    Evangelical Church had an important role in the GDR as far as the activities of opposition at the beginning of 1970s and 1980s are concerned. Indeed, it was outside the institution of the Unity Party. Within the vicinity of the church, people were to create a feeling of solidarity between those aggrieved by the system and the first grassroots activists. During 1989 and 1990 Lutheran church became the starting point for mass demonstrations and a peaceful revolution. In addition, the invitation of the party and the opposition to committees’ meeting on Dec. 7, 1989 was published on behalf of the Association of Evangelical Churches

    The aim of this article is to study the philosophical, ideological and political roots of the Third Way concept. The analysis of these aspects should capture the genuine sources of the new faces of European social democracy and prove the thesis that this model is influential in West Europe as well as in Poland. The article asks the question: is the Third Way a political ideology with its own distinctive ‘core’, a loose fusion of different ideologies, or a strategy within an ideological tradition? Moreover, the article is an attempt to examine on what level the formula of the Third Way assume ‘going out’ of the disputes between the left and the right. Finally, the paper examines the correlation between politics of Third Way and the redefinition of political conflict in the Poland after 1989

    One of the most intriguing questions in political philosophy has long been the following: how to organize politics that not only appeases the conflict of groups and individuals but also allows to express even irrational beliefs. The answer that this article has dealt with is a proposition by Chantal Mouffe, called ‘agonistic democracy’. The concept is based on an claim that the exclusion of an emotional component from the public sphere can only lead to a political conflict. An example that confirms Mouffe’s assumptions is the expansion of European populism, which, according to the theory discussed in the article, may only be contained through recognizing the positive value of the conflictive nature of politics

    The article shows the transformation of journalists’ and information’s functions, basing on the examples coming straight from the internet as it is the cause of all changes. Because of the new media, these functions are far more different today than 20 years ago. Traditional journalism is changing because of the Internet. At the same time, it is also coping with the new reality of presenting news. The question is: Can we call it the new journalism? Journamorfosis in Poland is definitely slower than in other countries. However, it is happening. There is higher control over journalists, even taking away their duties. The author proves that Polish journalism, thanks to the new media, finds itself in a different point than 20 years ago and it is still changing
