European Union values in documents of youth organizations operating in Poland

    No full text
The article aims to present the research results concerning European Union values in the documents of youth organisations operating in Poland, namely: AIESEC Poland, ATD Fourth World, Youth Initiatives Center Horizons, UNESCO Initiatives Centre, All-Polish Youth, and the National Radical Camp. A qualitative strategy, the secondary source search method, was applied. Atlas.Ti software was used for coding. All the available documents posted on the websites of the investigated organisations, including their statutes, rules and regulations, and reports and accounts covering activities and operations, as well as Facebook posts, were analysed. An analysis of the content of these documents was carried out within the “values/ideas” category and the subcategories: standards, problematisation, and aims of activities. Within the analysis, the values present in the documents were compared with those enshrined in Article 2 of the Treaty on European Union, which also mentions pluralism, tolerance, justice, solidarity, non-discrimination, and equality. The carried-out analysis reveals whether the values guaranteed by all the member states of the European Union also underpin the mainstay of the activities of the youth organisations operating in Poland. Author’s correction: On January 12, 2026, in a sentence on page 75: "The study results presented hereunder are part of broader research carried out with-in the “anonymise” project" a change was made to remove the word "anonymise" and insert the full name and project number after the word "project": Heterotopias of Citizenship Educational Discourse and Pedagogies of Militarization in the Spaces of Youth Organizations. A Critical-Analytical and Comparative Approach, grant OPUS 18, no. 2019/35/B/HS6/01365, financed by Polish National Science Center. The purpose of this article is to present the concept of family resilience .The present study aims to shed light on the subject’s comprehension of the systemic paradigm, while concomitantly underscoring the pivotal role that the family environment and its concomitant processes play in its establishment. A multi-tude of factors, including losses, traumatic events, highly stressful living conditions, and rapid changes in civilization, have been demonstrated to exert a detrimental effect on the entire network of family relation-ships. These phenomena are posited to challenge the conventional notion of the family as a functional system. The selection of coping strategies and the subsequent adaptation and adjustment of all family members in a crisis situation are primarily influenced by the fundamental processes within the family unit. The fundamental question that researchers in this field seek to address is as follows: What factors enable certain families to overcome adversity, thereby enhancing their functionality and resilience, while others succumb to dissolution or deterioration? The purpose of this article is to present the concept of family resilience .The present study aims to shed light on the subject’s comprehension of the systemic paradigm, while concomitantly underscoring the pivotal role that the family environment and its concomitant processes play in its establishment. The aim of this article is to analyze the social conditions that shape women’s experiences of endometriosis, with particular emphasis on the social perception of pain and societal responses to the disease. The article introduces the concept of “invisible” pain to describe the experiences of women who feel misunderstood, unaccepted, or even socially excluded due to their symptoms. It also presents strategies for coping with the illness, as well as the consequences of a lack of understanding from others – especially close relatives and medical professionals – on the well-being of those affected. The netnographic research involved women participating in Facebook-based online communities focused on endometriosis and other gynecological conditions. The collected data was analyzed using interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA), which enabled a deeper understanding of the lived experiences of women with endometriosis. The findings aim to illustrate how women navigate the partial understanding of their illness, how they construct their illness narratives, and the role that online support groups play in this process. This research may serve as a starting point for further exploration of the relationship between people living with chronic illness and the society around them. The aim of this article is to analyze the social conditions that shape women’s experiences of endometriosis, with particular emphasis on the social perception of pain and societal responses to the disease. Purpose of the study: The study aims to synthetical present the most important stage productions of the Poznań, “Łejery” community on the threshold of the 50th anniversary of its existence. Research methods and research status: The study uses the method of analysing existing and evoked sources, which include: press materials, information obtained by the author during conversations conducted at Primary School No. 83 in Poznań with Jerzy Hamerski and Elżbieta Drygas, electronic sources related to the facility, studies and articles from serial publications and phonographic sources as well as prints obtained from Jerzy Hamerski’s collection. The current state of research on “Łejery” pedagogy is insufficient, because “Łejery” pedagogy, the main pillar of which is education through art, has existed for almost 50 years and is a unique phenomenon in Poland. This phenomenon, thanks to the determination of Jerzy Hamerski and Elżbieta Drygas, resulted in the establishment of Primary School No. 83 in 1990. Emilia Waśniowska in Poznań (although “Łejery” was established as a children’s community theatre in 1975). So far, you can read about the Poznań theater school only in the magazine Kultura i Edukacja from 2024. Conclusions: No random performances or songs are in the “Łejery” repertoire. They refer to current social and educational problems, phenomena worth explaining to children, and, above all, to children’s everyday problems. Many of the stage productions are addressed primarily to adult audiences to draw their attention to a child’s perception of the world.Purpose of the study: The study aims to synthetical present the most important stage productions of the Poznań, “Łejery” community on the threshold of the 50th anniversary of its existence. In the modern world, it is difficult to imagine life without the Internet and even without an account on a chosen social networking site. Observing various types of activities on the Internet and the rapid pace of changes occurring there, the need for conducting a research was noticed, in which the key question was formulated: is it possible to build lasting relationships in a virtual community? The research was conducted among students of various fields of study in a group of 236 people. A diagnostic survey method and an author’s survey questionnaire were used, due to the fact that no standardized measurement tools have been found for the stated research problem to date. The research was conducted online, which made it easier to reach respondents from different regions of Poland. According to the surveyed students, it is possible to build relationships in the virtual world but they are less lasting than those established in the real world. However, it is difficult to determine whether virtual relationships can develop into friendships. Students are aware of what can destroy interpersonal relationships. In the modern world, it is difficult to imagine life without the Internet and even without an account on a chosen social networking site. Narrative plays a key role in understanding and communicating individual experiences, as well as in the process of identity formation. The transition to motherhood is often seen as a crisis that requires the creation of a new identity. The traditional Catholic narrative, together with the enduring matka Polka (Polish mother) myth in the Polish socio-cultural context, promotes an image of motherhood as a woman’s “vocation” and as a role defined by self-sacrifice and complete devotion to the child. Alongside these historically and culturally rooted models, alternative models have also emerged. Faced with this multiplicity of social constructions and the erosion of the unequivocally positive image of motherhood, women reflexively engage with the traditional-religious model of mothering. The research presented in this paper, based on interviews with young women who identify as devout Catholics, demonstrates that three key concepts in the religious narrative – sacrifice, vocation, and miracle – remain significant for mothers as they seek to make sense of their experiences and construct their identities as women and mothers. However, the meanings of these concepts are being renegotiated. Young Catholic women neither wholly reject nor uncritically reproduce religious idioms. Instead of passively replicating models that conflict with contemporary culture’s emphasis on individuality and freedom, they actively transform religious ideas, confronting them with their everyday lives. Through this process, they create narratives in which motherhood becomes a self-project grounded in individual choice while also remaining a religiously sanctioned aspect of their identity as women.Narrative plays a key role in understanding and communicating individual experiences, as well as in the process of identity formation.
