    Resource-Based View Theory Application on the Educational Service Quality

    — Background and Objectives: The purpose of this study is to review the resource-based view theory on service quality that contribute to and expand internal resources and services of high quality. Several empirical studies have examined how to apply resource-based view theory to exploiting opportunities in higher education. With the help of this resource-based view theory, urban higher education can apply how to obtain and mobilize additional resources or use existing resources more efficiently and effectively to increase the productivity of existing resources to improve the quality of education services. Perhaps providing high-quality service based views are hampered by a lack of resources for urban education institutions and new ventures, and for them to survive, the resource constraints should address effectively. The issue in this paper is how the RBV theory or concept is to be studied in urban higher education so that researchers and organizations can benefit from this perspective. Methodology: The RBV framework was used to delimit the review so that the research method used in this paper is an empirical approach through a study of journals and supporting journals related to the topic under study. This paper evaluated and reviewed several empirical studies in terms of methodology and strategy that used to apply and implement the resourcebased view theory to improve the service based view quality of students' retention. Many articles indicated quantitative methods as the method strategy, but restrictions showed qualitative and mixed methods that should be concerned in future research. Findings: This article's literature search aimed at obtaining a usable sample of recently published papers to provide a sense of the conceptual gaps, knowledge gaps, methodological gaps and problem gaps in several resource-based (RBV) industries, but lesser are using in education. The dynamics and heterogeneity in this field of science encourage university researchers to develop and strengthen RBV theory. With this development, the concepts and theories of management are expected to be useful for academics. Recommendation & Limitation: On the critical reviews above, specific recommendations may in future serve as the key to enriching resource-based views. In this article, mixed and qualitative methods should be used to obtain accurate results. Additional attention should be paid to future research into higher education institutional resources, and integrate tangible and intangible resources into organizational capacity. Conclusion & Contribution: Resource-based view theory appears to have the capability to leverage resources and create more opportunities with fewer funds when applied to urban systems.     Understanding upper body playing-related musculoskeletal disorders among piano and non-piano players using a photogrammetry

    Objective: Playing-related musculoskeletal disorders (PRMSD) are a common problem for the pianist. The poor upper body ergonomics influences the natural positioning of the neck and shoulders, which involves forward head posture (FHP) and rounded shoulder posture (RSP). This misaligned position could produce a sensation of pain over the upper body, which affects the piano player and computer users with similar ergonomic posture. Recently, photogrammetry methods are commonly applied in a clinical setting to assess posture. The goal of this research is to compare the upper body playing-related muscu-loskeletal disorders between the piano and the non-piano players by applying photogrammetry. Materials and methods: This causal-comparative study includes 70 participants with 35 piano and 35 non-piano players. The participant's FHP was assessed using a digitized photo to record the Craniovertebral angle (CVA) with the support of Kinovea software. Besides, digital Vernier Calliper used to assess the scapular index on the RSP and Neck disability indices (NDI) used to measure neck pain and functional disability of the participants.Results:The findings showed piano players have a higher NDI, lower CVA, and RSP when compared with the non-piano players at a statistically significant level of p-value <0.05.Conclusion: The obtained results conclude piano players are highly prone to the risk of developing PRMSD in the upper body

    Digital Business Transformation

    Digitalization processes is relevant not only at the level of individual enterprises: entire industries choose this path of development for themselves as the only opportunity to meet the rapidly changing conditions of the surrounding world. Thanks to this, the digital transformation of industry, retail, the public sector and other areas is already changing the life of every person and every company. The subject of the research is the concepts of “digital transformation of business” and “digital economy”. In accordance with this goal, a number of terms “digital economy” and “digital transformation” were studied, the differences between them were identified and formulated. The evolution of the terminal process “digital business transformation” is characterized, the reasons causing changes in the interpretation of these concepts are identified, the main approaches to the development of the digitalization process are considered, and the industry specifics of the digital business transformation are studied. As a result of the study, it was found that the terms “digital transformation” and “digital economy” are interpreted differently. The digital economy can be defined as part of the GDP obtained through the use of digital means; digital transformation, in the narrow sense, represents the transition from analog to digital data, and in the broad sense, it is a business transformation through the use of new digital technologies, which leads to new competitive advantages in the digital economy. In conclusion, an author's interpretation of the concept of "digital business transformation" is proposed

    Association of Psychological Stress and Mood in Ankle Injuries among Basketball Players during Conditional Movement Control Order

    Background: Ankle injuries in basketball are very common and have been increasing drastically over the past several decades. Based on studies, it believed that psychological effects play an important role in affecting sports injuries. In addition, during the conditional movement control order (CMCO), the athletes are forced to train at a reduced volume and intensity, which impairs performance and may lead to injury. Objective: This study aims to find the association between psychological stress and mood in ankle injuries among basketball players during CMCO. Methodology: An online questionnaire distributed via Google form links to basketball players who were involved in individual practice in Selangor, Malaysia. The collected data then analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics 25. The Spearman correlation coefficient used to analyze the association between the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS), Profile of Mood State-Short form (POMS-SF) and the Foot Ankle Disability Index (FADI). Results: Prevalence of ankle injuries among basketball players during CMCO was reported at 84.4%. Among the 151 participants, 7.9% had low perceived stress and 92.1% had moderate perceived stress. The association between FADI and PSS did not reach statistical significance, while the association between POMS-SF and FADI was significant at 0.01 and 0.05 level. Conclusion: According to the findings, basketball players are more likely to get ankle injuries, and most players are in a negative mood during CMCO, which affects their regular training and may increase the injury rate

    Knowledge and level of adherence to home exercise program among Malaysian caregivers of children with Cerebral Palsy

    Background: Cerebral palsy (CP) is one of the most prevalent disorders that severely affected the motor function in young children worldwide. It is a condition that requires life-long care and the efforts needed depends on the severity & complexity of the children. To deliver proper care to the CP child according to their needs, caregivers must have fundamental and adequate knowledge about CP. A caregiver plays a crucial role in encouraging and providing assistance to CP children to achieve their highest potential. Exercise programs in CP are lifelong activities prescribed for home, and it varies from children to children according to their disabilities. Objectives: To explore caregivers' knowledge of cerebral palsy and the level of caregivers' adherence to home exercise programs. Method: A cross-sectional survey was conducted with purposive sampling strategy to include the caregivers of CP children from a Non-Governmental Organization for spastic Cerebral Palsy children. A validated self-administered questionnaire was given to the caregivers after they consented to participate in the study. The results were analyzed using descriptive analysis. Result: 57 caregivers participated in the study survey voluntarily. There are only 52.6% of caregivers answered the questions on knowledge of CP correctly. 45% of caregivers adhered to the home exercise program that physiotherapist implements. Conclusion: Caregivers of children with cerebral palsy have a low level of knowledge and low adherence in performing a home exercise program. Empowering the caregivers and creating better awareness of the condition and treatment adherence need to be encouraged

    Predictors of Mobile Video Gaming on Musculoskeletal Pain among University Students in Selangor, Malaysia

    | INTRODUCTION: Mobile video gaming among university students has increased rapidly, more than before the COVID-19 pandemic. This is very concerning as this could spark various problems, such as musculoskeletal pain and gaming disorders. OBJECTIVES: The present study is to identify the predictors of mobile video gaming on musculoskeletal pain among university students in Selangor, Malaysia. PARTICIPANTS AND METHODS: This study was conducted online using a self-reported online questionnaire via Google Form and sent to university students in Selangor, Malaysia. Participants' gaming addiction was measured using the Ten Item Internet Gaming Disorder Test (IGDT-10) questionnaire, and the prevalence of musculoskeletal pain was assessed by the Modified Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire (MNMQ). The data was analyzed using SPSS version 25. A descriptive and binomial linear regression test was used to predict the variables. The statistical significance was set at p < 0.05, and odds ratios were calculated with confidence intervals of 95%. RESULTS: The prevalence of Internet Gaming Disorder among university students in Selangor, Malaysia is 1.8% (n=3). The neck region (74.2%) was the most commonly reported body region with musculoskeletal pain, followed by the shoulder region (60.7 %), lower back region (55.8 %), and upper back region (50.9 %). The body position was the only predictor of mobile video gaming with musculoskeletal pain (p = 0.002) in the lower back region. CONCLUSION: According to the findings of this study, the prevalence of Internet Gaming Disorder (IGD) among university students was low and not addicted to gaming in the Covid-19 lockdown. We also found that participants who sat while playing mobile video games were more likely to develop low back pain. However, one of the limiting factors could be prolonged sitting in virtual classes during the lockdown, which causes low back pain

    Effect of Cognitive Dual Task Training versus Motor Dual Task Training on Balance in Post Stroke Patients

    OBJECTIVE: This study aims to compare the effects of cognitive dual task training and motor dual task training on balance in post stroke patients. INTRODUCTION : Stroke is a disease caused by lack of blood supply to the brain following ischemia or haemorrhage. The reduced motility following stroke results in a body imbalance that appears as asymmetric posture, proprioception disorder and abnormal muscle tone that lead to the degeneration of balancing ability. Dual tasks training is a training in which two or more tasks are performed at the same time continuously. The motor dual tasks requires performance of a motor task and a postural control task at the same time and cognition dual tasks requires performance of a cognition task and postural control task simultaneously. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Thirty participants fulfilling the inclusion criteria were selected and divided into 2 groups with 15 participants each. Participants in CDTT or MDTT practiced the cognitive and motor dual tasks respectively while standing on wobble board. The intervention was for 45 minute / session, 5 days/week for 4 weeks Participants were tested before and after the intervention for balance function under cognitive and motor dual task conditions using berg balance scale, stroop test and standing balance test. RESULTS: Mean values of Group A and Group B on berg balance scale, were (49.47) and (47.40) respectively. Mean values of Group A and Group B on standing balance test were (30.07) and (28.80), and the mean values of Group A and Group B on stroop test were (16.73) and (11.47). On comparing pre test and post test values within Group A and Group B on berg balance scale, standing balance test and stroop test shows highly significant difference in mean values at p ≤ 0.001. CONCLUSION: This study concluded that cognitive dual task training is more effective in improving balance in acute stroke patients with balance impairment, when compared to motor dual task training

    COVID-19 Pandemic- A Review of the Effects on the Environment

    The scourge of the coronavirus diseases-2019 (COVID-19) has caused suffering to human population globally. It is one of the most devastating pandemic in history. With the current lockdown and restriction, there is a concern that this bleak period might spark an even more severe pollution and climate changes once this is over. This paper reviews the effects of post COVID-19 in the environmental perspective. Activities such as agriculture and urbanization has brought about the various input of pollutants into the natural ecosystem of Malaysia. In recent years it has been reported on the rise of the levels of harmful pollutants such as pesticides, heavy metals and hydrocarbons. Therefore, continuous monitoring and remediation researches has been carried out to curb the detrimental effects of pollutants in the natural environments of Malaysia. In this study, we discuss the status, impacts and sources of pollutions globally. It is hoped that the current review will provide a better picture of the current pollution status and to further aid to mitigate the pollution issues we are facing

    A Review on Detection of COVID-19 Cases from Medical Images Using Machine Learning-Based Approach

    The COVID-19 pandemic (the form of coronaviruses) developed at the end of 2019 and spread rapidly to almost every corner of the world. It has infected around 25,334,339 of the world population by the end of September 1, 2020. It has been spreading ever since, and the peak specific to every country has been rising and falling and does not seem to be over yet. Currently, the conventional RT-PCR testing is required to detect COVID-19, but the alternative method for data archiving purposes is certainly another choice for public departments to make. Researchers are trying to use medical images such as X-ray and Computed Tomography (CT) to easily diagnose the virus with the aid of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based software. This review paper provides an investigation of a newly emerging machine-learning method used to detect COVID-19 from X-ray images instead of using other methods of tests performed by medical experts. The facilities of computer vision enable us to develop an automated model that has clinical abilities of early detection of the disease. We have explored the researchers’ focus on the modalities, images of datasets for use by the machine learning methods, and output metrics used to test the research in this field. Finally, the paper concludes by referring to the key problems posed by identifying COVID-19 using machine learning and future work studies. This review's findings can be useful for public and private sectors to utilize the X-ray images and deployment of resources before the pandemic can reach its peaks, enabling the healthcare system with cushion time to bear the impact of the unfavorable circumstances of the pandemic

    Spinal and Pelvic Disposition Associated with Utero-Vaginal Prolapse Among Post-Menopausal Women in Chennai (South India) - A Single Blinded Pilot Study

    Background: Levatorani muscle and pelvic connective tissues provide primary support to the pelvic organs. Women are predisposed to pelvic organ prolapse due to the weakness of pelvic floor muscles and ligament laxity, which is mostly associated with aging and an increase in intra-abdominal pressure that affects the biomechanical properties of the pelvic tissues. Hence, this study aims to find the correlation between the spinal and pelvis disposition among postmenopausal women with and without utero-vaginal prolapse. Methods: Postmenopausal women who met inclusion and exclusion criteria were randomly selected from Saveetha medical college and hospital inpatient and outpatient departments. Following assessment, the postmenopausal women with prolapse were assigned to Group A and without prolapse to Group B. The participants' angle of lumbar lordosis and pelvic inlet angle calculated in reference to lateral lumbosacral spine x-rays by a radiologist who was blinded for the study. The data were analyzed statistically using the MannWhitney test and Spearman’s correlation test. Results: There is a significant reduction in the lumbar lordotic angle and an increase in pelvic inlet angle in Group A (with prolapse) compared with Group B (without prolapse). Hence, there is an inversely proportional correlation between the lumbar lordosis and pelvic inlet angle. Conclusion: The changes in lumbar lordosis angle and pelvic inlet orientation may cause pelvic floor muscle weakness, which indirectly contributes to utero-vaginal prolapse. This study certainly emphasizes the importance of postural analysis and corrective pelvic floor therapy regimens for women with utero-vaginal prolapse
