The Effect of Interval Training on Increasing VO2max in Freestyle Swimming Athletes
Swimming is one of the water sports that is already popular among the public, many components are needed to maximize swimming skills, one of which is aerobic endurance VO2MAX. This study aims to examine the effect of interval training on increasing VO2MAX of freestyle swimmers. This research method uses an experimental method with a One Group PreTest PostTest Design design involving 10 freestyle swimmers from the Water Speed Aquatic Club. Sample selection uses a Purposive Sampling technique, with 12 treatments. The instrument used to collect VO2MAX data is the Aerobic Step Test 5 x 200 meters, this instrument is applied before and after using a paired sample T-test. Based on the results of data processing spss, it shows that the Sig. (2-tailed) value is 0.000 <0.05. The results of the pretest-posttest and the overall difference in athletes obtained a pretest score of 58.593 then an increase in the posttest with a value of 61,412 with an average value of 57.44. So it is concluded that there is an effect of interval training on increasing the VO2MAX of freestyle swimming athletes
The Effect of Combined Hypertrophy-Neural Training Methods and Neural Training Methods on The Improvement of Maximum Strength in The Lower Limbs of Muay Thai Athletes
Strength is very important for achieving optimal performance in sports, serving to develop other biomotor components. A lack of maximum strength will have an impact on the decline of biomotor components and increase the risk. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was an effect of the combination of hypertrophy-neural training and neural training methods on the increase in maximum leg muscle strength in Muay Thai athletes. This study employed an experimental method with a quantitative approach, using a two-group pre-test post-test design. It involved 30 Muay Thai athletes at Ares Fighting Camp, and the sample selection used total sampling. The treatment consisted of 18 sessions at the beginning and end of the sample period, with a Leg Dynamometer test administered to determine the components of leg muscle strength in the sample. After the data was obtained, the Mann-Whitney hypothesis test yielded a statistical Sig value (2-tailed) of 0.360, which was greater than the probability value of 0.05. Therefore, it can be concluded that there was no difference in the effect of the combination of neural hypertrophy training and neural training methods on increasing the maximum leg muscle strength of Muay Thai athletes. It is recommended that coaches and athletes increase maximum leg muscle strength using the neural hypertrophy combination training method because it targets the desired physiological adaptation by combining two training phases: the hypertrophy phase to increase muscle volume/strength and the neural phase to increase nerve activation efficiency and compact the body so that strength can be increased while adding muscle volume
The Relationship Between Psychosocial Stressors and Burnout in Football Referees in Bandung City
Football referees play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and smooth running of matches, yet they frequently face social and emotional pressure from players, coaches, and spectators, which can trigger psychosocial stressors. Environmental pressure and repeated verbal or physical aggression can potentially lead to emotional exhaustion and burnout, ultimately impacting the referee\u27s psychological well-being and performance on the field. This study aims to analyze the relationship between psychosocial stressors, including environmental pressure and aggression, and burnout levels among football referees in Bandung. The research approach used was a quantitative correlational approach with a cross-sectional design. The results showed that environmental pressure had a significant positive relationship with emotional exhaustion (ρ= 0.666; p < 0.01) and cynicism (ρ= 0.400; p < 0.01). In addition, aggression is also significantly related to emotional exhaustion (ρ= 0.388; p < 0.01), but was not related to professional efficacy (ρ= 0.062; p = 0.671). These findings indicate that the higher the social pressure and aggression experienced, the greater the likelihood of referees experiencing burnout, especially in the emotional dimension. Therefore, psychological counseling programs, stress management training, and ongoing social support are needed for referees to maintain their mental well-being and professionalism
The Effect of Battle Rope Training on the Long Throw Ability of Football Athlete
This study aims to determine the effect of battle ropes training on the long throw-in ability of football athletes. The study used an experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design involving 12 male football athletes from Jasukars FC. The training program was carried out for 16 meetings over four weeks with variations of Power Slams, Double Waves, Jumping Slams, Plank Battle Ropes, and Squat to Waves exercises. Data were collected using the Throw-in Distance Measurement instrument and analyzed through the Shapiro-Wilk normality test and the Paired Sample t-test. The results showed a significant increase in long throw-in ability after being given battle ropes training. This increase was caused by the development of upper body strength, explosive power, and core muscle stability produced through dynamic and isometric contractions during the exercise. These findings reinforce that battle ropes training is able to provide specific motor transfer to throw-in mechanics, thereby increasing throwing efficiency and distance. Thus, battle ropes training is recommended as an effective alternative in developing functional strength and throw-in ability for football athletes
Risk Level of Exercise Posture on Musculoskeletal Disorder in Petanque Athletes
This study aims to analyse the risk level of exercise posture on musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) at the Faculty of Sports and Health Science , Makassar State University (UNM). Petanque requires athletes to perform repetitive movements and maintain certain body positions, especially when throwing, which can potentially cause musculoskeletal disorders. This study employs a descriptive observational design with a cross-sectional approach. Data were obtained through direct observation of athletes\u27 working posture during activities and analysed using the Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA) method to assess the level of posture risk for musculoskeletal complaints. The results of the analysis showed that most athletes were in the low to moderate risk category, especially in the back, upper arm and wrist, caused by non-ergonomic body positions when throwing. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the posture of petanque athletes contributes to an increased risk of musculoskeletal disorders, thus requiring attention to the application of ergonomic principles and improvement of posture techniques in training to reduce the potential for musculoskeletal injuries
Tiktok Social Media as a Platform for Promoting a Healthy Lifestyle Through Creative Exercise Videos
This study aims to explore in depth the use of the social media platform TikTok as a tool for promoting healthy lifestyles through the distribution of creative exercise videos presented in an innovative and captivating way. This study applies a descriptive qualitative method with content analysis techniques, involving 20 creative physical exercise videos on TikTok selected based on their high engagement and viral nature. Data collection was conducted through structured observation, audio-visual recording, and examination of the health messages contained in each video, whether through verbal, non-verbal, or visual elements. The analysis focused on patterns of information delivery, movement aesthetics, music utilization, and user interaction mechanisms. Research findings reveal that creative exercise videos on TikTok have great potential as a means of promoting health. Several factors that increase the effectiveness of the content include: easy and repetitive exercise movements that are simple to follow, dynamic music to boost enthusiasm, short video lengths so as not to tire the viewer, and lively visual elements to evoke emotional appeal. Furthermore, TikTok\u27s interactive features such as comment sections, duets, stitches, and challenges have been proven to encourage user participation in reproducing exercise movements, thereby creating a chain effect that expands the spread of health promotion messages. The results of the study confirm that TikTok is not only an entertainment platform, but also an efficient health communication channel with a visual-learning approach. This digital participation-based health promotion model has the potential as a contemporary strategy to increase public awareness and motivation toward physical activity and the formation of healthy lifestyles. Therefore, TikTok holds strategic value in the development of public health programs during the digital transformation era.
Visual Imagery in the Novel Kun Fakayun and Dan, Dialah Dia by Andi Bombang
Two novels by Adi Bombang titled Kun Fayakun and Dan, Dialah Dia are very strong in telling stories with visual imagery. The problem of how the author Andi Bombang presents visual imagery in his two novels will be discussed in this study. The study of imagery in novels will provide enrichment for the training of techniques for building novel language. The approach used in this study is a stylistic approach using Leech\u27s theory. The data of this study is the use of majas in two religious novels Kun Fayakun and Dan, Dialah Dia is the dominant one to present visual imagery. The results of the study show that the visual imagery in these two novels is present in the form of personification and hyperbole. The function of imagery in these two novels is not only to beautify the language, but also to strengthen the themes, create an atmosphere, and reveal the conflicts that exist in the story. The meaning of imagery in these two novels is also closely related to the moral message and life values that the author wants to convey. This study found that the use of visual imagery in both novels by Adi Bombang is very effective in depicting the character\u27s mood, reinforcing major themes such as life and spirituality, and revealing inner conflicts in the narrative. In addition, the figurative language techniques used, such as personification and hyperbole, not only beautify the language but also provide emotional depth to the story. This research provides benefits for society, and the development of science, especially readers and literary reviewers, in understanding the power of language in depicting emotional and spiritual realities through visual imagery. In terms of scientific development, this study enriches the discourse of stylistic theory, especially in understanding how visual imagery can be applied in literature to enrich the reader\u27s experience and deepen understanding of universal life themes
The Effect Of The Synectics Learning Model On Students’ Ability To Write Short Stories At Grade VII MTs Pondok Pesantren Al-Muktariah Sungai Dua
This study was motivated by the low ability of students in writing short stories, which was generally limited to simple ideas, incoherent plots, and a lack of conflict exploration. The learning model applied by teachers was still conventional and less effective in encouraging students’ creativity. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the synectics learning model on students’ ability to write short stories at grade VII MTs Pondok Pesantren Al-Muktariah Sungai Dua. This research employed a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The subjects were two classes, with the experimental class taught using the synectics model and the control class taught using a conventional model. The instrument was a short story writing test analyzed through normality, homogeneity, and independent t-test. The results showed that both groups had relatively similar initial abilities, but after treatment there was a significant difference with t = 4.989; p = 0.000. The mean posttest score of the experimental group (76.70) was higher than the control group (67.73). The conclusion is that the synectics learning model has a significant effect on improving students’ short story writing ability. This finding reinforces the theory that analogy and conflict exploration in synectics effectively stimulate creativity, enrich narrative ideas, and enhance students’ motivation to write
