No full textNational audienceThe lower Seine valley has been the stage of several experiments that associated an understanding of the rhythm of implantation of human occupations with the reconstruction of palaeo-environments. First restricted to specific one-off tasks, the scope of the research dynamics was broadened, and good use made of the investigative potential provided by preventive archaeology, in the framework of the 2001 law that allowed one to free oneself from “negotiated archaeology”. Sand and gravel quarries, corresponding to alluvial spaces and as the valley’s true sedimentary memory, very quickly became a most promising field of investigation, allowing archaeologists to broaden the notion of “heritage to be preserved by study” to geo-archaeology. It was thus possible to put forward a real description of the characteristics of ancient landscapes via multi-scalar observation in time and space of topographical, geological, plant, faunal, morphological and anthropic components of a given environment

Rejection by conservative religious traditions has led to a widespread activist disregard of religion or else the development of alternative forms of spiritual expression.Academic contributors (Sandeep Bakshi, Rémy Bethmont, Yannick Blec, Mark Chapman, Gregg Drinkwater, Arnika Fuhrmann, Jason Hartford, Savi Hensman, Dominic Janes, Amane Kasai, Guillaume Marche, Valérie Nicolet, Simon Olmetti, Miles Pattenden & Michael D. Barbezat, Frederick Roden, Bee Scherer, Bernard Schlager, Josselin Tricou, Adriaan Van Klinken, Heather R. HPA axis differential flatness and Liouvillian study for higher resiliency investigations
No full textInternational audienceAbstract In this paper, we study several existing quantitative models of the hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal (HPA) axis from a control systems theory viewpoint, that is, we suppose that we can act on the dynamics of the HPA axis throughout some parameters, which are the system inputs. In particular, we will focus on flatness and Liouvillian properties of the considered control systems of the HPA axis. We first study the minimal three-dimensional model of Bangsgaard and Ottesen (2017, Math. Biosci., 287:24–35) and the semi-mechanistic four-dimensional model of Gupta et al. (2007, Theor. Biol. Medical Model., 4(1):8) which are shown to be flat, and then, we consider the more involved and important model proposed in Rao & Androulakis (2019, Sci. Rep., 9(1):11212; 2020, IFAC-PapersOnLine, 53(2):15858–15863), with seven states, for which we prove that for the nominal values of the parameters involved in the model, flatness no longer holds. The more involved model satisfies however a similar but weaker property than flatness: it is a Liouvillian system
