This study investigates the effects of job burnout and psychological contract breach (PCB) on turnover intention among contract employees (PKWT) at PT VADS Indonesia, Yogyakarta Branch, with perceived organisational support (POS) as a moderating variable. A quantitative explanatory approach was employed using survey data collected from 140 contract employees selected through simple random sampling. The data were analysed using SEM-PLS with SmartPLS 3.1. The findings indicate that job burnout has a positive and significant effect on turnover intention, suggesting that higher levels of work-related exhaustion increase employees’ intention to leave. Psychological contract breach also shows a positive and significant influence on turnover intention, reflecting the consequences of unmet implicit employment expectations. Furthermore, perceived organisational support moderates both relationships by weakening the positive effects of job burnout and psychological contract breach on turnover intention. These results highlight the strategic role of organisational support in mitigating adverse psychological conditions and enhancing employee retention within the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industr

Employee performance plays a critical role in ensuring the effectiveness of public sector organizations, particularly government protocol offices that demand high levels of professionalism, responsiveness, and time accuracy. This study aims to examine the effect of work motivation on employee performance, the effect of work motivation on job satisfaction, the effect of job satisfaction on employee performance, and the mediating role of job satisfaction in the relationship between motivation and performance. This study employed a quantitative explanatory approach using a census survey of 50 employees at the Protocol Office of West Lampung Regency, Indonesia. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS 3.0. The results indicate that work motivation has a positive and significant effect on employee performance and job satisfaction. Job satisfaction also significantly influences employee performance. Furthermore, job satisfaction partially mediates the relationship between motivation and employee performance. These findings support Herzberg’s Two-Factor Theory, emphasizing the importance of motivational factors in shaping job satisfaction and performance in public sector organizations. Practically, this study suggests that government institutions should integrate motivational strategies and job satisfaction management to enhance sustainable employee performance

    Get PDF
This study aims to analyze the effect of Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) on employee performance, with work overload as a mediating variable at PT Tuntun Sekuritas Indonesia. The study adopts a quantitative approach using a survey method. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to employees of PT Tuntun Sekuritas Indonesia and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the assistance of AMOS software. The results of the analysis indicate that Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. However, based on the Sobel test results, work overload is not proven to mediate the relationship between OCB and employee performance. This finding suggests that the influence of OCB on employee performance occurs directly rather than through an increased workload mechanism. The results imply that employees’ extra-role behaviors play an important role in enhancing performance in securities companies. Nevertheless, organizations still need to manage workloads proportionally to ensure that OCB does not lead to long-term work fatigue. This study is expected to contribute theoretically to the development of organizational behavior literature and practically to serve as a consideration for management in human resource management

A Sustaining Operational Performance during Command Training: The Interplay of HR Policy, Leadership Sense-making, and Unit Resilience in a Police Context: The Interplay of HR Policy, Leadership Sense-making, and Unit Resilience in a Police Context

    No full text
Career-level training like SESPIM is critical for leadership development in police forces but creates a unique "hybrid work" challenge. For a full semester, officers are physically and mentally detached from their home units ("remote"), creating a performance vacuum in their absence. This study investigates how police organizations manage this inevitable disruption. Existing literature on police training focuses on individual learning outcomes, neglecting the systemic impact on the sending units and the organizational mechanisms that sustain performance during this period. This conceptual paper employs an integrative review, applying a multi-level organizational behavior lens to the specific context of police professional development. We propose that macro-level HR policies (e.g., interim position management, performance accountability protocols) set the stage. However, their effectiveness hinges on the meso-level sensemaking of both the training officer (maintaining virtual influence) and the acting commander at headquarters. This leadership dynamic directly impacts the micro-level resilience processes (shared leadership, procedural adaptation, maintained morale) of the remaining (left-behind) unit, determining its ability to sustain operational performance. The article provides a novel framework for understanding human resource management in law enforcement, offering strategic insights for police leadership on how to strategically plan for and mitigate the performance risks associated with essential long-term training

Generation Technology from Various Types of Biomass, Case Study of Forestry Waste Technology: Sawdust, Wood Chips

    No full text
The global energy crisis and increasing demand for low-carbon energy sources have positioned biomass as a strategic alternative in the transition to renewable energy. Forestry waste such as sawdust and wood chips have great potential to be converted into energy, but their utilization in Indonesia is still not optimal despite their abundant availability. Indonesia produces approximately 146.7 million tons of biomass per year with an estimated energy potential of 470 GJ/year, indicating significant opportunities for energy diversification. This article examines the potential of forestry waste biomass as an energy source, developments in conversion technology, and economic and sustainability challenges. A comparative analysis of the Fujino & Hashimoto (2023) study shows that biomass can provide local economic benefits, but its effectiveness in reducing emissions still depends on supporting technology and policies. The results of the study emphasize the need to develop high-efficiency biomass generation technology and a regulatory framework that encourages the sustainable use of waste so that biomass can play a role as a pillar of national renewable energy

Contextual Geography Learning Based on Field Observation on the Physical Characteristics of the Alo Watershed

    No full text
Geography learning demands an integration between conceptual understanding and empirical experience through direct observation of geospherical phenomena. However, geography learning is still often abstract and has not made optimal use of the surrounding environment as a source of contextual learning. This study aims to examine the geographical physical characteristics of the Alo Watershed (DAS) as a context of contextual geography learning based on field observation. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study method carried out in the Alo watershed, Gorontalo Province. Data collection is carried out through field observation, documentation, and spatial data analysis which includes aspects of geomorphology, geology, hydrology, pedology, and biogeography. The results of the study show that the Alo watershed has an integrated geographical physical characteristics that are spatially arranged from upstream to downstream and can be observed directly in the field. These characteristics are not only available as physical phenomena, but also serve as sources and objects of geography learning that support contextual learning based on field observations. This study concludes that the Alo watershed has the potential to become an integrative and meaningful geography learning context and opens up opportunities for the development of local environment-based geography learning in a sustainable manner
