Labor Demand in the 21st Century: A Systematic Literature Review and Research Agenda: english
This article presents a systematic literature review of research on labor demand published between 2000 and 2025. Drawing on 38 peer-reviewed journal articles, the review synthesizes key theoretical developments, empirical approaches, and contextual applications in the field. It reveals that while neoclassical models and elasticity frameworks remain dominant, more recent studies have begun to integrate technological change, skill-biased dynamics, and institutional factors into labor demand analysis. Despite these advancements, the review identifies several critical gaps, including geographical concentration in high-income countries, underrepresentation of sectoral and skill-level heterogeneity, limited use of advanced econometric and data analytics techniques, and insufficient attention to labor market institutions in empirical models. These gaps hinder the development of comprehensive labor demand frameworks applicable to diverse economic contexts, particularly in emerging economies. The article concludes by outlining a future research agenda that emphasizes methodological innovation, expanded geographical scope, and policy relevance to enhance the understanding of labor demand in a rapidly evolving global economy
Investment Efficiency Analysis in Tangerang Regency Using the Incremental Capital Output Ratio (ICOR)
This study explores investment efficiency in Tangerang Regency through the lens of the Incremental Capital Output Ratio (ICOR). ICOR acts as a key indicator to assess how effectively additional investments contribute to economic growth in the region. As a vital industrial and economic center in Banten Province, Tangerang Regency has seen rapid industrial development and improvements in infrastructure. However, it is essential to evaluate investment efficiency to ensure that these investments positively impact economic growth. The research employs a descriptive quantitative approach, utilizing secondary data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), regional financial reports, and other official sources. The findings reveal that ICOR values in Tangerang Regency have experienced fluctuations over the past few years. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, the ICOR value hovered around 4, indicating relatively efficient investment. However, in 2020, the pandemic's effects resulted in a negative ICOR of -6.04, highlighting ineffective investment in generating additional output. In the post-pandemic period, the ICOR rose to above 5, signaling a need for investment optimization to improve efficienc
Analysis of the Influence of Education Level, Health Level, and Wage Level on Labor Force Participation (Labor Force Participation Rate) On the island of Madura
Economic development is an important part of national development with the main goal of achieving optimal growth. This study aims to analyze the influence of Average School Length (RLS), Life Expectancy (UHH), and Regency/City Minimum Wage (UMK) on the Labor Force Participation Rate (LABOR FORCE PARTICIPATION RATE) on Madura Island, which covers four districts in East Java during the period 2010–2024. This study uses secondary data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (CSA), with a panel data regression analysis method. The results showed that the RLS variable had a positive but insignificant effect on LABOR FORCE PARTICIPATION RATE, indicating that education was not fully able to encourage work participation, possibly due to limited formal employment and skills mismatches. The UHH variable had a positive and significant effect, reflecting that improved health supports long-term work participation. Meanwhile, MSEs show a negative and significant influence on LABOR FORCE PARTICIPATION RATE, which can be caused by wage pressures in the informal sector. These findings imply that improving health quality is more effective in encouraging labor force participation than education and minimum wage policies in the region
Democracy and the Expenditure: Unraveling the Drivers of Poverty Reduction in Indonesia
This study aims to identify and analyze the influence of government expenditure and the quality of democracy on poverty in Indonesia from 2013 to 2023. In this study, secondary data sourced from the Directorate General of Financial Balance (DJPK) and the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) in 28 provinces in Indonesia from 2013 to 2023 were processed using panel regression with the Fixed Effect Model (FEM). The independent variables used in this study consist of government expenditure in the education sector, government expenditure in the health sector, government expenditure in the social protection sector, civil liberties, political rights, and democratic institutions. The research results show that the variables of government expenditure in the education sector, government expenditure in the health sector, political rights, and democratic institutions have a negative impact, while the variables of government expenditure in the social protection sector and civil liberties do not have a significant impact on poverty in Indonesia from 2013 to 2023
The Role Of Brand Image In Mediating Brand Awareness, Social Media Marketing And Price Perception Towards The Purchase Intention Of Customers Wedding Organizer Renjana Project
This study aims to examine the influence of brand awareness, social media marketing, and price perception on purchase intention, with brand image as a mediating variable in the context of the wedding organizer industry. The core research problem addressed is the low conversion of purchase intention despite active social media engagement and growing brand exposure. Unlike previous studies that typically examine these variables in isolation or focus solely on direct effects, this research positions brand image as a central psychological mechanism that explains consumer decision-making. A quantitative approach was employed using Covariance-Based Structural Equation Modeling (CB-SEM) via AMOS, with data collected from 190 respondents through an online questionnaire. CFA results confirmed that all constructs are valid and reliable, and the data met the normality assumption. The findings reveal that brand awareness, social media marketing, and price perception significantly affect brand image; brand image, in turn, has the strongest direct influence on purchase intention and mediates the indirect effects of the three antecedents. This study contributes novel theoretical insights to the service marketing literature by emphasizing the pivotal role of brand image in translating brand communication strategies into consumer purchase behavior

The Effect of Work Environment on Employee Performance Mediated by Job Satisfaction and Work Motivation at the Badan Pembinaan Ideologi Pancasila (BPIP)
This study aims to analyze the effect of the work environment on employee performance by considering the mediating roles of job satisfaction and work motivation at the Badan Pembinaan Ideologi Pancasila (BPIP). The research is motivated by internal and external challenges faced by BPIP as a strategic non-ministerial institution, including budget efficiency policies, fluctuations in key performance indicators, and organizational restructuring. A quantitative method was employed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The sample consisted of BPIP employees selected through purposive sampling. The findings reveal that the work environment significantly affects both job satisfaction and work motivation. Job satisfaction has a significant effect on employee performance, while work motivation does not show a significant impact. The work environment also directly affects employee performance. Furthermore, job satisfaction partially mediates the relationship between the work environment and performance, while work motivation does not serve as a significant mediator. The practical implications highlight the importance of optimizing both physical and non-physical work environment factors to improve employee performance, with job satisfaction identified as a strategic pathway for HR policy development in the public sector
The Dynamics of China's Economy and Its Impact on Indonesia's Economy
This study analyses the impact of China’s economic growth dynamics on Indonesia’s economy through changes in global commodity prices. As a country with significant commodity usage, China’s economic dynamics greatly influence commodity prices at the global level. These fluctuations in commodity prices, in turn, can have negative effects on the economies of poverty-exporting countries including Indonesia. This study analyses the impact of China’s real output growth on the Indonesian economy. Using simultaneous analysis, this study finds that although the effect is not direct, China’s real output growth has a significant impact on Indonesia’s economy through the global non-fuel commodity price index, with these exports accounting for 85 percent of Indonesia’s total export value. The study also found that China plays an important role in influencing global non-fuel commodity prices, where a 10 percent increase in China’s real output can raise global commodity prices by 3.99 percent
