The Design and Development of Phase-Based Properties of Quadrilaterals Module and its Effects on Form Two Students' Learning Outcomes in A private Secondary School in the Klang Valley, Malaysia
The purpose of this study was to design, develop and explored the feasibility and appropriateness of using the instructional materials which is based on theories of
van Hiele model, Attention, Relevance, Confidence and Satisfaction model (ARCS) and Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), and developed using Dick & Carey instructional design and development model with the aim of addressing the difficulty of learning Properties of Quadrilaterals among Form Two students. These difficulties seem to be prevalent in school students and this has directly or indirectly influence their motivation in learning geometry. In order to answer the four research questions
put forth in this study to develop and examine the effectiveness of the instructional materials on students’ learning outcomes, a case study has been employed through
one group pre-test and post-test of Form Two students (N=35) from a private secondary school in the state of Selangor. The results showed that there was an increase in students’ van Hiele geometric level, motivation and achievement in learning quadrilaterals. Multiple regression analysis results showed that motivation and van Hiele geometric level were the predictors for quadrilateral achievement. Students preferred the intervention which allowed for a student-centred and self-exploring learning environment. The findings in this study showed that it was feasible to integrate cognitive
and affective aspects via technology in designing and developing instruction to improve students’ performance in learning quadrilaterals, following the guidelines
provided in the Cognitive, Motivation and Technology Model (CMT). It is further affirmed the possibility to bridge the gap between theory and practice by applying a
systematic approach to design and develop instructions that could create efficient and interesting lessons in learning quadrilaterals

The outcome of the study suggested a very strong strategic role of formal and informal fi nancial institutions in economic growth of the province . In this study, users of formal system showed a signifi cant impact of perceived political stability, perceived cultural stability , perceived religious stability and perceived economic growth on the economic growth of the province. In informal fi nancial system users, perceived economic stability, perceived political stability and perceived economic growth has signifi cant impact on the economic growth, where perceived religious stability has insignifi cant impact on economic growth. Difference between Perceived economic stability, Perceived political factors, perceived religious factors, and perceived cultural factors also found insignifi cant across the users of formal and informal fi nancial systems. However, the combination of the results were also associated with present political, cultural, religious and economic factors and the assumed results were debated with more implications at KP provinc
The Innovation Development of Early Flash Flood Warning System Based on Digital Image Processing Through Android Smartphone.
Flooding is a phenomenon that almost always occurs every year in various regions throughout Indonesia with a variety of cycle variations. In the rainy season, high rainfall and narrowed watersheds and silting up are no longer able to accommodate the flow of water, causing
flash floods. Flood Warning Systems operate with traditional local wisdom that is highly dependent on the availability and responsiveness of the personnel assigned to oversee the river. Therefore, the development innovation of the existing system is expected to be able to provide information and data regularly and be an early warning to flash floods in order to minimize the
impact. This research was conducted to design, create and implement an image-based flash flood early warning system prototype based on an Android cellular phone so that the public is expected to be able to access information on possible flash floods through their respective cell phones. Image processing is the basis of this development innovation through the Background Substraction method which is carried out to automatically detect High Levels of Water (TMA) on the control board (Peil) via an IP Camera which is an input parameter for the system and is
processed into information for interested parties. The results of analysis of the detection of water level (TMA) on the peil board carried out on the server computer, become input parameters for determining the status of the dam water level. Flood early warning application that is installed on Android smartphone devices receives data from the server computer via the internet networ
A Technology-Supported Framework in Knowledge Sharing for Healthcare among Selected Cardiologists
Knowledge sharing in healthcare industry impacts peoples’ lives and wellbeing therefore it ought to happen efficiently and uninterruptedly. The studied literature indicated the lack of comprehensive studies on the categories, assessments and characteristics of knowledge in organizations. Healthcare organizations were selected for the study context due to the crucial role of relevant knowledge in the delivery of quality healthcare services. The study of three models in knowledge management in the healthcare alongside the comprehensive literature on organizational knowledge has aided in realizing six focal themes. These themes and the shortcomings of the gap analysis of previous models assisted in shaping the conceptual Healthcare Knowledge Management Framework. The qualitative approach of in-depth interviews encompassing set of semi-structured questions was followed in this study. Eight specialized physicians were interviewed and their replies were analyzed qualitatively. Subsequently, data analysis produced several descriptive themes and codes. The following phase was the validation of the research design and the validation of the developed framework. A technological platform known as Knowledge Flow Tracer and Growth Analyzer (KFTGA) was implemented based on the developed framework. This platform aims to facilitate the knowledge-sharing activities among the community of physicians. For the purpose of KFTGA implementation, four medical experts participated in utilizing the tools’ features. Afterwards, forms with written interview questions were passed to the medical experts to capture their experience on utilizing the tool. Based on the developed framework, the eight interviewed healthcare specialists indicated their inclination to use technology as the main source of their learning and knowledge sharing. Four of those specialists expressed the relevance of the KFTGA platform for their knowledge-sharing needs and to facilitate top management launch of learning initiatives. Research findings indicated the suitability of the developed framework for knowledge management in its intended environment of operation in healthcare organizations. Additionally, the implementation of the technological platform by healthcare specialists have showed how technology can enable the learning and knowledge-sharing among communities of healthcare workers. Conclusions and recommendations for future studies were indicated at the end of this documentation for researchers who are interested in the same or similar research areas
The Economic Development of Somalia Telecommunication Sector in the Absence of An Effective Regulatory Body: Evidences from Mogadishu - Somalia
The purpose of this research is to investigate the economic development of the Somalia private sector in the absence of an effective regulatory body or framework. Private sector firms in the telecommunication industry within Mogadishu City, Somalia, have been selected as the case for study. The study has been divided into four specific objectives. These objectives are: To examine the characteristics and conditions under
which the private telecommunication firms in Somali currently operate; To analyse the strengths and weaknesses of the private telecommunication firms in Somalia today; To explore the main challenges faced by the Somali private sector presently; and To
discuss the role the State can play to ensure a sustainable growth agenda of the private sector in Somalia now and in the future. In order to achieve the above-mentioned
objectives, the study was divided into five chapters, and each chapter was divided into a number of sections and sub-sections. As far as the research methodology is concerned, this study employed a mixed research design by using both descriptive and
case study research designs due to the nature of the data to be collected for analysis. The study also employed the use of probability and non-probability sampling
techniques, where stratified random sampling and purposive sampling procedures were used. Data was collected through primary sources using structured questionnaires, interview guides, and observations. The data to be collected during fieldwork was subjected to both quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques, where quantitative data was analysed using the SPSS tool, while qualitative data was analysed using thematic grouping and content analysis. The analysed data were
presented in the form of frequency tables, charts, and graphs. The study concludes that weaknesses and strengths had a significant effect on the economic development of the
telecommunication sector in Somalia; the telecom sector in Somalia lacks adequate qualified personnel and a shortage of sufficient economic development stimulators or
incubators. The telecom sector in Somalia suffers from increased competition in unregulated markets and the prevalent risk of balkanisation coupled with tribal breakup has negatively affected the development of the telecom sector. The study concludes that the telecom sector faces many challenges that limit this sector, including access to finance. The study concludes that the current regime has barely
done little to foster a conducive environment upon which a vibrant telecommunication industry can be built, the government of Somalia lacks adequate capability to collect domestic tax and pay external debts and the government had a role in facilitating and support the development of efficient and secure nationwide communications
infrastructure that provides affordable and pervasive broadband connectivity and accelerates socio-economic development in all parts of Somalia, this study recommends that the Somali government should limit the regulatory burden on the
private sector with ‘light touch’ customer-centric regulation to promote innovation and encourage the free flow of information while ensuring the necessary checks and
balances are in place that ensures the protection of the public, a level playing field and sustainability/reliability of services. The Somalian government should establish a
strong legal environment and facilitate and support the development of efficient and secure nationwide communications infrastructure that provides affordable and pervasive broadband connectivity and accelerates socio-economic development in all parts of Somalia, where necessary
Concepts of Strategic Management of Information Technology
Strategic management of information technology (SMIT) is closely related to many strategical activities involving IT utilization which are coordinated to achieve organizational goals within a competitive business environment. Along with the dynamics of research
development to disclose the strategic roles of IT, previous research proposed various models in relation to how IT contributes to organizational success involving different variables. The difference within models raised some eccentricities since they pointed the same endpoint,
organizational performance. This study presents a literature review exploring the general concept of SMIT by mapping each identified strategic factor, configuring the intersection, and discussing a collaborated SMIT models. We conclude three outer layers of SMIT concept, that are SMIT establishment or the environment, significant factors, and a combined model
Theorizing Servitisation for SME Performance
Introduction: Over the last three decades, servitisation has progressively become a key strategic choice for
manufacturing companies. Recognizing the increased emphasis on services with traditional product offerings, the term servitisation refers to the innovative increase in value a company can achieve by creating a viable amalgamation of products and services. Furthermore, their reasons to pursue servitisation could be similar to those of large firms. As such, understanding how servitisation works in SMEs is of tremendous economic importance.
Methodology: This paper is a qualitative in nature and aiming to understand the practice of integrating services into
products via added value and its importance to SMEs in Malaysia by theorizing the concept of servitisation for SME performance. The clear understanding of the concept could contribute to better development of SME sector in
Malaysia. Careful analyses of fifty articles with different themes on servitisation yields some insights on issues prevalent in the matter.
Results: Current servitisation research suggests that transitioning to a broader servitisation model for a firm that operates a traditional product model requires a significant amount of assets. However, many SMEs do not have an expendable amount of resources to refit their firms for a progressive servitisation model. Additional elements that act as barriers in SME servitising strategies involve overwhelming competition from wealthier and better-known organizations and an inherently diminished range of influence on the market.
Conclusion/- and Recommendations: Absence of servitisation research in SMEs establishes an important area for extended study as SMEs represent the largest margin of all firms. Additionally, SME organizations‟ servitisation efforts warrant examination because their access (or lack thereof) to important organizational resources manifest in manners distinct from large
