Pozadosłowne rozumienie emocji
The meaning of emotions and the meaning of words- emotions’ labels are described in studiem about emotions. Although there are some differences between these two domains, most studies about understanding emotions use lexical approach. On the other hand, the nonspecific limits inspired by language can be noticed in the area of changes in emotion meaning. Two studies were conducted and metaheuristic postulates were involved with the aim of breaking these limits. The denotation and emotional complexity were examined/analyzed in the first study. In the second study the atypical connotations taken from the psychology of creativity were used. The outcomes were discussed in relation to abstraction and metaphor as a result it is possible to go beyond literal understanding of emotions and express emotions verbally. The meaning of emotions and the meaning of words- emotions’ labels are described in studiem about emotions. Wykładniki emocji w blogach ojcowskich (przyczynek do lingwistyczno-kulturowych badań nad współczesnym obrazem mężczyzny)
The aim of the presented analysis is to show the exponents of excitement in the online genre – father’s blogs. Men’s parenting blogs reflect changes in the field of parenting, where father begins to appear – as an active and participating. This role goes beyond the stereotype of the male and the previous experience of fathers – both media and private. Therefore, the paternal narrative in blogs is for linguists valuable research material, that shows, among others, different aspects of male emotionality and ways to verbalize it. The emotional component of father`s image is created by means expressing feelings (not naming them), polyfunctional, used in unusual combinations and contexts. The aim of the presented analysis is to show the exponents of excitement in the online genre – father’s blogs. Usage of the word ‘contemporary’ in the title of this article persuades to think of issues which were undertaken by editors of this volume: is emotiveness belong only to texts published by contemporary media, or do we have to accept her limitation to media discourse, or would it be considered in wilder terms and draw attention to variety of ongoing discourses. From this point of view it undoubtedly attracts attention to religious language (characteristic for particular countries and contemporary used), which is still undefined and fragmentarily described. From this perspective author analyses the hagiography language which is included in the most recent edition of Bulgarian monastery on the Saint Athos Mount. The author wonders how influential the exigence of contemporary recipient can be or how the writing tradition. The Therapeutic Function of Metaphor: the Case of Emotions in the Croatian Public Discourse
In this paper we (re-)examine the role of deliberate metaphors in the public discourse. Based on an analysis of metaphorical comments to the articles reporting on a dispute between the Croatian Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, we argue that in addition to a number of established discursive functions, metaphor may perform a therapeutic function aiding commenters in working through their emotions. Our analyses of the course that comments take shows that they are not structured according to a usual turn-taking logic, but rather on the basis of the coherence of the emotions shared by the commenters. Moreover, the tripartite internal structure of the comments (identifying the critical event, running the blend, possibly offering a solution to the critical event) is aimed at symbolically delegitimizing politicians, putting the author in charge of the experience, thus enabling him/her to work through it. Theoretically, such a view suggests that on the discourse level it is not necessarily metaphor that is used as the structuring device, but that emotion can structure metaphor. In this paper we (re-)examine the role of deliberate metaphors in the public discourse. Љубов, сексуалност и казна во македонската традиционална култура
The love, sexuality and the punishment in the Macedonian traditional culture is considered on the basic of the ethnological-anthropological analyze. The analyze is based on the oral stories, ritual practices and oral poetry, which I take as means of communication. The love and the love emotions were in accordance with social and cultural criteria of the community in which occurred. This means that the love emotions, primarily the sexual emotions, had to be controlled, or to be shown as much as the traditional culture allowed. In general this was meant for the women and the maidens, „a woman’s chastity”, that implies the women’s purity and innocence. Otherwise the punishment commences. The betrayed young woman that has totally surrendered to the love emotions or the unjustly accused wife of infidelity is reaching towards the curse in order to satisfy the justice. The love, sexuality and the punishment in the Macedonian traditional culture is considered on the basic of the ethnological-anthropological analyze. Hrvatska kratka priča i Antun Gustav Matoš
Antun Gustav Matoš has affirmed the Croatian short story and that is why his short story collections have initiated a major „breakthrough” in terms of this genre’s reception. His narrative oeuvre includes the following collections: Iverje (Wood Shavings, 1899), Novo iverje (New Wood Shavings, 1900) and Umorne priče (Tired Tales, 1909). Depending on the type of motif, his short stories have been read as follows: 1. stories about local people and events; 2. humorous stories about people at home and abroad; 3. stories about unusual, unbelievable „unreal” events; 4. stories of enchanting and yearning love; 5. lyrical cadenzas. His symbolic-grotesque-fantastic story Moć savjesti (The Power of Conscience) marked his entry into the world of narrative literature. In this story, the binary relationship between the theme and the motif is recognised in the gap between the world of wakefulness and the world of dreams, reality and fantasy, what is real and what is unreal, the actual life and the ideal life, the object and the subject. At the same time, however, Matoš is trying to unite these opposites. In his other short stories, unusual plots become an expression of a deep ontological crisis which engulfed the European culture and art during modernism. The maxim of modern art at the turn of the century is „the world is a text”: art is a subjective reconstruction of the world and therefore plots, with all their logical cause and effect relationships, are no longer important since they cannot express other spheres of consciousness. In his short stories, the bizarre plots were used by Matoš to join two worlds, the world of outward reality and the world of imagination, the empirical and the fantastic, the possible and the impossible.Antun Gustav Matoš has affirmed the Croatian short story and that is why his short story collections have initiated a major „breakthrough” in terms of this genre’s reception. Antun Gustav Matoš’ autobiographische Märchen
The paper aims to show that in his prose oeuvre, Matoš appropriates the typical fairy tale elements, unifies different fairy tale traditions and adapts them pursuant to the symbolist poetics in order to create his own variation of a modernist literary fable (Kunstlermärchen). The paper aims to show that in his prose oeuvre, Matoš appropriates the typical fairy tale elements, unifies different fairy tale traditions and adapts them pursuant to the symbolist poetics in order to create his own variation of a modernist literary fable (Kunstlermärchen)
