Genetic Algorithm for Forecasting Bioinformatic Outcomes of Mutation-induced Cowpeas for Sustainable Development
The application of data engineering techniques like a genetic algorithm in forecasting outcomes in
plant genetics and breeding can help solve the twin problems of food insecurity and insufficiency.
To demonstrate the practicality of using artificial intelligence (AI) to address these problems, the
genetic algorithm is applied to genetic engineering (genetic mutation) of cowpea in a crop
improvement program to generate useful bioinformatic information for further improvement of the
crop. The aim of this work is to address malnutrition, immune deficiency, hunger, and poverty as
canvassed in United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 1 and 2 (SDGs 1 and 2). Three
genotypes (specifies) of cowpea obtained from Kontagora in Niger State of Nigeria were treated
with chemical and physical mutagens: 200, 400, 600, and 800 of ethyl methane sulphonate (EMS)
and 0.372gy of gamma rays. The study applied genetic algorithm as a stochastic optimizer using
Python programming to determine the convergence pattern for obtaining an optimal cowpea
solution that combines high yield and drought-tolerance. Huge data was generated in three iterative
experiments. The outcomes of the three experiments showed that in experiment 1, the convergence
occurred in the 9412th generation while in experiment 2, we obtained convergence in the 899th
generation of the cowpea. Experiments show that the genetic mutation resulted in phenotypic traits
in the first-generation offspring. The result of the third experiment indicated that the optimal
cowpea solution was obtained in the 14338th generation. This implies that the use of AI (genetic
algorithm) in ensuring food security and sufficiency may be time-consuming but would result in
the desired traits in crops for meeting the 4 pillars of sustainability (human, social, economic and
environmental)
Effect of Posterior Tibial Nerve Stimulation on Fecal Incontinence among Geriatrics
Background and aim: Incontinence is one of the most common causes for admission to a residential facility. Fecal incontinence becomes more prevalent at the age of 70. In both men and women, fecal incontinence is a common condition, particularly among the elderly. Although a few research suggests that posterior tibial nerve stimulation can aid with fecal incontinence, more research is needed. Preoperative and postoperative measures are compared to determine treatment outcomes. Thus, the goal of this research is to see how posterior tibial nerve stimulation affects fecal incontinence in geriatrics.
Methods: The research was conducted as a pilot study at SIMATS, using samples taken from Saveetha hospital's neuro IPD and physiotherapy OPD. A total of 15 patients were chosen at random based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The research included both geriatric men and women with fecal incontinence who were examined using the Wexner score prior and after intervention. The posterior tibial nerve was stimulated with electrical stimulation twice a day for 4 weeks.
Result: The occurrence of incontinent episodes in geriatric individuals was drastically decreased, with a significant value of p<0.001.
Conclusion: The use of posterior tibial nerve stimulation in the elderly has been proven to be a successful therapy technique for reducing fecal incontinence episodes. In terms of treatment, the findings of this study seem promising

Effect of Agility Drills along with Reaction Time Exercises on Agility and Reaction Speed among Collegiate Badminton Players
Background: Badminton is a game of small margin where every milli second counts. In badminton as the shuttle moves in an incredible speed the player will have a very minimal amount of time to react and execute the shot. Reaction time and Agility are the two main important components that have to be trained along with other regular exercises.
Objective: To find the effectiveness of Agility drills along with Reaction time exercises on Agility and Reaction speed among collegiate badminton players.
Methods: A Quasi experimental study was conducted on 18 badminton players; they were divided into 2 groups with 9 in each group based on purposive sampling technique. Group A underwent Agility drills along with Reaction time exercises and Group B underwent conventional exercises. South east Missouri agility test was used to measure the Agility and Reaction time ruler drop test was used to measure reaction time.
Results: An Independent t-test was used to compare the results between two groups. Significant difference was found on both outcome measures, the South east Missouri agility test values of group A was 11.3 seconds and in group B was 12.06 seconds. Where as in Reaction time ruler drop test values on Group A was 0.17 seconds and in Group B was 0.20 seconds. The results suggest that Group A which undergone Agility drills along with Reaction time exercises shown significant improvement than Group B that underwent conventional exercises in all parameters following intervention.
Conclusion: The study concludes that the Agility drills along with Reaction time exercises is more effective in improving Agility and Reaction speed than Conventional exercises in collegiate badminton players, as it improves the hand eye coordination as well as the time required to reach the shuttle becomes faster through the increased processing rate by the sense of stimuli by the central nervous system and its response in form of motor response
WORK-LIFE BALANCE AND CAREER SUCCESS OF ACADEMIC STAFF IN NIGERIAN PUBLIC UNIVERSITIES: THE MODERATING ROLE OF DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY
Achieving success in career is a major accomplishment an average employee looks forward to and the academics of Nigerian Public Universities are not an exception. The purpose of this research was to examine the empirical relationship between work-life balance and career success of academic staff of Nigerian Public Universities with digital technology as the moderating variable. Work-life balance dimensions used are flexi-time and job-sharing, while, job security, and promotion were used to measure career success. 6,836 academic staff formed the population of the study. Taro Yamane's formula was used to obtain a sample size of 378. Descriptive survey design was used. Spearman Rank Order Correlation Coefficient and Partial Correlation Coefficient was used as tool for analysis. Findings showed that flexi-time and job sharing have low but positive significant relationship with job security and promotion.Digital technology positively and significantly influences the relationship between work-life balance and career success. Based on the findings the study recommends policymakers at every level involved in university management to advocate for academic’s flex-time arrangement, this will increase their satisfaction on the job thereby jettison the intention to quit. also, public universities should employ more academic staff for effective job-sharing practice
Efficacy of Core Muscle Stabilization in Chronic Nonspecific Low Back Pain Patients – A Systematic Review
Background: Low back pain referred as pain localized between the 12th rib and the inferior gluteal folds with included leg pain sometimes not, most cases are nonspecific but in about 10% of cases a specific cause is identified. The major causes of low back pain are weakness of superficial trunk muscles, abdominal muscles and motor control or delayed activation of deep muscles (multifidus and transversus abdominis). Hence Core Stabilization exercise provides greater support to the spine, control of lumbar deep muscles and pelvis, and integration of activity of superficial and deep trunk muscles.
Aim:The aim of the study is to determine the efficacy of core muscle stabilization exercise in chronic nonspecific low back pain patients.
Search Method: Studies were collected from databases Google scholar, PubMed, Cochrane library, Research gate, CINAHL Medicine.
Methodology: Inclusion criteria was Randomized or quasi-randomized controlled trial studies and Experimental study design. Sample size was 245 articles, 188 articles were collected from Google scholar, 28 articles from PubMed, and 29 articles from Cochrane library. Methodology of the Study was designed as Systematic review.
Results: Out of 245 published studies, we selected 14 articles which describing about efficacy of core muscle stabilization exercise in chronic nonspecific low back pain, among which 8 articles discussed about the effectiveness of core stabilization exercise, 2 articles about lumbar stabilization, 2 articles about Pilates based exercise, 2 articles about segmental stabilization in reducing chronic nonspecific low back pain.
Conclusion: By reviewing the study, we conclude that core muscle stabilization exercise is effective in reducing the chronic nonspecific low back pain (CNSLBP)
Effect of Modified Breathing Exercise to Improve Abdominal Strength in Caesarean Section Women
Background: The present National Policy for Health Promotion places a strong emphasis on raising public awareness of the importance of various forms of health and exercise. The women musculoskeletal system is impacted by several physiological events that take place during pregnancy. The inter-recti distance (IRD) typically increases and the abdominal muscles are stretched greatly which weakens the abdominal muscles. One of the lives saving procedures used on women most frequently today is a caesarean section (CS) for delivery.
Objective: To evaluate the effect of modified Breathing Exercise and Abdominal Draw-in Maneuver to improve Abdominal strength in Post CS Women.
Methods: A single blinded pilot randomized controlled trial was conducted on CS women. Post CS women were divided into 2 groups, that is group ADM (Abdominal Draw-in Maneuver) and group CBE (Corset Breathing Exercise) based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. The outcomes used in the study were pressure biofeedback unit and Abdominal curl test. Group ADM are treated with Abdominal Draw-in Maneuver and group CBE treated with Corset Breathing Exercise.
Result: The result of the study showed that there was a significant difference between the groups. Statistical analysis of posttest vales of pressure biofeedback unit and Abdominal curl test revealed that post CS women who received Corset Breathing Exercise in group CBE showed marked improved compared to group ADM, the p value for both the outcomes are less than 0.001(P< 0.001).
Conclusion: This study concluded that both groups ADM and CBE resulted in positive outcomes but group CBE with Corset Breathing Exercise showed more positive outcome in improving abdominal muscle strength

Genetic Mutation of Cowpea as a Constrained Stochastic Optimization Problem in Sustainability
The search for desirable qualities in crop using non-natural breeding techniques like genetic
mutation has to ensure a balance between the pillars of sustainability (human, social, economic
and environmental)- Candidate optimization crop breeds target food security and sufficiency for
humans, improved income-earning capacity of farmers, better social (societal) interactions, and
environmental protection. This is to ensure we meet the needs of the present generation while not
compromising on the needs of future generations. However, uncertainties surround the genetic
engineering process, potentially making genetic mutation for sustainability a constrained
stochastic optimization (CSO) problem. Using series of experiments in Python programming, we
applied genetic algorithm to the genetic mutation of cowpea, a tropical leguminous plant and
protein-rich crop. Our experiments with genetic algorithm as a stochastic optimizer, confirmed
that the evolution from the initial random string (initial cowpea species) to the target string
(optimal cowpea solution) was smeared by uncertainties in the optimization-for-sustainability
effort. In any case, cowpeas with the desired qualities of drought tolerance and high yield gradually
emerged as we progressed from the first generation (M1) to subsequent generations with the aim
of meeting the sustainability targets
