    Get PDF
Using microwave oven nowadays has become necessary due to the need for speed in our daily activities. It is widely used in hating, thawing, and even cooking of food. It has been also used in sterilization and decontamination of food from microorganisms. This study aimed to evaluate thermal and non-thermal effect of a regular house holding microwave oven on Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. Bacterial suspension is exposed to microwave radiations in different strength and durations and compared to unexposed cultures. During microwave treatment, non-thermal effect is evaluated by putting the suspension crushed ice. The results indicate that the viability of both gram positive and negative was highly reduced with thermal effect of microwave radiations, leading to complete inactivation at three minutes. Non-thermal microwave radiations were also able to cause change in the microbial viability of both tested organisms on at least two-exposure occasion. The evaluation of antibiotic susceptibility before and after microwave radiations treatment indicate that antibiotic resistance was highly increased to tested antibiotics specially after three-minute exposure, except for Staphylococcus aureus to Amoxicillin, which became more sensitive. Microwave radiations reported to have a strong activity in eliminating the number of microbes but, it may have an important role in development of antibiotic resistance that should not be ignored

The research instrument was adapted from Gardner’s Attitude/Motivation Test Battery (AMTB). The questionnaire has 28 items 14 items from intrinsic motivation and 14 items from extrinsic motivation. Students from a Higher Education Institute, Shah Alam, Malaysia participated in answering the questionnaire. The findings reveal that, the participating students do have high level of intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation, but if to compare between these two types, intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, the Participating students’ intrinsic motivation are slightly higher than their level of extrinsic motivation. The researcher concludes that the participating students rely on intrinsic motivation rather than extrinsic motivation

A Look into Literature Courses in Pre-Service Teacher Training

    Get PDF
This paper explored the load of literature courses in the teacher-training program at the collegiate level in Yemen. It dwells on teacher candidates’ perceptions of the current status quo of literature teaching based on the learner-centered approach and humanistic curriculum. Data were elicited through an opinion poll from a sample of senior prospective teachers (n=112) who have undertaken courses in verse, fiction, and prose embedded in the program. Findings ensued from this analysis show that the participants had a wealth of difficulties that hamper achieving the objectives of embedding literature in the program, and most of such difficulties stem from teaching inadequacies in the given context. The study brings to the foreground some insightful ideas into curriculum reform. It generally informs the curriculum designers to readdress the existing program with an eye on the underestimated literature courses. It recommends that the overhaul of the existing syllabus should be fashioned to a new purpose, a new footing and a new perspective in line with the worldwide, extemporized changes in terms of curriculum development. A balanced approach to literature instruction to link the school curriculum with what is taught at the tertiary level would be a stepping-point to an improved literature teaching scenario

Doctor Recommendation Chatbot: A research study: Doctor Recommendation chatbot

    No full text
Healthcare is very important in our life. As the population increases, day by day the quality of communication between patients and doctors becomes less effective. So because of a load of patients in hospitals, the quality of treatment decreases day by day. So, there should be a system by which a  patient can easily communicate with a chatbot. Then the chatbot will examine the patient's problem and at last, the chatbot will recommend a specific doctor for a patient. With the help of artificial intelligence, the proposed system will be developed using natural language processing that means the chatbot first diagnoses the patient's problem then recommends a doctor for consultation. During the COVID pandemic, the trends of virtual assistance increased, and people are interacting with robots and virtual assistants. In many countries, there are robots in hospital receptionists to solve problems of people and work like humans. Chatbots make it easy to find a particular doctor by telling them problems. In this research study, there are different literature reviews included making a healthcare chatbot

Respiratory mechanics models in the frame of non-local fractional operators

    Get PDF
This study is intended to provide an exhaustive comparison of various non-local fractional operators when analyzing the mechanics of breathing performed by a ventilator. We present the solutions of the fractional respiratory mechanics model mainly for allowing the health care team to monitor patients' conditions in detail. The aim is to introduce the underlying model flexibly by making use of the advantages of the non-integer order operators with one, two, and three parameters. On the other hand, since we concern the usage of different types of fractional operators, most often having virtue in the application, it can be clearly observed the similarities and differences between these operators. Moreover, we observe the mobility of the solutions curves of the above-stated fractional model for different values of the parameters α\alpha, ρ\rho, and γ\gamma with the help of many graphs

Some weighted Simpson type inequalities for differentiable s–convex functions and their applications: Some weighted Simpson type inequalities

    No full text
In this study, by using a new identity we establish some new Simpson type inequalities for differentiables–convex functions in the second sense. Various special cases have been studied in details. Also, in order to illustrate the efficient of our main results, some applications to special means and weighted Simpson quadrature formula are given. The obtained results generalize and refine certain known results. At the end, a brief conclusion is given as well

Some Fundamental Results on Fuzzy Conformable Differential Calculus

    Get PDF
In this paper, we combine fuzzy calculus, and conformable calculus to introduce the fuzzy conformable calculus. We define the fuzzy conformable derivative of order 2Ψ2\Psi and generalize it to derivatives of order pΨp\Psi . Several properties on difference, product, sum, and addition of two fuzzy-valued functions are provided which are used in the solution of the fuzzy conformable differential equations. Also, examples in each case are given to illustrate the utility of our results

    Get PDF
The environment is suffering so much, and yet humanity is still adamant about saving it. This study determines the awareness of environmental consumption, waste recycling, and its relationship to the academic performance of selected college students during the pandemic period of COVID-19. Using a descriptive research design, the researcher used an online survey method to collect the data for the study. With the use of the convenience sampling technique, 192 college students from a local city college responded to the online survey. As for the instrument, the study adopted and modified an existing questionnaire and subjected it to reliability and validity tests, which yielded an acceptable result. Using SPSS 22, results show that college students “often” observe different environmental consumption and waste recycling schemes in school. Their academic performance also is "good" based on their grade point average from their previous semester. Also, the study showed a low positive relationship between environmental consumption, waste recycling, and academic performance. The study concluded that college students still practice appropriate environmental consumption and waste recycling, even during the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on the results, the researcher provided some implications for the learning system
