Disability Studies wobec natury postaw dyskryminujących
Get PDFAlongside the development of disability studies (interdisciplinary and critical studies on disability), the awareness of “false universalization of disability” increased. It was realized that both theoretical and practical abuse is to treat disability as the main and even the only factor that binds the environment of people with disabilities. The configurations of the aspects of oppression and discriminatory attitudes have been in fact much more complex and elaborate than it was originally thought according to the promotion of the social model of disability. This article addresses the problem of multiple and simultaneous oppression, in which disability co-exists among other factors, e.g. gender, race or age as equally important with respect to marginalization, violation of rights and social exclusion.With the development of disability studies the awareness of “false universalization of disability” increased. Get PDFA certain percentage of disabled children are not raised in their biological families. It happens more and more often that the place of residence of such a child is not an institution but the adoptive or foster family. Increased prevalence of this type of families makes the study of this area of functioning of children with disabilities more and more important. The paper covers the issue of dealing with a child’s difference by their adoptive/foster parents. The difference has its source e. g. in a disability. The empirical part of the article is the result of qualitative research conducted with parents from 20 adoptive/foster families that raise a child with a disability (this is a part of a broader research project conducted by the authors with these families). The analysis of the interviews shows the ways to discover the otherness, the difference of the child, the ways to accept this otherness, and the importance they ascribe to the otherness of the child.A certain percentage of disabled children are not raised in their biological families. Get PDFStriving for a success in parallel to the simultaneous attainment of high level of well-being is these days a common phenomenon. For quite a long time it has been also in the focus of the scientific debates and papers also dealing with education. This paper presents the findings of the study on the teachers’ perception of the student success in the context of assessment of selected success determinants and/or indicators. While analysing the theoretical relationship between student\u27s well-being and educational success, 4 selected factors taken from the Buchner (2004) study were considered key to the undertaken research. The results showed that teachers tend to recognize factors related to the student\u27s well-being as indicators of success, which means they perceive it as a result of achievement. Meanwhile the care for the student’s well-being before undertaking an educational task as a success determinant-related situation seems to be less visible

Currently, recognition of the right of all people to education is considered completely natural. Since the mid-1990s, in the Czech Republic, the issue of educating people with multiple disabilities has been increasingly addressed. The main purpose of this study is to characterise the approach to education of persons with multiple disabilities in the Czech Republic. The law in the situation of a child with disability acquires particular importance, especially in the matter of choosing the form of its education. Whether they will choose a special school or an integration class for their child, or maybe they will think about inclusive education – it is conditioned by many factors, and each of them can be the most important for a particular parent. The subject of the presented research message was made the opinions and experiences of parents in the area of choosing form of education for a child with disability. The literature review focuses on the importance of stress in parents of a child with autism spectrum disorders, which significantly affects family life. The main cause of the burden are accompanying difficulties that are the part of disorder. This applies to specific reactions such as fits of anger, self-harm, psychomotor agitation, eating disorders, sleep disorders and other troubles which require almost 24-hour care.
