Information Management and Critical Thinking–Strategic Decision-Making Competencies of First-Line Nurse Managers and the Achievement of Minimum Service Standards for Older Adults: The Mediating Role of Job Satisfaction: Job Satisfaction
Introduction: The increasing number of older adults poses growing challenges for primary healthcare services, particularly in achieving the Minimum Service Standards (MSS) for elderly health. In community health centers (Puskesmas), first-line nurse managers play a strategic role in planning, implementing, and monitoring health programs for the elderly. However, achievement of MSS varies across facilities, suggesting that managerial competencies and work-related factors may influence service outcomes. Objective: This study aimed to examine the direct and indirect relationships between first-line nurse managers’ managerial competencies—specifically information management, critical thinking, strategic decision-making, and the achievement of Minimum Service Standards for elderly health, with job satisfaction as a mediating variable. Methods: An analytical quantitative cross-sectional study was conducted among 126 first-line nurse managers from 17 community health centers in Malang City and Malang Regency, Indonesia. Data were collected using the Primary Care Manager’s Managerial Competence Scale (15 items) and the short version of the Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire (16 items). Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM).Results: Critical thinking–strategic decision-making competence showed no significant direct association with MSS achievement (β = −0.012; T = 0.740; p = 0.460), nor did information management competence (β = −0.016; T = 0.734; p = 0.463). However, mediation analysis revealed significant indirect associations through job satisfaction. Critical thinking–strategic decision-making competence demonstrated a positive indirect association with MSS achievement (β = 0.028; p = 0.021), while information management competence also showed a significant indirect association (β = 0.037; p = 0.024).Conclusion: Managerial competencies of first-line nurse managers were not directly associated with the achievement of Minimum Service Standards for elderly health. However, these competencies showed significant indirect associations with MSS achievement through job satisfaction, highlighting the importance of fostering supportive work environments to enhance elderly health service performance in primary care settings
Digitalization and Openness as Determinants of Accounting Students’ Readiness for Ai-Based Systems
Objective: This study aims to analyze how digital exposure in the learning process and personality characteristics interact in shaping accounting students’ readiness to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) based accounting systems. The study integrates three main constructs digitalization of the learning environment (X1), the personality dimension of openness to experience (X2), and students’ psychological readiness (Z) into a unified structural model framework. This approach is developed to address the limitations of previous studies that generally examined these three variables separately, and therefore have not been able to comprehensively explain how digital technology exposure and individual characteristics simultaneously shape readiness to adapt to AI technology.
Methodology/Approach: This study employs a quantitative approach with an explanatory research design aimed at testing the relationships among variables within the proposed model. A total of 150 accounting students from several universities in Indonesia participated as research respondents. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method. The analysis stages included testing both the measurement model and the structural model, including indicator reliability, composite reliability, Average Variance Extracted (AVE), and discriminant validity using the Heterotrait–Monotrait Ratio (HTMT) approach. The structural model was evaluated through model fit indices such as SRMR and NFI, multicollinearity analysis using the Variance Inflation Factor (VIF), and model explanatory power through the R-square value and effect size (f²). To ensure the absence of common method bias, this study also applied the Harman single factor test and the full collinearity test. In addition, the testing of direct and indirect relationships, as well as the mediating role, was analyzed using the Variance Accounted For (VAF) calculation.
Findings: The findings indicate that students’ readiness to adopt Artificial Intelligence (AI) based accounting systems is shaped through the interaction between digital learning exposure, the level of openness to experience, and students’ psychological readiness. A digitized learning environment contributes to enhancing students’ understanding and confidence when using AI-based tools, while the openness trait encourages the development of a more constructive attitude toward technological innovation. These findings affirm that readiness for AI implementation in accounting education is not determined solely by the availability of digital infrastructure, but is also strongly influenced by students’ emotional readiness and cognitive capacity. In this context, psychological readiness plays an important role as a connecting mechanism that transforms technological experiences and personality characteristics into actual adaptive capability.
Practical Implications: This study provides recommendations for universities seeking to accelerate digital transformation in accounting education. Such efforts can be implemented through the development of AI integrated learning platforms, the optimization of Learning Management Systems (LMS), and the integration of cloud-based accounting applications into learning practices. In addition to strengthening technological infrastructure, educational institutions also need to pay attention to students’ psychological readiness, including the development of emotional regulation skills, the reduction of technology-related anxiety, and the enhancement of confidence in using AI based systems. Learning strategies should also consider students’ personality characteristics so that the process of technological adaptation can occur more effectively. Furthermore, improving lecturers’ competencies, providing AI literacy training, and establishing collaborations with industry are important steps to ensure alignment between academic competencies and technological demands in the workplace.
Originality/Value:This study offers an integrative framework that simultaneously connects the digitalization of learning, personality factors, and psychological readiness in explaining readiness to adapt to AI an area that has rarely been comprehensively examined in accounting education research. The study not only strengthens the validity of theoretical pathways derived from the UTAUT theory, Big Five Personality, and Emotional Intelligence, but also provides a conceptual contribution by emphasizing the role of partial mediation as a key mechanism in shaping AI adaptation readiness among accounting students
The Structure and Culture of Negotiating Child Victims’ Rights in Cases of Sexual Violence
This article discusses the structure and culture of negotiating children\u27s rights in sexual violence in Surakarta. This study employed a qualitative research method, collecting data through interviews and document analysis. The research writing was structured by data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. Empirical and legal-philosophical approaches were applied to analyse the data, revealing significant weaknesses that require further attention. The lack of protection, justice, and recovery for child victims remains an issue, which hampers the functions of law enforcers, including the police, the prosecutor\u27s office, and the judicial system. Justice in the system is procedural and formalistic in the context of the burden of proof, overlooking the best interests of the child and leaving child victims without justice and fair access to justice and restitution, while being burdened by procedural formalities. As studied, the majority of people in Surakarta are not fully aware of this matter. Stigmatisation lays the blame on the victims, while inadequate psychosocial support for child victims silences them. Without properly addressing these issues, many children experience discrimination and pressure that only hinders their recovery. This study concludes that to provide the necessary protection for child victims of violence and neglect, different sectoral responses need to be coordinated more effectively. Key recommendations include developing child-sensitive skills among law enforcement officials and other agencies, increasing public understanding of children\u27s rights, simplifying regulations to eliminate duplication, and improving integrated, community-based victim services
Pengaruh permainan blok bongkar pasang terhadap kemampuan mental rotation pada dewasa awal
Previous studies have shown that playing with Lego is significantly associated with mental rotation ability in children. This study aimed to examine the effect of block construction play on mental rotation ability in young adults. The study employed a quantitative experimental approach using a non-randomized pre-test post-test control group design. The participants were 30 young adults, divided into 15 individuals in the experimental group and 15 in the control group, all with low to moderate mental rotation ability. Participants were selected using purposive sampling. Mental rotation ability was measured using a mental rotation task. Data were analyzed using the Mann-WhitneyU test to compare scores between groups and the Wilcoxon signed-rank test to compare pre-test and post-test scores within each group. The results showed a significant difference between the experimental and control groups at post-test (p = 0.009 < 0.05). In addition, the experimental group showed a significant improvement (p = 0.002 < 0.05), while the control group showed no significant change (p = 0.189 > 0.05). These findings indicate that block construction play has a positive effect on improving mental rotation ability in young adults with characteristics similar to those of the study participants
Peran pengasuhan ayah terhadap sikap positif dalam memandang pernikahan pada perempuan lajang dewasa awal
An individual\u27s attitude towards marriage is important because it influences various aspects of life, such as happiness, life satisfaction, and psychological well-being. This attitude is not formed suddenly, but is influenced by various factors, one of which is the role of father\u27s caregiving. This study aims to determine the role of father\u27s caregiving on positive attitudes towards marriage in single women in early adulthood. This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The criteria for this research subject are single women in early adulthood who have a father or experience being cared for by a father. The sample in this study amounted to 225 respondents using a purposive sampling technique. The instruments used in this study were the Nurturance Fathering Scale (NFS) and Marital Attitudes Scale (MAS). The results of a simple linear regression analysis test indicate that there is an influence of the role of father\u27s caregiving on positive attitudes towards marriage in single women in early adulthood with a probability value of p = <.001 (p <0.05). The implications of this study emphasize the importance of father\u27s involvement in raising daughters as a factor in forming positive attitudes towards marriage in early adulthood
