Stres rodzicielski matek dzieci z autyzmem
Get PDFThe aim of the research presented in this article was to determine the level of parental stress among mothers of autistic children. Thirty-nine mothers of autistic children, forty mothers of children with Down syndrome as well as forty mothers of children with developing normally took part in the study. We used the Questionnaire on Resources and Stress (QRS, designed by J. Holroyd) to assess the parental stress among families of developmentally delayed children or children with intellectual disabilities. The results of the study indicate that, comparing to mothers of children with Down syndrome and mothers of children developing well, mothers of autistic children are the ones who experience the highest level of parental stress. Potential sources of coping strategies among mothers of children that suffer from autism are associated with relatively low stress levels as a result of disharmony within the family, personal issues, the child’s health situation and financial problems
From communication to humanization of disabled person
Get PDFThe ongoing systemic transformations have intensified the need to update the reflection on (disabled) people, their abilities or even their destiny. The political transformation that took place in our country chanced the scope and forms of social life. Economic and socio-cultural changes led to the disappearance of disabled people. As a result, it is necessary to rebuild a humanistic programme based on embracing the human being, their abilities and capabilities. Od nastoletniego macierzyństwa do życia w dorosłości w wypowiedziach kobiety z niepełnosprawnością intelektualną
Get PDFMaternity in the case of women with intellectual disabilities is exposed to many factors hindering its implementation. Research on this occurrence shows that one of the main reasons for that is insufficient or inept support for this group of women in different areas, such as educational, financial, informative, emotional. Teenage mothers with disabilities are in a particularly difficult situation. The article presents the analysis of statements of an adult woman with mild intellectual disability on her experience of teenage pregnancy as well as maternity as an adult woman. The humanistic attitude of giving the floor to the respondent allowed to determine other meaningful matters in the woman’s life (among others: relationships with life partners, relationship with the mother, vision of the future, financial situation) The methodology of research used was qualitative research. Two open interviews took place 8 months apart. The interviews were recorded to an electronic device. The material obtained was later transcribed. Twórczość artystyczna jako sposób urzeczywistniania paradygmatu emancypacyjnego
Get PDFThe article relates to artistic creation of intellectually disabled people as an example of possible ways for them to reach emancipation. In this paper, I claim that artistic creation of intellectually disabled people may constitute a tool of self-expression, and as a result be a way to realize the emancipatory paradigm in special education. I have illustrated my hypothesis with some poetry written by two women affected by Down syndrome whose creation is a conscious act of formulating an autonomous artistic message.The article relates to artistic creation of intellectually disabled people as an example of possible means of their emancipation. Get PDFThe proposed text is an illustration of research conducted in the first half of 2016 years of empirical verification planning future educational and vocational secondary school and upper secondary youth in Gniezno. When analyzing the situation of the local labor market and its prospects for the group of respondents was done between other high school students, because they are in a few years will include the labor market and indirectly (now) affect its shape. The awareness of their plans but allows us to predict, and thus the possibility of remedying causing difficulties in the labor market. In proposed project groups of respondents they were done as teenagers of secondary schools, directors of secondary schools and the largest local employers. Get PDFThis article provides an overview of two approaches to peer-mediated intervention that have been effective in improving the social and communicative interactions among preschool children with developmental disabilities and their classmates without disabilities. These peer-mediated interventions involve teaching facilitative initiation and responsive interaction strategies to peers and teaching sociodramatic scripts. The studies presented in this paper prove that thanks to relationships with properly trained peers disabled children more often get involved in team games, more often establish interactions with their peers, are more eager to talk to them and less often exhibit socially unacceptable behaviors

The subject of the article is the creative activity of fan communities (fandom), with particular emphasis on the transmedia storytelling, i.e. the story told simultaneously within various media. The development of the Internet in the Web 2.0 formula has opened a number of possibilities for the creation of fandoms centered around a particular series, movies, books or games.
