The acquisition of Air India- a prodigal child by the Tata Group is the talk of the town. Air India was a prosperous airline till it was with its Indian aviator- JRD Tata. It started suffering losses since 2007-08, all turnaround and financial restructuring plans failed to work out and the Government had to pay Rs. 20 crore per day to keep it alive. Its disinvestment failed in 2017 but finally in 2020 Government sweetened the deal for the buyers by selling 100% of its stake in the airlines and Tata Group won the bid. This research paper deeply analyzes the case of acquisition of Air India by the Tatas, discovers the facts which led to its catastrophe, examines the consequences of its failure, records the issues which came in the way of its sale, assesses the viability of its restructuring via- 100 per cent disinvestment plan and sheds light on the gravity of business restructuring mechanism. It also examines the facts, issues and decision of the case. This case is very important as Air India was once a pinnacle airlines of India and also amongst the major international airlines of the world. It is a prominent case to underscore the significance of business restructuring tools for the rehabilitation of sick yet viable companies and the economy. The World Bank’s research also recognizes that effective corporate reforms can reduce the cost of credit, increase timely repayments and lower liquidate rate amongst economically distressed companies. The researcher in this study evinces that the companies should not rely on debt and should keep a close eye on the debt because debt is one of the prime reasons for the collapse of a company and economy. Air India’s restructuring is though a herculean task for the Tatas but still it is the best route for its resurrection as the acquisition will help in using the synergies of both the companies and at the end of the day it will be beneficial for the Indian Economy as a whole. The researcher eventually suggests that the Tatas should try to reduce costs, debt burden, make best use of available talent and resources, incorporate new technologies, expand its operations and implement an effective framework. The study also puts forward that due to the aftermath of COVID-19, large number of small and medium sized companies have become sick and are suffering losses, so for them corporate restructuring is the solution to revive. This novel research study will prove to be a principal research study for the researchers, policy makers and professionals in conducting future researches to study the impact of business restructuring (via, takeover of Air India). Since, Air India is recently acquired in January, 2022 so the effect can’t be studied at the present stage. A comparison of various ratios and statistical tools before and after restructuring can be done in the following years to measure the benefits of restructuring of Air India

With the world rapidly adapting to online education, preschoolers are left behind to cope with this new approach to learning. In reality, preschoolers require more engagement and interaction; they require hands-on activities/exercises to stimulate their learning progress. As a solution, the author came up with an e-learning application that implements machine learning and image/text recognition for a subtle and fun way of learning. The application has three basic learning activities such as the alphabet, numbers, and color activity. For the alphabet and number activity, the application will simply take the student’s hand-drawn input from the built-in canvas, run it through the image processing/recognition and instantaneously allocate points for the student based on their answer. The color activity is slightly adventurous, where the students will take pictures of a particular color based on the given question, this allows the students to wander around their surroundings making it more interactive and fun. The application additionally includes the student analysis function, which is a detailed student management system with the capability to track student progress and identify their interest to find out their strengths and weaknesses in a particular subject based on the points and activity involvements. The application also has an in-app monitoring and ranking system along with individual student profiles that make student management easier for a larger group of students in a learning center or kindergarten

Current mode of cashless payment in Malaysia has reached maturity. E-wallet players has transcended globally, more so with the onset of Covid-19 pandemic that mandated social distancing in early 2020. The renewed and acute need awareness triggered an immense support of e-wallet adoption. Yet, contrary to expectations, only 11% of the total population adopts e-wallet which is one-fifth of total smartphone users in the nation. More than 50% of Malaysia’s revenue comes from taxes. However, substantial revenue is lost through high tax evasion due to less traceable transactions and increased illegal financial outflow. Quenching this curiosity, the research explores factors influencing adoption of e-wallet based on constructs of knowledge, perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, social influence. Besides, a regional distribution, and the mediating effect of perceived trust between knowledge and intention to adopt e-wallet is examined. Notwithstanding the current technological prevalence in Malaysians’ lifestyle, perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness is purposedly posed as respective independent variables rather than as a mediator as in the Technology Acceptance Model. Using a quantitative approach and purposive sampling technique, data collection is engineered to have a prerequisite of minimum 50 respondents per region. Based on parameters of two tailed test with confidence interval of 95% (significance level 0.05), a total of 400 responses were analysed via SmartPLS with PLS-SEM algorithm. Knowledge, perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and the mediating effect of perceived trust on knowledge were found significant. Thus, both the daily performance improvement and effort to manoeuvre e-wallet are essential. Social influence was, however, found insignificant. It could imply that promoting e-wallet adoption through advertisements and peer reviews is not adequate as generally expected. In contrary, enhancing user experience of the e-wallet adopters in terms of ease of use and usefulness is the ultimate key. Regional distribution findings showed that Northern Region (Perlis, Kedah, Penang, and Perak) has the highest e-wallet adoption rate of 94.4%, followed closely by Central Region (Selangor, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya) at 92.3%. Reminiscing upon a current launch of e-Tunai (e-cash) at Penang at time of the study, practical knowledge is found to be impactful in influencing the intention to adopt e-wallet. As such, opportunities are abundant for relevant stakeholders to strategize and enhance e-wallet adoption among the public as well as the under-served community

One of the most extensive desalination facilities, the multi-stage flash (MSF) system uses saltwater to create desalinated water, which is then utilized to develop high productivity fresh (sweet) or non-salt water. The operation of MSF plants is depending on using thermal energy to evaporate some vapor (pure water) from the seawater based on the reduction in the operating pressure, which the generated vapor will condense to form the product. This article will outline the design of the brine heater and the one-stage (just the first stage) MSF system. The thermal performance (MSF plant efficiency) of the suggested system (one-stage of MSF), measured by Gain Output Ratio, reaches 0.45 (very low value). Therefore, the MSF plants must be designed with multi-stages to increase its thermal performance. A parametric study has been done to study the effect of tube length and vapor temperature on the number of tubes
