Globalization: its complexity and critique – on the need to direct the society towards knowledge
Contemporary discourse on the quality of a globalising world of multiple opportunities, the factors determining shifts in the social configuration and the condition of the human being seeking their place in a reality in constant changeis one of the most important orientations. The contemporary social configuration opens up a wide range ofpossibilities for individuals to construct their own biographies. Contemporary studies on the quality of the globalizing society necessitate considering the need to shape society based on knowledge and reflection on that knowledge, while also guarding the values upon which this knowledge depends. The immanent characteristic of the renewal of knowledge capital means continuous development. The variety, fragmentation, variability and complexity of the forms of organisation of social life in a globalising society determine changing perceptions of development and overcoming the tension between the experiences of the past and the possibilities of the future.Contemporary discourse on the quality of a globalising world of multiple opportunities, the factors determining shifts in the social configuration and the condition of the human being seeking their place in a reality in constant changeis one of the most important orientations. Zachowania autodestrukcyjne i suicydalne adolescentów jako odpowiedź na problemy egzystencjalne
The article deals with the issue of self-destructive and suicidal behaviors of adolescents as a response to their existencial problems. Behavior of this type among young people is a big problem for both the people they concern and the people who organize help for tchem. There are many stressors in adolescence. Their source may be relationships with a close person, experience of loss, experience of abuse or humiliation by a caregiver or partner difficulties in school, work, sports or other activities as well as direct or media contacts with people, most often peers, who also display self-destructive behaviors. The study uses the lecture method based on the literature on the subject. The analysis of sources and scientific studies shows that the problem of self-destructive and suicidal behaviours among adolescents increases as a result of unfavourable living conditions and the lack of access to appropriate medical care. The article deals with the issue of self-destructive and suicidal behaviors of adolescents as a response to their existencial problems. Idea inkluzji a paradygmat podmiotowości
The article addresses the issue of the need to link inclusion with the proper understanding of the subjectivity of a person. The author, analyzing the functioning of modern society, points out that it is experiencing multiple changes. They take place in an abrupt or evolutionary way and are conditioned by various factors. The inflammatory factors are either the need to react to the existing situation, or theoretical reflection on the idea or the way of functioning. At the same time, taking into account the historical factor,it can be said with a high degree of certainty that some proposals for changes, indicated as a kind of novelty in a given area of the functioning of society, in fact, in some variation, had already been revealed earlier. An example of particular interest to us is the phenomenon of inclusion postulated in the field of education. It seems that this right idea, without reference to the paradigm of personality, will be shallow only to ideological postulates, or to purely technical, organizational activity, or building new forms of social functioning. The article addresses the issue of the need to link inclusion with the proper understanding of the subjectivity of a person. Proces badawczy jako proces decyzyjny – rozważania w kontekście teorii decyzji
The research process is a component of many complex activities planned and then implemented by the researcher. At each of its stages, both in the conceptual phase and the implementation phase, the researcher identifies problem situations that require specific decisions to be made. Therefore, it is considered reasonable to analyze the research process in the light of the decision theory, which was done in this article. This theory provides a theoretical framework that allowed the research process to be identified as a multi-faceted decision-making process in which the researcher is the decision maker. Moreover, thanks to the decision theory, the conditions that accompany the research process, i.e. the conditions of uncertainty and risk, were described. Ways to minimize this risk are also presented. The article also focuses on research competences, thus assuming that they include competences related to effective decision-making. Therefore, the characteristics of an efficient researcher-decision maker were characterized. The considerations presented in this study may be the basis for making methodological criticism, as well as methodological reflection. Both criticism and methodological reflection can contribute to the development of research methodology, including the methodology of individual scientific disciplines. The research process is a component of many complex activities planned and then implemented by the researcher. The level of university student violence from the viewpoint of university students
This study aimed at revealing the level of university violence among university students and its relationship to the variables of gender and type of specialization. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, a measure of university violence was built, as the descriptive approach was used. The study sample consisted of 2000 undergraduate students, randomly selected. The results of the study showed that the level of university violence among students was low as a whole, and in all its fields. The results also showed that the study variables contributed to explaining university violence. This study aimed at revealing the level of university violence among university students and its relationship to the variables of gender and type of specialization. Świat jest w nas... Obrazy siebie i wewnętrznego świata w refleksjach początkujących nauczycielek
The inspiration to create this text, and previously to conduct research among novice teachers (students of preschool and early school pedagogy) about their self-image and personal, inner world, are the words of my supervisor and educator, Professor Stanisław Dylak. The professor began his lectures on pedeutology for pedagogy students with the statement: “The world is within us.” For many, these words became an impulse to reflect on themselves, and for those more committed, also to reflect on their own identity as a teacher. They became a pretext for conversations with oneself, an answer to the question Who am I? What am I like? What kind of teacher do I want to be? These questions become even more important when we realize, referring to our own biographical experiences, that “The Teacher comes close to eternity. He can never tell where his influence ends” (Henry Brooks Adams). This text is an attempt to get to know the inner world of female pedagogy students who are planning to start working as teachers in the coming months or have just started it. The author designed and conducted qualitative research on a group of 12 beginning teachers – students of preschool and early school pedagogy, and in the presented text she presented the images of themselves and “their” world outlined by them. An interpretive approach was used to analyze the obtained data, which allowed for the presentation of a collective picture of the internal world of teachers at the beginning. The inspiration to create this text, and previously to conduct research among novice teachers (students of preschool and early school pedagogy) about their self-image and personal, inner world, are the words of my supervisor and educator, Professor Stanisław Dylak. Rola trenera pracy w zakładzie aktywności zawodowej – propozycje działań w ramach prowadzonej rehabilitacji zawodowej osób z niepełnosprawnościami na podstawie modelu zatrudnienia wspomaganego
Because of labour market changes and the new forms of labour provisions required necessary adaptation, in the near future there might be a need of creating innovative and elastic forms of support for persons with disabilities from institutions that supporting this group. At the same time we could see the changes in perception of the laws of persons with disabilities for full participation in social or labour life defined according with The Convention On the Rights Of Persons With Disabilities. There are slow changes in the system of support persons with disabilities, also in the access to various forms of rehabilitations. Still, between institutions that support this group in Poland main role plays vocational activity facilities, one of their goal is to provide vocational and social rehabilitation. According with Strategia na rzecz Osób z Niepełnosprawnościami na lata 2021–2030, the share of supported employment should increase. Up to now this was realised as a third sector actions, but now it will be the action model implemented to the national system. The goal of this article is an elaborating of the propositions about an including the elements of supported employment into everyday work in vocational activity facilities. It could help to increase the effectiveness of rehabilitation provided in those facilities. This article has the research and practical character. Based on the mixed research: quantitative (questionnaire), qualitative (data analysis) and author experience presents an example of labour model in vocational activity facility with elements of supported employment. This model is only a theoretical construct that will be implemented and evaluated in next articles.Because of labour market changes and the new forms of labour provisions required necessary adaptation, in the near future there might be a need of creating innovative and elastic forms of support for persons with disabilities from institutions that supporting this group. Zastosowanie osiągnięć neuronauki w procesie wspomagania rehabilitacji osób z niepełnosprawnością – przykładowe badania
The article presents the issue of nervous systems and the neural correlate of information processing in the contextof the application of research results in this area in the process of supporting the rehabilitation of people with disabilities. The currently dynamically developing science of the borderland called “neuroscience” was presented, which is a great opportunity for special pedagogy to appear in its system, especially in the area of issues related to diagnosis and rehabilitation. The aim was to answer the question: What cognitive and research inspirations result from supporting the rehabilitation of people with disabilities with the achievements of neuroscience? The application of its achievements in the rehabilitation of people with disabilities has a complementary task, supporting an effective rehabilitation process in its practical dimension. The concept of a damaged brain of a disabled person was presented as a very general and imprecise one, resulting from diseases, injuries or developmental disorders, but which fundamentally affects the functioning of various areas of the brain, causing various symptoms and functional disorders. The essential and original part of the article is based on the latest literature on the subject, a review of the results of research on the brain work of people with various types of disabilities, made with the use of neuroimaging techniques. The concept of neuroplasticity was discussed in the context of obtaining an answer to the question: Can a damaged brain repair itself and how? By restoring, not bypassing, damaged or destroyed neural pathways. In conclusion, it was indicated that the intended effect of the discussed research is to create theoretical and empirical foundations for developing models of the functional architecture of the brain of a person with a specific type of disability, taking into account their individual capabilities, needs and even interests. The article presents the issue of nervous systems and the neural correlate of information processing in the contextof the application of research results in this area in the process of supporting the rehabilitation of people with disabilities. Edukacja – o dwóch metaforach i jednej alegorii słów kilka
The essence of education is approached in a number of ways. One of them is the “symbolic approach”. Within that, the said “essence” is depicted using a number of approximations, including: “functional” terms (in which “someone is doing something” or “something is being done to someone”). The subject of reflection in this article are two – seemingly fundamental – educational metaphors, and namely “progress” and “development”, and, additionally, one comprehensive allegory – “education as a ship” after Horace’s Ode 1,14). The aim of the article is to critically analyze the mentioned symbolic expressions using etymology, and so the method of conducting this research is the method of etymological explications. The main conclusion of the article is a warning against thoughtless use of metaphors in the language of educational sciences. The essence of education is approached in a number of ways.
