    Futsal Shooting Skill Level and Dominant Physical Condition in Extracurricular Activities of State Middle School 1 Batu Sopang, Paser Regency, East Kalimantan

    This study aims to determine the level of futsal shooting skills and dominant physical conditions of extracurricular participants at State Middle School 1 Batu Sopang, Paser Regency, East Kalimantan. The method used is descriptive quantitative with a futsal shooting skills measurement test and a dominant physical condition test of futsal extracurricular participants at State Middle School 1 Batu Sopang, Paser Regency, East Kalimantan. The results of the study showed that most participants had a shooting skill level in the enough category, which was 10 people (80%), and a good category of 2 people (20%). The results of the overall physical condition test were in the enough category (with a conversion value of 6). The conclusion of the results of the study of the level of futsal shooting skills and dominant physical conditions of extracurricular participants at Middle School Negeri 1 Batu Sopang, Paser Regency, East Kalimantan, the average shooting skill level was enough and the results of the physical condition test were in the enough category

    The Level of Smash Skills on Male Athletes of BVC Volleyball Club

    This study aims to obtain data as a basis for evaluating and improving smash technique training of male athletes at the BVC Club in Balangan District to serve as a reference in designing a more focused and athlete-needs-based training program. The method used is quantitative method with total sampling technique on 12 male athletes. The data collection instrument consists of a smash skill test based on the reference by Tantri & Mashud (2023). The results of the study indicate that 41.66% of athletes (5 individuals) are in the very good category, 16.67% (2 individuals) in the good category, 16.67% (2 individuals) in the medium category, and 25% (3 individuals) in the poor category, with no athletes in the very poor category. These findings suggest that some athletes have mastered smash technique well, but there are still a significant number of athletes who require special attention in mastering the technique, particularly in terms of power, attack angle, and shot accuracy. This study recommends the need for regular evaluations and the development of more structured and individually tailored technical training programs to improve overall smash performance.

    The Effect of Slice Service Training on The Accuracy of Tennis Service Hit

    This study aims to evaluate the effect of slice service training on the accuracy of tennis service strokes. Slice service is a technique that produces a lateral spin, creating a curved ball trajectory that is difficult to anticipate and return, especially for intermediate players. Despite its tactical advantages, this technique is rarely given specific attention in tennis training programs. This research employed a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest–posttest approach involving 16 athletes from Caringin Tennis Club aged 18–23 years. The instrument used was the validated Hewitt\u27s Tennis Achievement Test. The results showed a significant increase in service accuracy, with the mean score rising from 17.88 (pretest) to 44.00 (posttest). Paired sample t-test analysis confirmed a statistically significant improvement (p = 0.000). The data met the assumption of normality based on the Shapiro-Wilk test. These findings indicate that structured slice service training effectively improves stroke precision, motor coordination, and confidence during service execution. The study supports the importance of integrating specific technique-based training in tennis coaching, especially during the skill development phase.

    Postural Improvement Through Progressive Strengthening of Serratus Anterior and Rhomboid Muscle in Forward Head Posture Cases

    Forward Head Posture (FHP) is a prevalent musculoskeletal disorder, especially among university students engaged in prolonged sedentary activities. Weakness in scapular stabilizing muscles such as the serratus anterior and rhomboids contributes significantly to postural misalignment and associated pain. This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of progressive strengthening exercises targeting the serratus anterior and rhomboid muscles in improving craniovertebral angle, reducing neck pain, and enhancing functional outcomes in final-year university students with FHP. A quasi-experimental pre-test and post-test design was employed involving 67 final-year students. Participants were divided into an intervention group (n=33) and a control group (n=34). The intervention group underwent a progressive strengthening program 3 sessions per week over 4 weeks, while the control group received no physiotherapy. Outcome measures included craniovertebral angle (CVA), Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) for pain, and the Neck Disability Index (NDI). The intervention group demonstrated a significant improvement in CVA increased from 42.1° ± 2.5° to 49.3° ± 2.8° (p < 0.001), compared to a non-significant change in the control group 42.5° ± 2.3° to 43.1° ± 2.6° (p < 0.001). NRS decreased from 5.6 ± 1.2 to 2.1 ± 0.9 (p = 0.000), and NDI scores dropped from 32.4 ± 4.7 to 15.3 ± 3.9 (p = 0.000). The control group showed no significant changes in any measure. Progressive strengthening of the serratus anterior and rhomboid muscles is effective in correcting forward head posture, alleviating pain, and improving cervical function. These findings support the integration of targeted postural exercises into student wellness and physiotherapy programs.

    The Effect of Handpaddle Aids on Freestyle Sprint Speed Over a Distance of  50 Meters

    This study aims to determine the effect of handpaddle use on 50-meter freestyle sprint speed in female novice athletes from the PRI Aquarius Club Bandung. The background of this study is based on the importance of speed as a primary indicator of swimming performance, where arm muscle strength and stroke technique efficiency are determining factors. Handpaddles were chosen as a training medium because they provide additional resistance that can increase strength while improving stroke technique. The research method used an experiment with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The study sample consisted of 10 athletes selected by purposive sampling and divided into two groups: the experimental group with handpaddle training and the group without handpaddles. The research instrument was a 50-meter freestyle swimming speed test with a digital stopwatch. The results showed that the group training with handpaddles experienced a more significant increase in speed than the group without handpaddles. These findings indicate that handpaddles are effective as a training medium for increasing arm muscle strength, technique efficiency, and maintaining sprint speed until the final phase of the race. This study confirms the novelty of the 50-meter sprint distance focus and the benefits of handpaddles in maintaining performance in the critical phase of the race.

    The Effect of Motivational Self-Talk on Reducing Anxiety in Short-Distance and Middle-Distance Runners

    The aim of this study is to examine the effect of motivational self-talk on the anxiety level of short-distance and middle-distance runners. Anxiety, as experienced by the players, particularly before competitions, can have a negative influence on their performance. Motivational self-talk is a psychological intervention technique used to enhance concentration, build self-confidence, and reduce competitive anxiety. The design of the study utilized in this case was a one-group pretest-posttest quasi-experimental study. The sample consisted of 29 athletes from Sekolah Atletik Pajajaran Bandung, who were short-distance and middle-distance runners. Anxiety was quantified using the Sport Anxiety Scale-2 (SAS-2). Treatment was a motivational self-talk training package that was presented in 12 sessions and included the skills of countering, reframing, and affirming. Paired sample t-test of the data showed that motivational self-talk reduced the anxiety level of short-distance (p < 0.05) and middle-distance runners (p < 0.05). The results of the independent sample t-test showed no significant difference between the two groups (p > 0.05), which meant that motivational self-talk affected both of them equally. The study concludes that motivational self-talk reduces anxiety in short- and middle-distance runners and is recommended to be included in general athlete training programs

    The Effect of Brief Mindfulness Psychoeducation on the Emotional Regulation Ability of Coaching Students

    This study aims to determine the effect of brief mindfulness psychoeducation on the emotional regulation abilities of sports coaching students. The background of this study is based on the importance of emotional regulation in the context of coaching education, where students are required to maintain emotional stability when facing academic pressure and interacting with athletes. This study uses a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest model. The research subjects consisted of 20 sports coaching students at the Indonesia University of Education, selected through purposive sampling. The instrument used was the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ) to measure the aspects of cognitive reappraisal and expressive suppression. The intervention in the form of brief mindfulness psychoeducation was carried out over six sessions in three weeks, with material covering conscious breathing, light meditation, and awareness in daily activities. Data analysis used a paired sample t-test. The results showed a significant increase in cognitive reappraisal (p < 0.05) and a significant decrease in expressive suppression (p < 0.05). Thus, brief mindfulness psychoeducation proved effective in improving the emotional regulation of physical education students, particularly in their ability to reinterpret emotional situations and reduce the tendency to suppress emotional expression. This study provides practical recommendations for educational institutions to integrate mindfulness psychoeducation programs as part of the emotional competency development of student trainers

    Correlation of Quadriceps Angular Biomechanics to Anxiety in Amateur Women Football Athletes : Injury Risk Analysis

    Injury prevention in female football athletes requires a multidimensional approach that integrates both biomechanical and psychological assessments. This research aims to examine the relationship between the quadriceps angle (Q-angle) and competitive anxiety in amateur female football players, with a focus on understanding the impact of Q-angle as an injury risk factor on anxiety levels. The importance of this study stems from the global rise of female participation in football, which is accompanied by a high incidence of lower extremity injuries, particularly among adolescents—a group that is physically and emotionally vulnerable. A total of eleven female athletes aged 14–21 years participated in the study. Q-angle measurements were conducted using image-based digital goniometry (KINOVEA®), whereas the Sport Anxiety Scale-2 (SAS-2) was utilized to assess levels of anxiety both before and after match participation. The findings revealed a non-significant decrease in anxiety scores following match play (from 35.23 ± 7.21 to 32.28 ± 8.49; p = 0.076), which may suggest a reduction in anticipatory stress after real-game involvement. Q-angle values varied widely from 9.5° to 29°, with several athletes exhibiting angles outside the normative female range of 15°–20°, indicating a possible increased risk for lower-extremity injuries. Even though a meaningful association was not established between the Q-angle measurements and anxiety levels, the occurrence of extreme readings in both areas among specific individuals suggests a potentially compounded injury risk that should be further investigatedIn spite of constraints such as a limited number of participants and the use of a cross-sectional study design, this research underscores the practical utility of low-cost, field-friendly tools for early detection of biomechanical and psychological injury risk factors. The results support the integration of dual-domain screening into injury prevention programs for adolescent female football players.

    Identification of Barriers in Performing Physical Activities in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

    This study aims to identify and compare physical activity barriers in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and children with non-ASD disabilities based on parental perceptions. Using a comparative quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach, the research involved 56 respondents, consisting of 29 children with ASD and 27 children with non-ASD disabilities aged 6–17 years, with a gender distribution of 33 males and 23 females. The instrument used was the Barriers to Being Active Quiz (CDC, 1999), and data analysis was conducted using the Independent Sample T-Test with α = 0.05. Results showed significant differences in four categories of barriers: social influence (p = .000), lack of energy (p = .003), lack of willpower (p = .000), and lack of injury (p = .000). Children with ASD were more hindered by internal factors such as low motivation and self-regulation difficulties. Conversely, children with non-ASD disabilities were more affected by physical and environmental barriers, including fear of injury, fatigue, and lack of social support. No significant differences were found in three other categories: lack of time, lack of skill, and lack of resources. These findings emphasize the need for physical activity interventions tailored to the characteristics of each group of children with special needs

    Language Variation in TikTok Social Media Platform Advertising Discourse: Its Use as Indonesian Language Teaching Material for Class VIII

    The use of Indonesian in the advertising discourse of the TikTok social media platform is adjusted to the language speakers. This study examines 1) the form of language, 2) the purpose of advertising discourse and 3) its use as open material for Indonesian. This method uses a qualitative research method with a descriptive design, because the data used is in the form of oral discourse. The object of this study is language variation in advertising discourse. The data collection technique uses the listening technique, the researcher listens to the advertising discourse on the TikTok social media platform and then notes each oral discourse that contains language variation. The data analysis technique uses the referential matching method. The data validation technique uses data triangulation. The results of the study show that the form of language and the purpose of the advertisement discourse are: 1) Indonesian and Javanese, 2) Indonesian and Balinese, 3) Indonesian and English, 4) Indonesian and Korean, 5) Indonesian and Japanese, 6) Indonesian and Italian, 7) Indonesian and Javanese and English, 8) Indonesian and Minang and Korean, 9) Indonesian and Japanese and English, 10) Indonesian and French and Italian and English and Japanese, and the purpose of the advertisement discourse is: 1) attracting attention, 2) attracting interest, 3) changing actions
