Testing on the structure factor of the Indonesian version of Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS)-21 has been carried out using confirmatory factor analysis. To prove the quality of the psychometric properties of DASS-21 in more detail, this study aims to evaluate the internal validity and reliability of the Indonesian version of DASS-21 using the Rasch rating scale model. This research approach uses a cross-sectional design, and to get as many as 424 undergraduate students age ranged from 17 to 26 years old (Mage = 20.49 and SD = 1.79) in various regions in Indonesia, the researcher uses convenience sampling. The results show that the Indonesian version of DASS-21 is unidimensional even though it is tested on each subscale or as a whole. It has an excellent reliability index, all items used are fit, and the use of four answer choices is appropriate, but identified as many as 6 of the 21 items detected experiencing a differential item functioning that shows the weaknesses of the Indonesian version of DASS-21. Psychometrically, only 15 of the 21 items from the Indonesian version of DASS-21 are recommended for measuring psychological distress in Indonesia

Adolescence is a developmental stage vulnerable to psychological trauma, particularly in boarding school environments characterized byacademic pressure, strict discipline, and separation from family. This study aims to identify indications of psychotrauma symptoms amongfemale adolescents in a boarding school setting and analyze differences based on educational level. This descriptive quantitative studyinvolved 657 female students (aged 11–19) Junior and Senior High School, selected via convenience sampling. Psychotrauma symptomswere measured using the Indonesian version of the Global Psychotrauma Screen for Teens (GPS-T) and analyzed using JASP 0.95.4software. The results showed that the highest prevalence of symptomatic indications was anxiety (73.8%), followed by DSO (60.3%) & CPTSD (67.3%), while the lowest was substance abuse (6.7%). Significant differences were found based on educational level across most psychotrauma aspects (p < .001), except for self-harm and substance abuse. This study emphasizes the urgency of preventive interventions based on emotion regulation and stress management in schools. School management is advised to implement trauma-informed care and developmental-sensitive counseling services to optimize student’s self-concept and interpersonal relationships, particularly at the early educational level

Gamification-based multimedia as a catalyst for character building in elementary school students

The phenomenon of declining responsibility among primary school students is a serious challenge, with conventional teaching methods deemed ineffective in fostering discipline and internal motivation in students on a sustainable basis. This situation creates an urgent need for pedagogical innovation that can bridge the gap between values education and the characteristics of the digital generation, making the integration of technology in learning an absolute necessity for optimising character internalisation. This study aims to develop a sense of responsibility in primary school students through a gamification-based multimedia approach in learning about ethnic diversity in East Java. A quantitative approach with a one-group pre-test post-test design was applied to 20 fourth-grade students at SDN Dadaprejo 02 Kota Batu, using a questionnaire as a data collection instrument with indicators of consistency, self-motivation, and discipline. Data analysis using a paired sample t-test and effect size calculation (Cohen\u27s d) showed an increase in the average student responsibility score from 17.95 to 38.05, with a significance value of <0.001 and a Cohen\u27s d value of 5.96, indicating the effectiveness of the treatment with a very strong category. The results of the discussion show that the multimedia gamification activity design succeeded in significantly improving the three indicators, as reflected in the increase in the total score from 359 to 761. This approach is effective in building students\u27 responsibility character, as evidenced by the comprehensive and meaningful improvement in consistency, self-motivation, and discipline in learning

Comparison of deep learning in elementary schools across different countries: a literature review

    No full text
The growing demand for 21st-century competencies has driven major transformations in basic education; however, a clear research gap persists regarding the conceptual ambiguity between deep learning as a pedagogical approach and deep learning as artificial intelligence (AI) technology, as well as the unequal implementation of both across educational contexts. This study aims to systematically analyze and compare how deep learning is conceptualized and applied in basic education globally through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) guided by the PRISMA protocol. From 50 peer-reviewed articles published between 2020 and 2025, 13 high-quality studies were selected based on relevance, methodological rigor, and contextual focus. The findings reveal a distinct contextual divergence. In Indonesia, deep learning is predominantly implemented as a pedagogical strategy emphasizing mindful, meaningful, and joyful learning to support character development within the Merdeka Curriculum. In contrast, studies from developed countries primarily frame deep learning as an AI-based technological application, particularly for learning performance prediction and inclusive education support using neural network models such as Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) and Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (BiLSTM). While both approaches demonstrate effectiveness in fostering higher-order thinking skills (HOTS), their successful implementation in developing countries is strongly constrained by disparities in digital infrastructure and teacher competency readiness. This study contributes by clarifying the dual interpretation of deep learning in basic education and highlighting the contextual factors shaping its implementation. Accordingly, it recommends the development of adaptive teacher training models and more equitable technology integration policies to bridge global disparities in educational quality

The Influence of Inequality, Labor, Poverty, and HDI on Economic Growth in East Nusa Tenggara

This study investigates how income inequality (measured by the Gini coefficient), labor force participation, poverty levels, and human capital quality (represented by the Human Development Index) affect economic growth in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province. Using time-series data from 2010 to 2024 sourced from official statistics, the study employs a multiple linear regression model that meets all classical assumptions such as normality, absence of multicollinearity, no heteroscedasticity, and no autocorrelation. The results indicate that all four factors positively and significantly contribute to economic growth, with the HDI standing out as the most influential variable, highlighting the vital importance of human capital development. Despite observed economic growth, the region faces a paradox where inequality and poverty remain widespread, signifying that growth in NTT is not inclusive and largely driven by low-productivity, informal sectors. The study calls for urgent policy interventions aimed at strengthening human capital through better education and healthcare, alongside transforming the labor market by shifting employment towards the formal sector. Examining these variables together within NTT’s socio-economic framework, this research offers crucial insights for promoting sustainable and inclusive growth in developing regions
