Identification And Determination of Levels the Drug Chemical Sibutramin Hydrochloride in Body Slimming Herbs Circulating in the City of Salatiga
Background: Sibutramine hydrochloride is strictly prohibited from being present in weight loss herbal medicines according to the regulations of the Indonesian National Agency of Drug and Food Control (Badan POM RI) No.KH.00.01.43. However, due to increasing competition, many traditional medicine producers seek greater profits by adding sibutramine hydrochloride (SH) to their products.
Aim: This study aimed to establish the validity of the UV-VIS spectrophotometer method for analyzing sibutramine hydrochloride and to test the levels and content of sibutramine hydrochloride in weight loss herbal medicine samples sold in Salatiga City.
Materials and Methods: A total of 8 samples of weight loss capsules obtained from traditional medicine stores in Salatiga City were subjected to qualitative and quantitative tests. Validation parameters included linearity, limit of detection (LoD), limit of quantification (LoQ), precision, and accuracy.
Results: The study revealed a linear regression equation of y=0.0397x + 0.046 with r=0.9975 and r^2=0.9950, with a maximum wavelength of 223 nm. The LOD was 1.01 mg/L and LOQ was 3.37 mg/L. Precision, expressed as % RSD, was 0.147%, and percent recoveries (% recovery) were 98.263%, 89.337%, and 91.703%. Qualitative tests on each sample compared spectra and maximum wavelengths with standard sibutramine hydrochloride spectra, identifying samples A, B, C, E, and F as negative for sibutramine hydrochloride, while samples D, G, and H tested positive. Quantitative analysis determined sibutramine hydrochloride concentrations in weight loss herbal medicines using linear regression equations. The concentrations in samples D, G, and H were 6.0117 mg/L, 6.7254 mg/L, and 6.0117 mg/L, respectively. The percentage content of sibutramine hydrochloride in samples D, G, and H was 3.00%, 3.36%, and 3.00%, respectively.
Conclusion: The UV-VIS spectrophotometer method is validated for analyzing sibutramine hydrochloride in weight loss herbal medicines across all tested parameters. Samples A, B, C, E, and F were found negative for sibutramine hydrochloride, whereas samples D, G, and H tested positive
Formulation and Test of Antioxidant Activity of Serum Active Fraction of Red Pomegranate Skin Extract (Punica granatum L.) by FRAP Method (Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Power)
Aging of the body occurs with age, which can be seen in the skin. Skin aging is a physiological process that occurs in the human body. Free radicals are one of the causes of skin aging. By using antioxidant compounds, you can stop the increase in free radicals. Red pomegranate peel extract (Punica granatum L.) is one of the natural ingredients for a natural antioxidant, cause it’s contains polyphenols such as tannins. The aim of this research was to determine the fraction of pomegranate peel extract with the highest antioxidant activity and to determine the optimal serum formula for the red pomegranate peel fraction. The antioxidant activity testing method used in this research is the FRAP method (ferric reducing antioxidant power). The sample extract is fractionated, and then the fraction that has the highest antioxidant activity is made into a serum preparation formulation and preparation evaluation test. Based on the results of total tannin levels in all samples also showed positive results with a change in the color of the solution to bluish. The results of the antioxidant activity of all samples were categorized as very strong antioxidants as stated in the IC value50 < 50 ppm. Optimizing the antioxidant serum formulation used HPMC concentrations of 0.5%, 1% and 2% respectively. The results obtained from testing antioxidant activity obtained IC values50 the best was 0.368 ppm for the ethyl acetate fraction of red pomegranate peel. Optimizing the serum formula used a HPMC concentration of 1%, with an IC value50 amounting to 133,903 ppm
Formulation and Antibacterial Activity Testing of Nanoemulsion Cream from Coriander Seed Extract (Coriandrum sativum L.) in Inhibiting Protein Synthesis of Staphylococcus aureus Bacteria
Bullous impetigo is a contagious skin infection caused by Staphylococcus aureus, characterized by the formation of fluid-filled bullae. The use of topical antibiotics for impetigo treatment has side effects, including the increased risk of bacterial resistance, leading to reduced efficacy. Natural alternatives such as coriander seeds (Coriandrum sativum L.) have the potential as antibacterial agents with fewer side effects. This study aimed to formulate and evaluate the antibacterial activity of a nanoemulsion cream containing coriander seed extract against Staphylococcus aureus. The extraction of coriander seeds was carried out using the maceration method with 96% ethanol to obtain a thick extract, followed by phytochemical screening to qualitatively identify bioactive compounds and a quantitative total flavonoid test, which resulted in a flavonoid content of 61.64 mg QE/g. The nanoemulsion was formulated using PEG 400 and VCO as the oil phase, while Tween 80, distilled water, and coriander seed extract at concentrations of 2.5%, 5%, and 7.5% were used as the aqueous phase. The nanoemulsion was then incorporated into a cream base containing stearic acid, cera alba, and white vaseline as the oil phase, and TEA, propylene glycol, methylparaben, and distilled water as the aqueous phase, heated in a water bath at 75°C. The resulting preparations were evaluated and tested for antibacterial activity using the well diffusion method. The bioactive compounds identified in coriander seed extract include alkaloids, saponins, tannins, terpenoids, and flavonoids, which exhibit antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus. The antibacterial test results showed that the inhibition zones for F1 (2.5%), F2 (5%), and F3 (7.5%) were 15.00 mm, 22.00 mm, and 28.33 mm, respectively, while the positive control had an inhibition zone of 30.67 mm. The highest antibacterial activity was obtained at the F3 concentration (7.5%) with an inhibition zone diameter of 28.33 mm, classified as very strong
Gambaran Tingkat Pengetahuan Tentang Imunitas Dan Gizi Seimbang Di Kelurahan Karang Asam Ilir Samarinda Kalimantan Timur
Latar belakang : Pengetahuan terkait imunitas dan gizi seimbang merupakan hal yang sangat penting dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Berdasarkan hasil studi pendahuluan diketahui bahwa mayoritas warga RT.12 memiliki tingkat pengetahuan gizi seimbang dalam kategori cukup dengan rentang 40% dan kurang 60% sedangkan tingkat pengetahuan imunitas dalam kategori kurang dengan rentang 100%. Tujuan : Mengetahui gambaran tingkat pengetahuan imunitas dan gizi seimbang di Kelurahan Karang Asam Ilir RT. 12 Samarinda, Kalimantan Timur. Metode penelitian : Penelitian ini menggunakan deskriptif kuantitati dengan pengambilan sampel menggunakan random sampling pada 64 responden. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik wawancara dan instrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian ini kuesioner tingkat pengetahuan imunitas, dan tingkat pengetahuan gizi seimbang. Data di analisis menggunakan analisis univariat. Hasil : Hasil penelitian tingkat pengetahuan tentang imunitas ditemukan bahwa terdapat 38 responden memiliki tingkat pengetahuan kurang, 18 responden memiliki tingkat pengetahuan cukup, dan 8 responden memiliki tingkat pengetahuan baik. Pada tingkat pengetahuan gizi seimbang ditemukan bahwa terdapat 31 responden memiliki tingkat pengetahauan cukup, 26 responden memiliki tingkat pengetahuan kurang dan 7 responden memiliki tingkat pengetahuan baik. Kesimpulan: dari hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa Tingkat pengetahuan tentang imunitas dan gizi seimbang masih tergolong kuran
Hubungan Aktivitas Fisik, Pengetahuan, dan Pola Konsumsi Minuman Berpemanis dengan Status Gizi Lebih pada Remaja
Remaja merupakan kelompok umur yang rentan mengalami gizi lebih, baik overweight maupun obesitas. Gizi lebih pada remaja perlu mendapatkan perhatian khusus karena dapat berpengaruh terhadap kesehatan tubuh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan aktivitas fisik, pengetahuan, dan pola konsumsi minuman berpemanis dengan status gizi lebih pada remaja di SMP Negeri 1 Kartasura. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian observasional analitik dengan desain cross sectional. Sampel penelitian ini berjumlah 93 siswa yang dipilih secara proportionate stratified random sampling. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen berupa timbangan digital dan microtoise untuk mendapatkan data status gizi, sedangkan kuesioner digunakan untuk mendapatkan data identitas responden dan variabel penelitian. Data aktivitas fisik diperoleh menggunakan kuesioner Global Physical Activity Questionnare (GPAQ), pengetahuan diperoleh dari pengisian kuesioner, sedangkan data pola konsumsi minuman berpemanis diperoleh menggunakan kuesioner Beverages Questionnare (BEVQ). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan aktivitas fisik dengan status gizi lebih pada remaja di SMP Negeri 1 Kartasura (p = 0,0001), namun pengetahuan dan pola konsumsi minuman berpemanis tidak berhubungan dengan status gizi lebih pada remaja di SMP Negeri 1 Kartasura (p = 0,229; 0,669). Siswa dengan aktivitas fisik yang kurang berpotensi 7,568 kali lipat mengalami status gizi lebih. Diharapkan pihak sekolah dapat membuat pembinaan dengan menerapkan pola hidup sehat.
Environmental Conservation Education through Biopore Introduction for Elementary School Students at Sanggar Belajar Kuala Lumpur
As the capital of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur has not escaped various environmental issues that have worsened due to rapid urbanization, ranging from air pollution to insufficient waste management. This condition requires a creative solution to foster awareness of sustainability from a young age. In response, a community service program titled "Education for Environmental Conservation through the Introduction of Biopori for Elementary School Students at the Kuala Lumpur Learning Studio" was present to introduce the concepts and benefits of biopori technology to children aged 6 to 12. Its main goal is to build early awareness of environmentally friendly practices, especially in flood prevention and organic waste management. Methods used in the program vary widely and interactively, including storytelling, exciting visual presentations, educational games, and video demonstrations. The implementation of this program also collaborates with the Kuala Lumpur Indonesian School (SIKL), which ensures the harmony of culture and education with the target students. The results of the program showed a significant improvement in students\u27 understanding and interest in biopore technology. Many of them are enthusiastic about implementing biopore at home, reflecting expected positive behavioral changes. Post-activity feedback from students and facilitators indicated high levels of engagement and enthusiasm. This initiative demonstrates the effectiveness of early environmental education in building eco-conscious habits. It supports the advancement of community-based science education and contributes directly to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in clean water and sanitation (Goal 6) and climate action (Goal 13). The program offers a scalable model for integrating environmental awareness into urban education systems
Eksaminasi pertimbangan hakim terhadap Putusan Tindak Pidana Perdagangan Orang (Studi kasus putusan No. 39/Pid. Sus/2024/PN Wat)
Human trafficking is a form of transnational crime that violates human rights, particularly those of vulnerable groups such as women and children, and continues to increase in Indonesia. According to the Global Slavery Index 2023, Indonesia is estimated to have around 1.8 million victims of human trafficking, making it one of the countries with the highest number of cases in Southeast Asia (Walk Free Foundation, 2023)[1]. Although Indonesia has enacted Law Number 21 of 2007 concerning the Eradication of the Crime of Human Trafficking (UU PTPPO), the practical implementation of victim protection within the judicial system still faces significant challenges. This article aims to provide a juridical analysis of victim protection in Decision No. 39/Pid.Sus/2024/PN.Wat issued by the Wates District Court. The research method used is normative juridical, combined with a case study approach and comparative analysis of victim protection principles in both national and international law. Analysis Of The Conversion Of Agricultural Land To Non Agricultural Land In The Lereng Gunung Lawu Karanganyar Tourism Area (Case Study on Culinary Business)
This research discucces the phenomenon of conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural land in the Lereng Gunung Lawu Tourism Area, Tawangmangu District, Karanganyar Regency. The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors causing land conversion and its impact on agriculture in the area. This research uses a qualitative method with an empirical legal approach, relying on primary data from interviews and observations, and secondary data from literature studies. The results of the research indicate that (1) land conversion is driven by complex interactions of economic, socio-cultural and environmental factors. Economically, the desire of land owners to gain more benefits than farming. Socio-culturally, in the form of changes in lifestyle and low interest of the younger generation to become farmers, and an environment that has geographical potential that supports tourism development. (2) The impact of land conversion because it is not a center for staple food production. However, there is a decrease in land productivity and changes in agricultural commodities to adjust to the demand for the tourism market. Land conversion increases the risk of flooding and erosion due to poor drainage and water absorption. The Position of the Constitutional Court in Strengthening the Democratic System
The Constitutional Court is one of the institutions that had an important role in strengthening the democracy. This institution is not only tasked with testing the law on the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, but also as a guardian of democratic values and constitutionality in various state policies. This study aims to explore more deeply how the Constitutional Court lives its functions in building a healthy, stable, and fair democratic system. In many cases, the Constitutional Court has become the last place for citizens in fighting for their rights that are considered neglected by existing regulations. Some important decisions that have been issued show their alignments on the protection of human rights and social justice, which is a pillar of democracy itself. The Constitutional Court also performed the function as a counterweight in the Trias Politica system, especially in setting the potential for abuse of power from the executive institution and legislative. In this case, the Court is not only reactive to the application, but also shows a proactive attitude in maintaining constitutional values so as not to be violated by the authorities. The methods used in this study are normative research with statutory and conceptual approaches and literature studies. The existence of the Constitutional Court is not just a symbol of law, but also an essential control tool in creating political balance, ensuring people\u27s participation, and maintaining democracy in the midst of challenges that are changing. The Constitutional Court plays a central role in strengthening the constitutional democratic system in Indonesia. In this system, which emphasizes the supremacy of the constitution, the protection of human rights, the separation of power and the organization of democratic elections, the Constitutional Court acts as the guardian of the constitution and balancing of state power
Comparative Analysis of Supreme Court and State Administrative Court Decisions in Land Disputes of Former Building Use Rights Certificates(Case Study of Suroto in Semarang)
Land disputes are a legal problem that often occurs in Indonesia and require legal certainty in their resolution. One example of a case regarding land ownership issues is in Decision Number 2341 K/Pdt/2016 and Number 50/G/2021/PTUN.SMG. The Suroto case is one example of the difference in decisions between the Supreme Court and the State Administrative Court in determining the validity of land title certificates. This difference has an impact on the protection of ownership rights and legal certainty for the community. This study aims to determine and analyze the comparison of the decisions of the Supreme Court and the State Administrative Court in resolving land disputes, especially in the Suroto case. In addition, this study also examines the legal implications of the differences in these decisions on legal certainty in resolving land disputes. The research method used in this study is normative juridical with a qualitative approach. The results of the study show that: (1) The Supreme Court considers the substantive aspect that the legal aspect of ownership must be based on the previously issued document, as long as there is no element of legal defect in the issuance process, while the PTUN in this decision emphasizes the procedural and administrative aspects related to the legality of the KTUN; (2) The impact of the differences in the decisions of the Supreme Court and PTUN is legal uncertainty for the Plaintiff, where the legality of the previously issued certificate is defeated due to the administrative procedures of the KTUN. Therefore, there needs to be clearer synchronization of laws and policies in resolving land disputes between the Supreme Court and PTUN in order to create legal justice for the community.
