An Investigation Into The Interactive Role of Interest Rate Spread, Inflation, Foreign Direct Investment and Economic Growth in the Corporate Debt Financing: A Case Study of Pakistan
This study aims to investigate the dynamic relationship among the corporate financial policy,
macroeconomic and institutional factors through error correction model in Pakistan over the period
from 1975 to 2013. We used the cointegration methodology to study the long run short run effect of
selected macroeconomic factors on the corporate borrowing patterns. The direction of causality is
studied by Granger causality test within the framework of VECM. We note that inflation, foreign direct
investment, and economic growth are significant determinants of long-run corporate financial policy.
Interest rate spread has a negative short-run impact on the corporate borrowing. There is a long run
capital structure equilibrium and any deviation from the long-run path is corrected at the rate of 23%
annually if other things remain same. We also found that there is a reciprocal causal relation between
corporate financial policy and economic growth. Corporate financial policy induces the FDI in the
short run. The empirical results indicate that the corporate financial policy shares a stochastic linear
trend with a country's macroeconomic and financial conditions.

Load margin expansion for sustainable power system operation
An efficient reactive power management is important in providing secured operation for a power system in terms of maintaining its stability condition. Lack of safe operating margin and reactive power support were known to cause a system to operate in an unstable voltage condition. Hence, voltage stability improvement must be planned properly so that the likeliness to instability event could be determined before the more severe event of blackout could occur in a system. For that reason, the application of the developed a new optimization technique namely Adaptive Tumbling Bacterial Foraging (ATBO) was to obtain the most possible optimal Reactive Power Planning (RPP) solution. The objective of RPP problem was not only to minimize the total power losses in a system but was also extended in terms of voltage stability and now termed as security constrained RPP (SCRPP). In order to ensure maximum benefit while ensuring secure operating condition and minimum impact to environment,
the proposed ATBFO and Multi objective ATBFO (MOATBFO) were utilized to solve for the single and multi-objective for SCRPP issues. The performance of the proposed techniques were comprehensive analyzed between two other familiar optimization methods known as original Bacterial Foraging Optimization (BFO) algorithm and Meta heuristic Evolutionary Programming (Meta-EP) for standard IEEE 57 bus system. From the results it shows that the multi objective ATBFO optimization is able to give better overall improvement among all objective functions of
SCRPP
C4.5 Algorithm Application for Prediction of Self Candidate New Students in Higher Education
Data mining has background with the condition of an abundance of data (the overload data) and the explosion information faced by companies, institutions or organizations that are stored for many years. This situation is also faced in several universities that stores various kinds of data, especially new admissions database. But the abundant data has not been widely used in digging the information or knowledge that can help university management in making strategic plans. Every year there are new students who retire that do not register, therefore, it takes an application that can process a lot of data to find out the possible retirement for new students. To find out the prediction retirement prospective students, this paper uses C.45 algorithm. The method can change the a very large fact into a decision tree that represents the rule. The result of this research is tthe application can classify the new students in tree structure in order that it can produce a rule. This application is able to predict the possibility of the retirement of new student. With this application, it is expected that the possibility of a prospective student will retire from college can be known at an early stage, so the management can make a decision easily. Development of this application built uses PHP as the interface application system and MySql in database processing. System development methodology is used the waterfall model
Rise in AeU's Online Master of Education Program
Ten years ago, getting a Master's degree in Education meant one of two things for the average working professional: either burning the candle a both ends for a couple of years to make time for both classes and work force to focus on going back to university

Critical Factors Affecting the Quality Management System in Oil & Gas On-Shore Drilling Sector for In-Sourcing Drilling Model.
The intention of this research is to define the critical variables which are affecting the overall quality management system and develop a sustainable quality management system (SQMS) for Oil and Gas sector, specifically for On-shore drilling operations, by
which it will enhance the overall performance for the In-Sourcing drilling model. However, the intention of this paper (Part-1) is to demonstrate the road map of developing the conceptual framework which is driven from other different quality theoretical frameworks and models (where it was concluded after a comprehensive literature review that there is no fit for purpose QMS in a
specific sector, instead companies depend on generic frameworks such as ISO: 9001, etc). The concluded results are that conceptual framework consists of in-dependent variables which are (competency framework,
preventive maintenance, management of change (MOC) and people recognition and dependent variable which is the overall performance by establishing a sustainable quality management system. The author used the Total Quality Management (TQM) model (focusing on three areas which are technology and digitalization assurance and lean) to study the effect of independent variable on the overall performance. In part 2, all the sampling and data analysis will be demonstrated to confirm the proposed
conceptual framework as described in part1
The Effects of Psychological Contract on Employees Performance in Sarawak Hotel Industry.
This study investigates the effects of psychological contract on the employees’ performance and the influence of generation affiliation on the relationship between psychological contract and employees’ performance. Specifically, selected social-psychological and human care factors were analyzed. This was accomplished after a concise review of relevant literature which resulted in the development of research objectives and a general conceptual framework with hypotheses to guide the study.
Data were collected from a sample of 320 full-time hoteliers in Sarawak’s Five Star Hotels through a survey questionnaire. Structural equation modeling analyses were used to test the impact of the psychological contract on employees’ performance. The impact of the psychological contract on employees’ performance was moderated by generational affiliation.
Furthermore, results indicated that different aspects of psychological contract such as employer-employee mutual understanding, perspective relationship, level of interaction, and employees’ perception respond differently toward employees’ performance.
The study had presented evidence that different aspects of psychological contract impact on the employees’ performance. The result from this study suggests that there was a significant effect of employers to employee perspective relationship, level of interaction and employees’ perception toward employees’ performance. Results from this study suggest that relationship, communication, group cohesiveness, participation, and involvement improved employees’ performance. Employer-employees’ mutual understanding seem mostly unrelated to employees’ performance.

The impact of volatility crush can be devastating to an option buyer and results in a substantial capital loss, even with a directionally correct strategy. As a result, most volatility plays are for option sellers, but the profit they can achieve is limited and the sellers carry unlimited risk. This paper aims to demonstrate the dynamics of implied volatility (IV) as being influenced by effects of persistence, leverage, market sentiment and liquidity. From the exploratory factor analysis (EFA), they extract four constructs and the results from the confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) indicated a goodmodel fit for the constructs
Portfolio-Based Assessment
This book provides an overview of five categories of assessments namely peer and self-assessment, group-based assessment, performance-based assessment, portfolio and technology-based assessment. It also documents academic works, in the form of short case studies, in researching and practicing alternative assessments in their unique contexts to provide readers with ease of access and better understanding on application of alternative and innovative assessment. It is hoped that this book will spark interest and ideas that will inspire us to explore various innovative ways of assessing our students and will provide an excellent start to catalyse holistic assessment in our teaching and learning practices.
