Factors Influencing the Profitability of Fully-Fledged Islamic Banks in Pakistan
Islamic banks are founded on principles that constitute the guidelines governing any Islamic economic or financial dealing. There has been tremendous growth in the Islamic banking sector especially in Islamic countries with regions like GCC countries and Malaysia leading the way. The situation in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan has been quite different where there has been a steady decline in the total
number of Islamic banks and their profits. It is important to identify the reason behind decline and failure of the Pakistani fully fledged Islamic banking sector. Therefore,
this study purpose is to highlights the main reasons for the decline of Islamic banking profitability in Pakistan. According to SBP, Islamic Bank Bulletin 2018, there are
currently four fully fledged Islamic banks operating with 14.4% market share of Pakistan's banking industry. This study encompass a period of twelve years (2007 to 2018) which shows a gradual decline in the total number of fully fledged Islamic banks in Pakistan and gradually in the reduction of their profits. This study contributes by analyzing both internal and external factors ((Back specific/Internal, Environmental/Macroeconomic and External Factors) which have led to the decline in the profitability of fully fledged Islamic banks. The study utilizes mixed method approach using the triangulation technique for the collection and analysis of data. Primary data was gathered from 203 senior Islamic banks managers and data was collected from ten major cities of Pakistan. Conclusively finding reveal that internal/bank specific, external factors have significant and positive impact on Islamic bank‘s profitability while Macroeconomic factors have limited contribution in Profitability generation. This is clearly evident from the empirical findings that if these factors are not addressed by the banks management and State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), in the near future there would be a further decline in the number of Islamic banks operating in Pakistan. Therefore, this study highlights and addresses the main causes for the decline of Pakistani Islamic banking sector. The study provides workable policy recommendations to be followed both by the senior banks management as well as the regulatory body (SBP). This study is important as it
clearly emphasizes the core weakness within the Islamic banking sector of Pakistan and provides practical recommendations and suggestions to save this declining sector

Qardhawi's opinion on the 2009 zakah disbursement model related to the empowerment of productive aṣnāf has encouraged the development of productive zakah in poverty alleviation. This study aims to examine the effect of intentions, opportunities, and resources on successful aṣnāf entrepreneurs. The method used is the mono method, namely quantitative research. Data was obtained through a survey using purposive sampling. Primary data were examined using the PLS-SEM method and the SmartPLS application. This study
found that the intention and opportunity factors had a positive and significant effect on the success of aṣnāf entrepreneurs. Meanwhile, resources have a negative impact on the success of aṣnāf entrepreneurs. Perceptions of Students Regarding Changes in LMS of AIOU, Islamabad, Pakistan
Information Technology (IT) has long been a part of daily life in educational institutions around the world,
including Pakistan. A learning management system (LMS) is designed to assist students by facilitating
learning and communication. In recent years, LMS has gained popularity among students as a method of
acquiring knowledge through electronic media. The use of computers and an understanding of information
technology are required for this. The current study sought to learn more about how students at AIOU
Islamabad, Pakistan, perceive the changes in learning management systems by distributing a questionnaire
consisting of a few questions related to LMS. Majority of the respondents involved in the study were
females (51.67%) while 48.32% were males. The respondents with Bachelor, Masters, MS/M.Phil, and
Ph.D. levels of degree were 31.62%, 30.07%, 27.20%, and 11.13%, respectively. It is concluded that the
majority of participants (male and female) had no internet facility which is a very important part of LMS.
Syllabus and course materials were the frequently used tools of LMS in the study area. LMS can be a highly
effective learning tool when they are designed to be scalable and able to adapt to the needs of the University.
According to research, electronic Moodle-based LMSs may be more effective than traditional face-to-face
teaching, resulting in learning outcomes that equal or exceed those of face-to-face teaching. Students face
difficulties using Microsoft teams because they are not well aware of its functionality. It was recommended
that proper training regarding the usage of the AIOU Aaghi LMS Portal should be provided for the provision
of efficient learning environment
The Social and Economic Impact of Dengue: A Case Study of the National Hospital Colombo, Sri Lanka
Dengue has become a significant public health problem in Sri Lanka. In the year 2017, a total of 186,101 cases of dengue have been reported around the country, and the most substantial proportion of 18.42% was reported from the Colombo district. The social and economic impact of dengue has been studied at a very low level so far. Therefore, this study was conducted to have an insight into the number of
resources used by the interventions related to dengue case management and the social factors, which influence the disease. Due to the difficulty in obtaining data from the
private sector, the scope of this study was limited to the government sector.
The research was conducted in two stages. It involved 200 inward dengue patients in analyzing the direct cost of the disease and conducting a community survey through family members of selected patients to analyze the social impact of
the disease. Related data items were gathered from the National Hospital that treated dengue inward patients in the Colombo district. The structured cost elements were
examined to identify the variable and fixed costs of each activity within each element and used a systematic sampling protocol to select 200 patients and their families. A
cross-sectional approach was used to assess the knowledge, attitudes, and behavioral patterns of family members towards dengue fever.
All data were analyzed by using MS Excel, SPSS 22 software package, and R software and used logistic regression model approach to realize the independent effect of each of these potential variables on the dependent variables (dengue prevention practices) of Knowledge, Attitudes and Practices (KAP) related to dengue prevention and apply quantile regression to analyze the economic impact of dengue. The average economic impact of dengue illness in Sri Lanka was LKR 37,988 in 2017 and knowledge, attitudes and behavioral factors have significant effects on health. This study recommends that the healthcare system in Sri Lanka needs to
develop mechanisms to promote preventive care, which is more cost-effective compared to curative care
Covid-19: Digital Barriers to Distance Learning
A confluence of unexpected circumstances has emerged in the relationship between teachers and distant learning regarding COVID-19, hinting at an invention of external trial and error that is happening within the common of school. The professional opinion of educators in terms of their gifts and protections closer to virtual advances are subject to the key advancements examined in this study. A survey on distance learning that was restricted to 160 educators and 363 students was conducted to investigate this issue. Problem and unshakable fine investigations, as well as connection and relapse tests, were carried out from a strategic standpoint. The analysis of the results revealed that the ballot prioritizes three major factors-two excellent and one negative that connect teachers' judgments to the protection from remote thinking. This indicates that the ballot values educators' competitiveness to separate learning to be alert. I give up; the topic of time acknowledgement in educational activity continues to be a general one of the ways for skilled perception and discernment. The second issue focuses on the link between computerized innovation and consumers, which should no longer only focus on the liaison with learners but also the perspectives of other preparatory entertainers, including teachers

Honesty-humility was also higher in female students.
