Elaborasi Kompetensi Profesional Guru Kristen Sebagai Penguatan Karakter Anti Kekerasan di Sekolah Desa Tenalai
Purpose – The aim of the PKM activity is to strengthen the professional competence of Christian teachers as agents of strengthening anti-violence character in schools in Tenalai Village, Landu Leko District, Rote Ndao Regency.
Design/methodology/approach –The PKM activity used the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, discussing the implementation of anti-violence values with Christian teachers and other school staff. The collected data was then processed and analyzed reductively.
Findings – The results of the Community Service Program activities show that Christian teachers at Tenalai Village School, Landu Leko District, Rote Ndao Regency who have mastered professional competencies are required to: (1) Design lesson materials, manage, and evaluate learning that contains anti-violence values; (2) Be able to apply science and technology in learning to strengthen anti-violence characters; (3) Be able to develop interactive learning skills to make every member of the school aware of the benefits of realizing an anti-violence character. Living these three indicators as an approach that is able to strengthen an anti-violence character, which is useful in providing a sense of security, comfort, order, justice, solidarity, and love in carrying out various activities.
Originality/value – The implications and novelty of this PKM activity is to open the horizons of Christian teachers that mastery of professional competencies is not only limited to the theoretical realm for strengthening anti-violence character, but professionally can collaborate with various human resources in the school environment, in order to disseminate anti-violence character education in schools
The Concept of Benefidonors in Sustaining Community Development through Individual Member Waqf Beneficiaries
This study investigates the role of waqf in sustaining community development through a novel hybrid concept termed “benefidonors” individuals who simultaneously function as both beneficiaries and donors within the waqf ecosystem. Drawing on prosumerism, ConsuMerchant behavior and the Islamic principle of mutual cooperation (ta’awun), it is posits that active participation through sharing, using and re-donating waqf, significantly enhance multiple dimensions of community well-being. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected via a structured survey instrument administered to 304 verified waqf beneficiaries from the Yayasan Waqf Malaysia database, representing diverse socio-demographic backgrounds across Peninsular Malaysia. The instrument, validated through pilot testing (n = 50) and expert review, employed multi-item Likert scales adapted from established literature to measure seven outcome variables: human capital, physical health, religious capital, family development, social capital, quality of life, and economic capital. Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was used for data analysis. Results indicate that the benefidonor concept exerts a significant influence across all seven domains, with particularly strong effects on economic and human capital. While the study offers actionable insights for waqf institutions such as developing digital platforms to facilitate sharing, usage, and re-donation it is limited by its cross-sectional design and focus on existing beneficiaries, which may constrain generalizability. Nonetheless, the findings underscore the potential of transforming passive recipients into active co-creators of sustainable community development through the benefidonor model
The merger of Islamic banks in Indonesia: Do financial ratios and inflation matter?
The study aims to investigate the effect of financial ratios and inflation on the stock price of Bank Syariah Indonesia using the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) approach. This research was quantitative with variables studied include the Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), Return on Assets (ROA), Net Operating Margin (NOM), Operating Costs to Operating Income (BOPO), Financing to Deposit Ratio (FDR), and Inflation. Data were observed from the BSI bank merger in February 2021 to August 2024 by using the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) method. The results indicate that in the long term, all variables have no significant effect on stock prices. Meanwhile, in the short term, ROA had a significant positive effect on stock prices, NOM and FDR had a significant negative effect, while CAR, BOPO, and inflation had no significant effect on stock prices, indicating stock price dynamics. Thus, the findings of this study indicate that investors are more responsive to changes in the financial performance of Indonesian Islamic banks in the short term than in the long term. This research contributes theoretically by showing that market responses to firm fundamentals and economic conditions occur through gradual adjustment rather than instant reactions. Practically, the findings assist investors and policymakers in understanding key fundamental and macroeconomic determinants of stock prices for the stability of Islamic banking
Effect of tube shape variations on the mechanical performance of a runflat installation and removal tool using finite element analysis
The increasing demand for operational efficiency in military vehicle maintenance has highlighted the need for effective tools for the installation and removal of runflat systems in armored vehicles. This study investigates the influence of tube cross-sectional geometry on the mechanical performance of a runflat installation and removal tool through finite element analysis (FEA) using ANSYS Workbench 2021 R2. Three tube geometries—hexagonal, octagonal, and circular—were modeled using SS400 structural steel as the material. Two loading scenarios were analyzed: bead loosening and runflat pressing. The evaluated parameters included Von Mises stress, total strain, total displacement, and safety factor. Simulation results indicate that the octagonal tube geometry demonstrated the best overall performance in the bead loosening scenario, with the lowest Von Mises stress (86.078 MPa), minimal strain (0.0001888 mm/mm), moderate displacement (0.62883 mm), and the highest safety factor (2.672). The circular tube geometry achieved the lowest displacement (0.59168 mm) but exhibited higher stress levels. In the runflat pressing scenario, all geometries operated within safe limits, with stress levels ranging from 11–14 MPa and safety factors reaching the maximum value of 15. These findings suggest that an octagonal tube geometry offers an optimal balance between strength, deformation control, and safety, making it suitable for field applications without revealing sensitive manufacturing details
The PBL materials integrated with critical thinking skills in improving EFL learners’ reading comprehension and linguistic awareness
This study investigates the effectiveness of problem-based learning (PBL) materials integrated with critical thinking skills in enhancing English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners’ reading comprehension and linguistic awareness. Employing a mixed-method concurrent embedded design, the research involved 75 senior high school students in Central Lombok, Indonesia, divided into experimental and control groups. The experimental group received PBL-based instruction, while the control group was taught using non PBL instruction. Quantitative data were collected through pre- and post-tests on reading comprehension and linguistic awareness, complemented by a critical thinking assessment. Qualitative data were obtained from learner interviews to capture perceptions and experiences. The results revealed that the experimental group demonstrated significant improvements in both reading comprehension and linguistic awareness compared to the control group. Statistical analyses, including t-tests and ANOVA, confirmed the positive impact of integrating PBL with critical thinking, with reading comprehension showing greater gains than linguistic awareness. Qualitative findings further highlighted that students valued the collaborative, problem-solving nature of PBL, which fostered deeper engagement with texts and encouraged reflection. However, while improvements in critical thinking were evident, they were relatively modest, suggesting the need for explicit scaffolding of higher-order reasoning within the PBL framework. The findings confirm that PBL integrated with critical thinking constitutes an effective instructional model for promoting EFL learners’ linguistic and cognitive development, offering valuable implications for teachers, curriculum designers, and policymakers seeking to foster meaningful, student-centered language learning
Enhancing Legal Literacy on Marriage Dispensation: A Community-Based Education Model in Klampok Village: Mewujudkan Perlindungan Anak Melalui Hukum: Pendidikan Berbasis Masyarakat tentang Dispensasi Kawin di Klampok Village Kecamatan Singosari Kabupaten Malang
The phenomenon of child marriage remains a critical issue in various regions of Indonesia, including Klampok Village, Kecamatan Singosari, Kabupaten Malang. Although Law Number 16 of 2019 has raised the minimum legal age for marriage to 19 years, applications for marriage dispensation remain high and are often misunderstood as a legal justification for underage marriage. This community service initiative sought to improve public awareness of the legal structure related to marriage dispensation, including its procedural obligations and the social-legal implications of early marriage. The methods used included legal lectures, interactive discussions, and the administration of pre- and post-tests to assess participants’ knowledge improvement. The results showed that prior to the activity, most participants lacked awareness of the legal provisions governing marriage dispensation and tended to view early marriage as a social or religious necessity. However, a significant improvement was observed after the intervention. Post-test results revealed that 53% of participants answered all questions correctly, marking a sharp increase compared to pre-test scores. This indicates that community-based legal education is effective in improving legal literacy and influencing community attitudes toward child marriage. The program is recommended for replication in other areas with high rates of marriage dispensation to support broader efforts in child protection and legal empowerment at the grassroots level.

Mewujudkan Perlindungan Anak Melalui Hukum: Pendidikan Berbasis Masyarakat tentang Dispensasi Kawin di Klampok Village Kecamatan Singosari Kabupaten Malang
Berbagai wilayah di Indonesia masih berhadapan dengan fenomena pernikahan dini termasuk di Klampok Village, Kecamatan Singosari, Kabupaten Malang. Sekalipun pasangan yang ingin melakukan perkawinan sekurang – kurangnya telah berusia 19 tahun sebagaimana diatur dalam Undang-Undang Nomor 16 Tahun 2019 yang merupakan perubahan dari syarat sebelumnya, permohonan dispensasi nikah masih tinggi dan sering kali disalahpahami sebagai bentuk pembenaran hukum. Tujuan dari program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah guna meningkatkan literasi masyarakat terkait dispensasi nikah, dasar hukumnya, serta dampak sosial dan hukum dari pernikahan usia dini. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi ceramah hukum, dialog interaktif, serta preliminary test and final test untuk mengetahui apakah literasi masyarakat bertambah dengan adanya program ini. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa sebelum kegiatan dilaksanakan, sebagian besar peserta belum memahami prosedur hukum dispensasi nikah dan cenderung menganggap pernikahan dini sebagai solusi sosial atau agama. Namun, setelah kegiatan berlangsung, terjadi peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman hukum peserta. Sebanyak 53% peserta berhasil menjawab benar seluruh soal post-test, meningkat drastis dibandingkan pre-test. inisiatif ini menggambarkan bahwa edukasi seputar hukum yang dilakukan berbasis komunitas secara signifikan meningkatkan kesadaran hukum penduduk pedesaan, sementara juga mempromosikan perubahan sudut pandang mengenai tradisi pernikahan anak. Kegiatan ini direkomendasikan untuk direplikasi di wilayah lain dengan angka dispensasi nikah tinggi guna mendukung upaya perlindungan anak secara menyeluruh
Taharah Fiqh Development Based on Interactive Learning Model for Adolescent Women at Raudlotul Jannah Nganjuk Mosque
This researcher aims to (1) describe the process of fostering fiqh taharah based on an interactive learning model for adolescent girls at the Roudlotul Jannah Nganjuk mosque; (2) Analyze the impact of the interactive learning model in improving the understanding and skills of taharah practice through this community empowerment activity. This study uses a qualitative approach with participatory action research design and case study research types. The research focuses on the process and impact of the application of interactive learning models in fostering fiqh taharah in the adolescent girls of the Roudotul Jannah Nganjuk Mosque. The results of the study show that the application of the interactive learning model through discussions, demonstrations, simulations, questions and answers, and direct practice is able to increase participants\u27 activeness, deepen their understanding of the concept of taharah, and improve the skills of purification practice. The increase can be seen from the results of the pretest and posttest as well as changes in the behavior of participants in the implementation of ablution, mandatory bathing, and tayamum. This coaching also contributes to increasing the religious awareness, discipline, and confidence of young women in carrying out worship. Thus, fiqh thaharah coaching based on an interactive learning model is effectively applied as a community empowerment strategy in the mosque environment
Rapid Aid Education For Burns Through The Hospital Health Program Of The Surgical Polyclinic Of Rsud Haji Surabaya
Background: Burns are a global public health problem with high morbidity and mortality, so rapid and appropriate first aid is crucial to prevent complications and improve patients\u27 quality of life. However, many people still take incorrect initial steps, necessitating hospital-based health education to increase public knowledge and awareness. Objective: Increase patient, family and community knowledge about the correct first aid steps for burns and reduce the number of complications due to incorrect initial treatment of burns. Methods: This study used the Service Learning method with a pre-test and post-test design to assess the effectiveness of the outreach program. The activity was conducted in the waiting room of the Surgical Polyclinic at Haji Hospital, Surabaya, and was attended by 30 respondents. The educational intervention included delivering material using PowerPoint presentations, leaflets, and posters, as well as interactive discussion sessions and quizzes. Data were collected through pre-test and post-test questionnaires to measure the increase in respondents\u27 knowledge. Analysis was conducted by comparing the average scores before and after the intervention to assess significant increases in knowledge. Results: On the pretest, most participants achieved only low to moderate scores, with the highest distribution at 40 (26.7%) and 30 (20%). In contrast, on the posttest, most participants achieved high scores, with 43.3% achieving a perfect score (100) and 30% achieving a score of 90
Analisis Retensi Tenaga Kerja Panen Kelapa Sawit dengan Random Forest pada Perusahaan XYZ
Sektor kelapa sawit berperan krusial dalam perekonomian Indonesia. Perusahaan XYZ turut berkontribusi dalam bidang ini, maka retensi, yaitu kemampuan perusahaan mempertahankan tenaga kerja panen kelapa sawit, menjadi penting untuk menjaga stabilitas dan kinerjanya. Random Forest diusulkan sebagai algoritma untuk mengklasifikasikan retensi tenaga kerja panen kelapa sawit. Berisi data 370 pekerja selama satu bulan, dataset diperoleh dari HRD dengan memadukan fitur kategorikal serta numerik. Tahap preprocessing meliputi data cleaning, pembuatan dan seleksi fitur, transformasi data, serta mengatasi distribusi kelas yang tidak seimbang dengan SMOTE. Rasio splitting data yaitu 70% untuk data train dan 30% untuk data test. Evaluasi model dilakukan melalui dua pendekatan: parameter default menghasilkan akurasi 98%, sedangkan hyperparameter tuning dengan GridSearchCV memperoleh akurasi yang lebih tinggi, yaitu 99%. Efektivitas Random Forest dalam mengklasifikasikan retensi tenaga kerja panen kelapa sawit terbukti melalui hasil ini. Wawasan dari penelitian ini memungkinkan HRD untuk memperkuat taktik retensi, mengoptimalkan produktivitas tenaga kerja, dan mendukung pengambilan keputusan berbasis data
Integrating the Acehnese folklore and augmented reality to enhance EFL speaking
This study investigated the effectiveness of integrating Acehnese folklore Amat Rahmanyang into an Augmented Reality (AR) based learning environment to enhance English as a foreign language (EFL) learners’ speaking skills. Despite growing evidence supporting AR in language learning, Indonesia has explored the pedagogical integration of culturally grounded content, particularly local folklore from underrepresented communities like Aceh. This mixed methods study involved 25 first-grade students at SMA IT Al-Uswah, Sigli, Indonesia. It employed a one-group quasi-experimental design, combining pre-test and post-test assessments with thematic analysis of student interviews. The intervention utilized an AR application featuring the Acehnese tale of Amat Rahmanyang, delivered through interactive 3D animations, audio narration, and visual storytelling tasks. Speaking performance was evaluated using a CEFR-based analytic rubric. Quantitative findings indicated a significant improvement in students’ speaking scores, with mean scores rising from 10.24 (A2 level) to 17.00 (B1 level), confirmed by a paired sample t-test (t = 15.89, p < 0.001). Qualitative data revealed increased learner confidence, enhanced cultural engagement, and greater awareness of pronunciation and vocabulary use. Students expressed that familiarity with the folklore made speaking tasks more meaningful and reduced anxiety. The study concludes that integrating culturally familiar stories within AR-enhanced instruction provides not only linguistic benefits but also emotional and cultural relevance, fostering a more engaging and effective learning environment
