    No full text
This study explores the relationship between motivational factors (including hygiene factors) and intelligence factors (cultural intelligence and social intelligence) on expatriates\u27 intention to stay and continue working in Pakistan. Additionally, it investigates the mediating role of job satisfaction and the moderating role of social infrastructure in these relationships. A quantitative research approach was adopted, with data gathered through survey questionnaires from a sample of 303 expatriates working in three major Pakistani cities, namely Lahore, Islamabad, and Karachi were involved in this study. The findings reveal a significant and positive relationship between motivational factors, hygiene factors, cultural intelligence, and social intelligence with job satisfaction. Regarding expatriates\u27 intention to stay, all independent variables showed a significant relationship, except for cultural intelligence. Furthermore, job satisfaction was found to be positively associated with expatriates\u27 intention to stay and mediated the relationship between motivational factors, hygiene factors, cultural intelligence, and social intelligence with expatriates\u27 retention intentions. However, the results indicate that social infrastructure does not moderate the relationship between job satisfaction and expatriates’ intention to stay. This study contributes to the existing literature on expatriate retention and offers useful insights for firms and policymakers on the key factors that influence expatriates\u27 decision to remain in a country

FINANCIAL LITERACY, INFRASTRUCTURAL FACILITY AND FINANCIAL INCLUSION OF MICRO, SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISE OWNERS IN NIGERIA

    No full text
More than two billion micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) owners worldwide lack access to financial accounts, while others have sporadic use of financial services. Previous efforts to address this issue primarily focused on financial institutions providing affordable banking products. This study examines the effect of financial literacy on financial inclusion as moderated by infrastructural facilities. The study encompasses 11,289 MSME owners in Ondo State, Nigeria, using exploratory research design. Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics and structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings indicate that independent variables explain 76 percent changes in the dependent variable, with a standardized regression estimate (SRE) of 0.74, significant at 0.05. Additionally, the study finds that infrastructural facilities partially mediate the correlation between independent variables and dependent variable, with coefficient of 0.274, significant at p< 0.05. As a result, the study suggests the implementation of financial inclusion programs, including financial literacy initiatives integrated into school curricula and community programs, to enhance financial knowledge, experience, and awareness among MSME owners in the study areas. Furthermore, the study recommends infrastructural facilities such as mobile phones and mobile internet access to address specific financial inclusion challenges

The THE ROLE OF INTERNAL AUDIT IN PROMOTING ORGANISATIONAL ETHICS AND INTEGRITY

    No full text
Internal auditing has evolved from a traditional compliance function into a strategic mechanism for promoting ethical governance and institutional integrity. Amid increasing public scrutiny over corruption, unethical conduct, and fragile accountability, particularly in public sector institutions, there has been less research to assess how it affects these practices. This paper critically examines the underexplored yet vital role of internal audit in fostering organisational ethics and integrity. The findings reveal that internal audit possesses significant but underleveraged potential in promoting ethical culture and values. Key barriers include insufficient support from top management, inadequate resources, weak integration of ethics into audit planning, and pervasive negative perceptions of the audit function. The study further identifies structural, cultural, and institutional factors that limit the ethical influence of internal auditors.

A Novel Probability Distribution with Robust Parametric Properties

    No full text
The continuous evolution of statistical modelling has spurred the development of novel probability distributions to address complex data challenges. This paper introduces the Topp-Leone Epsilon (TopLE) distribution, derived by combining the Topp-Leone and epsilon distributions. The TopLE distribution exhibits attractive parametric properties, including flexible shape and scale parameters, a closed-form quantile function, and efficient parameter estimation using computational tools. Simulation studies demonstrate the distribution\u27s efficiency, consistency, and stability, making it suitable for a wide range of applications in lifetime data analysis. Two comparative applications with four standard distributions have shown the TopLE distribution to be a competitive choice in modelling real-life datasets. This work contributes to the statistical literature by providing a versatile and competitive model for modern data complexities

Recreating H\u27Mong ethnic culture through the cinematic perspective: The case of the documentary \u27Children of the Mist\u27: (Penciptaan semula budaya etnik H\u27Mong melalui perspektif sinematik: Kajian kes terhadap filem dokumentari Children of the Mist)

    No full text
This study examines how the documentary Children of the Mist (2021) represents the material and spiritual culture of the H’mong ethnic group. Material culture includes housing architecture, traditional clothing, and indigo dyeing techniques, while spiritual culture encompasses marriage customs, festivals, religious beliefs, and social practices. Employing content analysis and cross-referencing with ethnographic literature, the study applies Roland Barthes’ semiotic theory and Hans-Georg Gadamer’s hermeneutic approach to assess the authenticity and symbolic meaning of cultural representations in the film. Findings indicate that the film effectively portrays the distinctive cultural characteristics of the H’mong people, illustrating the tensions between tradition and modernity, particularly regarding child marriage and educational aspirations among younger generations. However, certain details in the film diverge from ethnographic records, such as modifications in marriage practices and ceremonial rituals. This study underscores the crucial role of documentary films in preserving and disseminating ethnic cultures, records of reality but as discursive mediums shaping national and ethnic identity in a globalized context. By depicting the material and spiritual culture of indigenous communities, documentaries can enhance public awareness of cultural heritage while serving as educational tools and platforms for cross-cultural dialogue. To optimize this role, the study advocates for close collaboration between filmmakers and ethnographic scholars to ensure accuracy and representational integrity in cinematic portrayals of ethnic cultures
