation development. It shows the wide range of knowledge-oriented leadership to solve community problems and explore factors that support agritourism business and innovation goals. The study can prove the relationship of Thai smart farmers with knowledge-oriented leadership to success factors and scarcity variables that require to develop in the future

Corporate Social Responsibility and Ambidextrous Green Innovation: The Role of Green Creativity as Mediator

This study examines how corporate social responsibility (CSR) affects green creativity (GC) and ambidextrous green innovation (AGI). Using information from 220 manufacturing companies in Bangladesh, this paper investigates the function of green creativity as a mediator in the connection between CSR and green innovation. The data were gathered using survey methods through the convenience sampling technique via covariance-based SEM (CB-SEM). Our findings demonstrate that CSR directly affects innovation in green exploitation and exploration. CSR is more associated with green exploration innovation than green exploitation innovation, and CSR positively correlates with green creativity. The study also found that green creativity acts as a mediator between CSR and ambidextrous green innovation, suggesting that improving CSR initiatives can foster green creativity, which can lead to innovation in green exploration and exploitation. The findings suggest that managers should focus on improving their CSR initiatives to foster green creativity, which can lead to innovation in both green exploitation and green exploration
