    Personalizacja polityki na poziomie lokalnym - badania w gminie Słubice

    The article presents theresults of research conductedin the municipality of Slubice. Their results clearly show that at the local level we have to deal with personalization local politics. The research also made it possible to estimate the turn ou tin this area, identify the reasons for absenteeism, an indication of the likely winners of the election for mayor and specify the reasons forvoting for a particular candidate. The project was implemented during the election campaign before the local elections of 2014

    This article explores the role that legitimacy plays in EU. It begins by defining what democratic legitimacy means in the context of policy. The article argues for a broader understanding of legitimacy, based upon of the relationship between political information and political participation. The article then goes on to explore the extent to which democratic legitimacy exists at the European level and at the national level. The article concurs with existing assessments of European sources of legitimacy, namely that is a very little legitimization. This article asks what the role played by democratic legitimacy and what this legitimization can tell us about the nature of EU politic

    Media multitasking, defined as audience behaviour when a person is using two or more media sources simultaneously, is a new phenomenon. Now, only 19% of young people are not multitasking. The way information from multiple media streams is processed is different from the normal information processing means. User’s attention is divided between tasks which makes processing of information shallow. The extent of users exposure to each media source creates problems for media research and advertisers as assessing of the exposure level of is very complicated. However, there has been very little research conducted to give a better understanding users’ interaction with each media source. Further research will identify the benefits of multitasking and allow advertisers to target users effectively

    The aim of this article is to analyze the impact of changes in the electoral formula on the results of local elections in municipalities with more than 20,000 inhabitants. In this municipalities, existing proportional formula was replaced by FPTP system with single member districts. In this study, author makes a comparative analysis of the results of the municipal councils elections since 2002. Empirical analysis is based on quantitative data of the National Electoral Commission. The research proves that the change of the electoral formula was important factor which affected the results of the elections in the municipalities with more than 20,000 inhabitants

    Polish mass immigration to the United Kingdom after 2004 according to the British media, has had a big impact on changing the look of the contemporary Britain. Polish immigrants apear in a public debate but more often are not presented in a good light. The purpose of this paper is to examine the image of the Polish immigrants presented mainly by Daily Mail, one of the most popular newspapers in the UK, which has got a big impact on forming a negative attitude towards Eastern Europeans. The paper doesn’t describe the the scale of the Polish immigration in the UK but it tries to show the way of perception of Poles by British tabloids

    The essay is about the opposition in a political system of People’s Republic of China. First of all, the most important historical changes were described. The next part of a text is connected with a present political situation in China. The rules of political system and the domination of Communist Party of China over other parties are presented. However, the examples of oppositionists’ activity seem to be the most essential. Liu Xiaobo as a symbol of fight for human rights and democracy attracted much attention. Unfortunately, the popularity of opposition movements seems to decrease. The weakness of opposition is an ally to the government. Finally, the text tries to predict the future

On the other hand, one has to examine them on the basis of some relevant variables modifying their use. Jacek Filek’s axiological theory of “demanding by values (a given response)” rooted in thinking of Roman Ingarden, Max Scheler and Nicolai Hartmann contains the best suggestion of such reasons. It has to be referred to important moments such as: who?, whom?, for what?, when?, how long?, etc. It is necessary to avoid a change of this concept into revenge

    This article displays the most important events and political and legal decisions concerning so called screening process in Poland after 1989. It shows both original serious proposals of the parliament acts and their later versions. The most known controversial situations, including 1992 “dossier nights” and so called “Wilstein’s list” which was made publicly known in 2005, are widely described. The paper is a trial to find an answer to the question if the screening was eventually conducted and if that problem concerns anyway people of the youngest generation who are becoming adults now. The questions concern both the essence of the screening process and methods which have been chosen to its legislation for the years

    This paper discusses Jarosław Kaczyński’s public utterances from 2007 to 2010. It explains the typical features of a language, political language and the language of opposition. J. Kaczyński’s political language was the language of a leading oppositionist. Populism, performative speech, thematic persistence, labeling, verbosity, prolixity, rhetorical tricks, neologisms, sense of efficacy, arbitrary description of reality are all the examples of his public utterances.
