This research is related to the effectiveness of social media (Twitter) as a means of political communication used by the public, especially in the election of the Mayor of Makassar and other elections in Indonesia. This paper, using two methods for social media analysis on political communication. Support
Vector Machine (SVM) to classify predictable words or
sentences, and the K-Means method is used to classify words or sentences related to political communication. The results of this study can be used by voters, candidates, political parties, and political institutions, as information and also as a measurement
aid in determining the choice of candidates
Relationship Between Creativity, Critical Thinking, Gender, Mathematical Ability and Pattern Recognition Among Private School Students in Singapore
In Singapore, students who wish to sit for the GCE ‘O’ level examinations would usually register themselves as school candidates and study in one of the Singapore
public or autonomous schools to prepare for the high-stakes examinations. However, there were some students who, due to various reasons, choose to enrol themselves in preparatory courses offer by private schools. Many of these private school students were academically weaker in their studies (as compared to their counterparts in public schools), and many lacked the ability to recognize prominent patterns, which was an important cognitive skill for academic successes. A starting point to solve the problem was to determine possible relationships of pattern recognition with other cognitive abilities. Reviews of literature found evidences that creativity and critical thinking were two cognitive skills connected to pattern recognition. Therefore, the main objective of this study was to investigate the relationships of creativity and critical thinking skills of private school students with pattern recognition. A correlation
research design was used to investigate the relationships between these cognitive skills, with mathematical ability as the mediating variable and gender as the moderating variable. The project involved the administration of survey questionnaires to the GCE ‘O’ level private school students. The instruments used for the study
include a creativity test (modified Creativity Selected Elements Questionnaire), a critical thinking test (modified Cornell Critical Thinking), a mathematical ability test and a pattern recognition test. The main bulk of quantitative analysis was done using
SMART-PLS Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) version 2. The results of the study showed that creativity was a weak predictor of pattern recognition ( = .074,
t(203) 1.96, f2= .278). It was also found that the mediating effect of mathematical ability and the moderating effect of gender were insignificant. This study contributed to the research in Singapore private education, particularly from the perspectives of the teachers and school administrators. It also provided the recommendation on how lessons should be conducted in order to incorporate elements of critical thinking and pattern recognition
The Influence of Entrepreneurship Education on Innovation Capability among Chinese Undergraduate Students in Covid-19 Pandemic Era: A Framework of Analysis
The recent global outbreak of COVID-19 epidemic crisis has posed a health and economic dual threat to countries
and societies around the world, and before COVID-19 global spread, economic growth in almost all countries had slowed in the context of a tense trade war between the United States and China. In this spreading global pandemic, unemployment and stagnation of international trade have caused great economic pressures to many countries, especially China as a big exporter. This paper aimed at finding out the influence of entrepreneurship education on innovation capability among Chinese undergraduate students, the empirical research method is utilized in this study, 400 senior undergraduates from 3 universities in China are surveyed by questionnaires, all data collected will be analyzed by SPSS 20 and Amos 21. Many schools and universities around the world have
adopted online education tools of the blended learning approach to mitigate this pandemic shock of the
education industry. Nowadays, the competition among the big countries in the world is mainly focused on the
technical barriers and innovation capability, according to the Triple Helix Model of Innovation that three main
stakeholders in entrepreneurship ecosystem: government, university and industry is very important to the
innovation. Finding indicated that the institutional environment and supporting infrastructure have a significant impact on student’s innovation capability in the three dimensions of entrepreneurship education. Therefore, the Chinese universities should combine the innovation-driven entrepreneurship education program, strengthen the supporting of institutional environment and infrastructure that enhance the student’s innovation practice ability with the human capital and social capital
Effect of Partial Powerpoint Handouts on Attention, Recall and Performance of First Year Undergraduates at A Malaysian Public University
This study was conducted in order to identify whether there is a significant effect of partial PowerPoint handouts on student attention, recall and performance. This study is important as PowerPoint is the most common method of instruction in all universities in Malaysia. Some of the problems of the traditional lecture method is the lack of student attention which then influences recall and performance. The quasi-experimental method succeeded in identifying the effectiveness of the partial handouts compared to the current practice of full handouts effect on students’ attention, recall and performance. The research was conducted based on the Solomon Four group design. A total of 301 participants were used in this study. The participants were mainly female undergraduates of a public institution of higher learning in Malaysia. The first group which is the experimental pre-test and post-test group consisted of 81 students. The second group which is the experimental post-test group consisted of 72 students. The third group which is the control pretest & post-test group consisted of 34 students and the fourth group which is the control post-test group consisted of 70 students. The results were analysed using MANOVA. The most significant effect of the experimental method was on the attention with significant effect in all four experimental and control groups. The effect on recall was mixed and the effect on Performance was minimally significant. This study has established the effectiveness of partial PowerPoint handouts on undergraduate students’ attention. Further studies can be done to investigate the effect of partial PowerPoint handouts on student recall and performance. As a conclusion, this study has fulfilled the intended objectives of identifying the effective use of PowerPoint handouts as a mode of instruction in higher education

through policy directives; and, developing appropriate curriculum to support the awareness and recognition that TVET learners that acquire entrepreneurship knowledge and skills are potential productive human resource for different industry sectors to drive sustainable economic development
Developing a Framework on Performance and Challenges of Strategic Management Information System: A Case study on Ministry of Interior, UAE
This paper focuses on understanding the concept of information system (IS), information technology (IT), Strategic management information system (SMIS), the need for SMIS, the challenges of SMIS in implementation and the relevant models. Thus, this study proposes an integrated framework for the Performance and Challenges of Strategic Management Information System in the Ministry of interior, UAE. Undoubtedly, organizations are largely depending on information system now a days due to the advancement of information technologies. Public organizations should adopt their strategies to achieve their missions, but in the long run they face a myriad of challenges that threaten the fulfilment of this mission or the implementation of successful strategies in accordance with this mission. UAE also moving forward towards vision 2021. Implementing information technology strategically is very crucial for achieving these goals. Based on the literature, having a strategic planning system in place is not a guarantee that an organization will achieve its strategic goals and objectives. It is important to evaluate the strategic planning process involved and how it is linked to other management processes in an organization. This paper uses secondary data sources to analyse the existing literature and for deep understanding of concepts, trends and models. Assessment of Readiness and Usability of Information System Use.
The assessment of the use of information systems has been carried out by many researchers. This research was
conducted in Private Universities in Indonesia, which currently involve many information systems in many ways, especially those related to the management of Higher Education, by measuring the readiness and usability of the use of information systems with models that I build from the integration of two models. The results of the measurement of this study were obtained from the distribution of questionnaires, there were 47% of respondents who filled 61-80% of the level of IS usage and 68% of respondents stated their readiness in the level of readiness to use IS. The stage consists of evaluating reflective measurement models and structural model assessments. Evaluating reflective measurement in evaluating internal consistency reliability using Composite Reliability, Reliability Indicator, Convergent Validity, and Discriminant Validity, finally concluded that the use of the Readiness and Usability integration model can be forwarded to a more complex research stage and can use the questionnaire
