Life is of great value to any human being and can be considered to be a fundamental concept. It has a determined temporal dimension, although it remains unknown to a given individual. An overview of relevant literature demonstrates that much has been written on the subject of health and ability and it has been quite extensively discussed. Yet this concept remains valid because its meaning is constantly changing. People are not able to completely free themselves from diseases/disabilities. During one’s lifetime one is exposed to periodic or permanent difficulties or limitations. Human life involves functioning on the border of health and disease, full ability and disability. It is important, however, how one deals with difficulties that one must face, who one will meet on one’s way and what kind of help will be offered. This paper aims to present a theoretical framework of health and disease, including chronic disease and disability.Life is of great value to any human being and can be considered to be a fundamental concept. The aim of the study was to determine whether the age of the audience of the exhibition influences the assessment of aesthetic preferences of artistic products made up by people with visual impairment. The research was conducted to give an answer if there are differences in the preferences of different categories of artworks created by artists who are blind or low vision. The research consisted in the evaluation of raised-line drawings, photographs, sculptures and the tactile picturebook. These artistic products were presented in the art gallery. The assessments were made on a 5-point scale, where the respondents indicated how much they liked the artworks they were watching. In the study participated 118 people, including 80 children and 38 adults. It turned out that age and type of art had an interactive impact on the aesthetic assessment. Age differences in aesthetic preference werefound in reference to drawings and picture books. The visual art created by people with sight impairment was evaluated very positively.Magdalena Szubielska, Katarzyna Pasternak, Marzena Wójtowicz, Anna Szymańska, Ocena sztuki osób z niepełnosprawnością wzroku przez dzieci i dorosłych [Evaluation of art of people with visual impairment by children and adults]. Od biernego odbiorcy do aktywnego mediakreatora – małe dzieci i TIK w świetle badań własnych
Agnieszka Iwanicka, Od biernego odbiorcy do aktywnego mediakreatora – małe dzieci i TIK w świetle badań własnych [From passive recipients to active mediacreators: small children and ICT in the light of own studies]. Interdyscyplinarne Konteksty Pedagogiki Specjalnej, nr 23, Poznań 2018. Pp. 143-160. Adam Mickiewicz University Press. ISSN 2300-391X. DOI: https://doi.org/10.14746/ikps.2018.23.08
Small children show a lot of media activity: they are perfectly capable of handling new technologies, they have been using them since the first years of their life. What activities they show depends on the family home and the behaviors they observe with their parents. With their support and providing positive patterns, the child can become not only a passive media user, but also an active media content creator, a kind of mediacreator, which over time will have a real impact on the reality in which he grows up. In the article, I present some of the results of the my research, in which I checked what role the media plays in the life of a child in an early school age. I try to answer the question, what media activities are displayed by children – whether it is only passive and imitative, or maybe they are actively creating media content.Agnieszka Iwanicka, Od biernego odbiorcy do aktywnego mediakreatora – małe dzieci i TIK w świetle badań własnych [From passive recipients to active mediacreators: small children and ICT in the light of own studies]. Internetowe wsparcie społeczne
Natalia Walter, Internetowe wsparcie społeczne [Online social support]. Interdyscyplinarne Konteksty Pedagogiki Specjalnej, nr 23, Poznań 2018. Pp. 29-58. Adam Mickiewicz University Press. ISSN 2300-391X. DOI: https://doi.org/10.14746/ikps.2018.23.02
New media are the tools that support human’s intellectual functioning. For many people with disabilities they may become the sole opportunity for accessing information, communicating, learning or working. On the other hand, new media also provide a space for social interactions that could affect the process of coping with critical events, both ordinary and traumatic ones. The key concept for the discussion is internet-based social support, defined as support available online to a person dealing with a critical event which needs to be overcome with external resources coming from virtual groups comprising people experiencing difficulties of a similar nature, in the past or currently. The author posed the question whether internet social support is ubiquitous, and what it manifests itself. To answer this, she conducted quantitative and qualitative research. The data collected then became thebasis for analysis and theoretical considerations.Natalia Walter, Internetowe wsparcie społeczne [Online social support]. Wsparcie społeczne dla osób z niepełnosprawnością a refleksja nad „dobrą” i „złą” charytatywnością
Difference / disability is associated with limitations in social contacts and the risk of social exclusion. Charity and philanthropy not only are an opportunity for people with disabilities but they also pose a threat. The article deals with ‘positive’ and ‘negative’ charities, as well as ethical guidance to these activities. The text asks about the 21st century model of NGOs’ support for people at risk of social exclusion.Difference/disability is associated with limitations in social contacts and the risk of social exclusion. Od wczesnych zwiastunów autyzmu po przywiązanie – rozwój relacji społecznych dzieci ze spektrum autyzmu w kontaktach z bliskimi
Autism is a vast developmental disorder with significant delays and problems in participation in alternate social interactions. Studies show that nearly half of the population with various forms of autism participates in social life, although their profile of emotional and social deficits remains highly diversified. Impairment within a social sphere includes a limited disposition and ability to recognize, to understand and to engage in human contact and interpersonal communication. Parents /guardians are the first observers of disturbing behaviors of a child and the first initiators of building a close relationship with their offspring. Their observations are the determinants of the criteria of early detection of autism spectrum disorders. The biggest problem for parents is the inability of their children with autism to show affection. The goal of this article is to show the development profile of social relationships of young children with autism in contacts with their relatives and the analysis of conditions in the child – parent attachment relationship in this group of disorders
Samoocena młodzieży z niepełnosprawnością wzroku w zakresie „ja perspektywicznego”
A young person\u27s perception of his past, present, and future life is shaped during his adolescence. The potential/prospective self of an adolescent includes his ideas and plans concerning his future life and, therefore, constitutes an important source of his motives for activity and development. This paper presents results of its author\u27s own research on the ways in which adolescents with visual disability receiving special education in the Silesian Voivodship perceive their own future lives. The theoretical part of the paper contains an analysis of the concept of self-perception and related concepts. Special attention is paid to defining different kinds of self-perception, analyzing their functions, and indicating factors that determine their development during adolescence. An overview of selected pieces of research on the self-image of the blind and visually impaired people allowed a description of the influence of self-perception on social and personal functioning of adolescents with visual disability
Interpretowanie i konstruowanie swojej dorosłości z perspektywy osób niepełnosprawnych
Research on the adulthood of people with disabilities is still scarce. In the article the results of a qualitative research project involving the use of three individual, indepth semistructured interviews and a narrative analysis approach are presented. The authors show the everyday life of adults with disabilities, which is not thrown into the scheme, because it distances itself from stereotypes. Positive self-perception of these people – depicted in narratives – is visible in their perception of adulthood, which is implemented in the same way as in the case of the able-bodied, so that’s the adulthood with prospects of self-realization. Difficulties implied by disability become insignificant.Research on the adulthood of people with disabilities is still scarce.
