Pengaruh keberagaman sosial terhadap kesejahteraan subjektif mahasiswa yang berada di lingkungan multikultural

    No full text
Subjective well-being plays a crucial role in supporting students’ psychological adaptation and academic performance, particularly withincomplex multicultural environments. While diverse social interactions can foster tolerance, they may also present challenges such asalienation or conflict that impact students’ happiness. Therefore, this study investigates how social diversity influences the subjective well-being of undergraduates residing in East Java’s multicultural areas. Employing a quantitative method with a linear regression model, the study involved 154 active undergraduates (aged 18-25) recruited via convenience sampling. The data were gathered using scales assessing social diversity (α =0.70) and subjective well-being (α =0.90). Statistical analysis revealed that social diversity significantly andpositively predicts student well-being (β=0.55, p<0.001) explained by an R2 value of 16%. This finding indicates that the greater the experience of social diversity possessed by students, the higher their level of subjective well being

    No full text
Online pornography use represents a form of media consumption involving sexual content that can influence how individuals perceive and express their sexual behavior. The increasing accessibility of online pornographic content among young men raises concerns about the escalation of risky sexual behaviors. This study aims to examine the relationship between online pornography use and risky sexual behavior among unmarried men. This research employed a quantitative correlational approach with a cross-sectional design, involving 387 male respondents aged 16–35 years. The instruments used were the Internet Pornography Questionnaire (IPQ) and the Sexual Risk Survey (SRS), and data were analyzed using the Spearman’s rho correlation test. The results showed a significant relationship between online pornography use and risky sexual behavior (ρ<0.05). These findings indicate that a higher level of acceptance toward pornography is associated with a greater tendency for individuals to engage in risky sexual behaviors. This study highlights the importance of sexual literacy and the enhancement of self-control as preventive efforts to mitigate the negative impacts of online pornography use among unmarried men

Marine biodiversity awareness and engagement among students: Implications for local conservation policy

    No full text
Background: As a municipality hosting a rich coastal ecosystem, Bagac serves as a vital focal point for translating global marine conservation frameworks into local action. Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate higher education students\u27 awareness of marine biodiversity alongside Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 14—to conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas, and marine resources—and explore the translational gap between academic research and policy engagement. Methods: Utilizing a descriptive cross-sectional survey design, data were collected from 383 undergraduate students using a validated instrument that concurrently captured quantitative ratings and qualitative open-ended responses. Results: Quantitative results revealed a significant skill-gap paradox: while students exhibited strong pro-conservation values, 86.9% had never participated in marine research. A strong correlation existed between perceived institutional engagement and academic policy awareness (ρ = 0.795, p < .001), alongside a significant curricular divide in baseline awareness across academic disciplines (p = .003). Qualitative thematic analysis attributed this translational gap to structural barriers, specifically jargon-heavy academic language and the challenges in collaborative platforms with local government. Conclusion: Theoretical environmental awareness experiences challenges in policy translation without active institutional scaffolding. Universities may bridge this science-to-policy gap by systematically integrating SDG 14 across all curricula and establishing platforms to train students in translating research into actionable local policy

Framing Political Legitimacy after the 2024 Indonesian Presidential Election: A Comparative Analysis of Detik.com and Kompas.com

This study examines how mainstream online media construct the narrative of the victory of presidential candidate pair number 02 in Indonesia’s 2024 Presidential Election (Prabowo Subianto – Gibran Rakabuming Raka). The analysis focuses on post-election coverage published by Detik.com and Kompas.com, employing Robert N. Entman’s framing model with four key elements: define problems, diagnose causes, make moral judgments, and suggest remedies. The data consist of six news articles published between 14 February–21 March 2024. The findings reveal that Detik.com tends to frame the victory of candidate pair 02 affirmatively, emphasizing electoral legitimacy and institutional support. In contrast, Kompas.com highlights democratic concerns, public criticism, and expectations regarding future governance. These framing differences reflect the editorial orientations and audience segmentation of each outlet. The study argues that post-election news coverage is not merely about reporting vote counts but also about constructing political legitimacy within the digital public sphere. This research contributes to media and political communication studies by demonstrating how online media framing shapes public opinion and reinforces or challenges political victory narratives in Indonesia’s digital democracy

Technology integration in Indonesian language learning is a crucial requirement in the transformation of 21st-century education, but its implementation at the classroom level still faces various obstacles. This study aims to analyze the obstacles to technology integration in Indonesian language learning in the Solo Raya region using the Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge (TPACK) framework. This study used an evaluative research design with the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) model and applied a mixed-method approach with a dominant qualitative approach. Data were collected through classroom observations, in-depth interviews with Indonesian language teachers and MGMP coordinators, questionnaire distribution, and analysis of digital learning documentation. The research subjects included Indonesian language teachers and junior high school students in the Surakarta, Karanganyar, Boyolali, and Wonogiri regions. Data were analyzed descriptively qualitatively using the interactive analysis model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, with triangulation applied to maintain the validity of the findings. The results showed that obstacles to technology integration stem not only from teachers\u27 limited technological knowledge, but also from the weak integration between technological knowledge, pedagogy, and Indonesian language learning content. Technology tends to be used instrumentally and has not been pedagogically integrated. Contextual factors such as limited infrastructure and students\u27 digital literacy contribute to these barriers. This study concludes that effective technology integration in Indonesian language learning requires holistic and contextual strengthening of TPACK, not simply improving digital device proficiency

Job Characteristics on Employee Performance: Well-Being as Mediation and Inclusive Leadership as Moderation

    No full text
This study examines the effect of job characteristics on employee performance, with well-being as a mediating mechanism and inclusive leadership as a moderating condition. A quantitative survey was conducted among employees of an oil and gas company in West Java, Indonesia, involving 133 respondents (n = 133). Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The study assessed job characteristics (autonomy, task variety, task significance, task identity, feedback), well-being (physical, psychological, social relationships, environment), inclusive leadership (openness, availability, accessibility), and employee performance (job knowledge, judgment, quality of outputs, innovation, teamwork, leadership, goal setting). The findings reveal that job characteristics positively and significantly predict employee performance (β = 0.452; t = 5.247; p = 0.000) and well-being (β = 0.452; t = 6.416; p = 0.000). Well-being also shows a significant positive effect on employee performance (β = 0.367; t = 4.595; p = 0.017). Mediation analysis confirms that well-being significantly mediates the relationship between job characteristics and employee performance (t = 4.219; p = 0.001), indicating that meaningful, autonomous, and feedback-rich jobs enhance performance partly by improving employees’ well-being. Moderation testing further demonstrates that inclusive leadership strengthens the job characteristics–performance relationship (t = 2.209; p = 0.027), suggesting that leaders who are open, accessible, and supportive amplify the performance gains from well-designed jobs. The structural model shows strong explanatory power for employee performance (R² = 0.749) and moderate explanatory power for well-being (R² = 0.326). Theoretically, this study contributes by integrating a psychological pathway (well-being) and a boundary condition (inclusive leadership) into the job design–performance linkage. Practically, the results highlight the importance of optimizing job design, investing in workplace well-being initiatives, and developing inclusive leadership behaviors to sustain higher performance in complex task environments. Overall, the study underscores that aligning job characteristics with employee well-being and inclusive leadership is pivotal for improving employee performance

    No full text
This community empowerment activity aims to describe an innovation in Qur’an reading instruction through the implementation of the Tilawati method at Madin Ula ‘Aisyiyah Kemendung Kediri to improve early childhood Qur’an reading skills. The background arises from conventional learning using the sorogan method, which often causes boredom and suboptimal results. The study employed a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach involving the active participation of the community, teachers, and students over four weeks through observation, pre-test, Tilawati implementation, and evaluation stages. The results show a paradigm shift from spelling to melodic recitation, fostering motivation and spiritual awareness. The average reading score increased from 66.8 to 77.3. Beyond enhancing technical reading ability, the Tilawati method also strengthened teacher professionalism, developed a religious culture within the madrasa, and created an enjoyable learning atmosphere. Thus, the Tilawati method effectively improves both the quality of learning and students’ spiritual attitudes
