Long-Term Rugby Player Development: Strategies & Complications: A Review

    No full text
Long-term player development in rugby is a complex process that involves physical, technical, tactical, and mental growth. This progression follows structured models like the Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) framework. Key factors for maximizing a player’s potential over time include learning basic movement skills at a young age, age- appropriate sport-specific training, structured training phases, and strength and conditioning programs tailored to different playing positions. Starting with multiple sports rather than specializing too early helps players develop a strong foundation of motor skills while reducing injury risks. This well-rounded approach benefits both their physical and mental development, leading to better long-term performance. However, implementing LTAD effectively in rugby comes with several challenges. Early specialization increases the risk of burnout and injuries, especially since young athletes’ bodies are still growing.   To understand these challenges, a systematic review was conducted using various online databases. Out of 30 relevant sources, 25 were journal articles, one was a book, two were federation modules, and two were grey literature sources. Given rugby’s high-contact nature, injuries are common. Programs like World Rugby’s Activate initiative are strongly recommended to help reduce the occurrence of concussions, ligament injuries, sprains, and muscle strains. Another major challenge is player retention, particularly during transitions from youth to senior levels. Many young players drop out due to unrealistic expectations, increased pressure, and a lack of proper support. Socio-economic and geographical barriers also play a significant role. Players from underprivileged backgrounds often have limited access to quality coaching and training facilities. To address these issues, rugby needs more inclusive pathways, fair distribution of resources, and innovative solutions like wearable technology to monitor player workload and optimize training. This review highlights the importance of personalized development plans, ongoing injury prevention strategies, and increased access to rugby opportunities. Future research should focus on refining LTAD models, creating standardized evaluation tools, and developing adaptable, evidence-based training programs to ensure sustainable and equitable player development

    No full text
Coastal communities in Eastern Indonesia, particularly in the 3T (frontier, outermost, disadvantaged) regions, face complex challenges in managing abundant marine resources despite their cultural richness and ecological potential. This study was conducted in Waiheru Village, Ambon, which represents a coastal community where traditional maritime folklore remains a living heritage yet has not been optimally integrated into food security strategies. The research aimed to explore the level of maritime literacy and the utilization of seaweed for household food resilience by mapping the potentials and problems faced by women and youth as primary community actors. A qualitative field survey was carried out involving 60 respondents consisting of housewives and village youth, using open-ended questionnaires, semi-structured interviews, and direct observation. Thematic analysis revealed that folklore, such as the Nenek Luhu legend, can serve as an effective medium for strengthening ecological awareness and maritime identity. Findings indicated that housewives are central in basic seaweed processing for household consumption, but their skills remain limited to low-value products, while youth show strong interest in digital-based promotion despite constraints in technical capacity and internet access. This research contributes to science by offering an integrative model that links culture, ecology, and community-based economy as a foundation for sustainable coastal development

The Impact of the Implementation of Job Loss Guarantee in Law Number 6 of 2023 on Social Protection and Welfare of Workers Affected by Termination of Employment

    No full text
Termination of employment (PHK) is an event that has significant impacts on the welfare of workers, both economically, socially, and psychologically. In response to this challenge, the Indonesian government introduced the Job Loss Insurance (JKP) program through Law Number 6 of 2023 as a new social protection scheme for workers affected by termination. This study employs a normative legal method with statutory and conceptual approaches to analyze the effectiveness of JKP in providing post-termination protection. The results show that the JKP scheme offers more comprehensive protection compared to the previous provisions in Law Number 13 of 2003. In addition to financial benefits in the form of cash assistance for up to six months, JKP also provides access to job training and employment placement services. This program not only helps workers survive the transitional period but also enhances their employment opportunities and competitiveness in the labor market. The scheme is managed by the Workers Social Security Agency (BPJS Ketenagakerjaan) with funding support derived from the redistribution of contributions from the Work Accident Insurance (JKK) and Death Insurance (JKM) programs, along with subsidies from the state budget (APBN). The implementation of JKP encourages active participation from both workers and employers in the social security system, strengthens labor formalization, and improves corporate accountability. With its proactive and sustainable approach, JKP has the potential to become a strategic instrument in the reform of national labor protection and to reinforce the role of the state in realizing social welfare for all Indonesian workers

Sociolegal Analysis of the Rawa Pening Agrarian Conflict as an Effort to Legally Protect Land Rights

    No full text
Land is a fundamental asset that plays a vital role in supporting community welfare and livelihoods. In the Rawa Pening area, a significant agrarian conflict has arisen due to a lake revitalization project initiated by the government, involving the National Land Agency (BPN), the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), and the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR). The project, aimed at flood and sediment control, has led to the displacement of farmers and fishermen, disrupting agricultural lands and residential areas. Despite possessing legal land certificates, residents claim that boundary markers placed for the project have encroached upon their property, indicating a lack of adequate legal protection. This study aims to analyze the legality of land acquisition procedures and their alignment with existing regulations. The research employs a normative and empirical juridical approach, combining legal document analysis and field interviews. The findings reveal that land acquisition was carried out with minimal community involvement, potentially violating procedural requirements and leading to legal uncertainty and possible human rights violations. The study identifies the need for a fair and transparent land acquisition process that respects property rights and provides legal certainty for affected communities. It concludes that stronger enforcement of agrarian laws and community participation are essential to resolving land conflicts and ensuring equitable development outcomes

The Essence of the Open Proportional System in the 2024 General Election in Central Java (Perspective of Law Number 7 of 2017)

    No full text
One of the main instruments for implementing democracy in Indonesia is the General Election (Pemilu), which serves to elect the President, the House of Representatives (DPR), the Regional Representative Council (DPD), and the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD). To elect members of the DPR, DPD, and DPRD, Indonesia adopts an open-list proportional representation system where candidates are elected based on the highest number of votes. This system offers significant advantages by ensuring more accurate political representation and proportional seat distribution, thereby valuing each vote. This article focuses on critically examining the application of the open-list proportional system in the 2024 DPRD election in Central Java. The research method used is a socio-legal approach with qualitative analysis, emphasizing the implementation of open proportionality in the second-level DPRD elections in Central Java. The findings reveal legal uncertainty in the Election Law, particularly in Article 426, which contains structural loopholes that undermine the core principles of open proportional representation and potentially harm the essence of democracy itself. This issue was evident in the 2024 DPRD election in Central Java, where manipulation of the people\u27s choice through resignation or dismissal from party membership, along with formalistic judicial decisions, created a legal gap that was exploited to disregard legitimate votes. This not only invalidates the legitimacy of individual representatives but also raises serious questions about who truly holds sovereignty in determining the composition of the legislature

    No full text
Corruption has become a deeply rooted problem in Indonesia\u27s governance system and society. Various efforts to eradicate corruption through legal and institutional approaches have not shown maximum results. This research aims to analyze corruption prevention strategies through strengthening character education as a more effective and sustainable alternative solution. Through a qualitative approach with literature study, this research examines the role of character education in forming generations with integrity and anti-corruption character. The results show that character education integrated into formal and non-formal educational curricula can be a strong foundation in preventing corrupt behavior from an early age. Strategies that can be applied include integrating anti-corruption values into the curriculum, strengthening the role of higher education, forming the character of generation Z, and implementing moral education as a preventive strategy. This research concludes that character education is a long-term investment capable of creating a clean and transparent culture in national and state life

Legal Protection for Victims of Photo Abuse through Artificial Intelligence Technology in Pornography Crimes in Indonesia

    No full text
The development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology has given birth to a new form of crime in the form of deepfake pornography, which is the production of sexual content that is digitally manipulated without the consent of the subject. This article discusses legal protection for victims of deepfake pornography in Indonesia through normative juridical approaches and case studies, particularly by highlighting the case of Udayana University students who produced deepfake content against dozens of female students. The results of the study show that Indonesia\u27s positive law—through the Pornography Law, the ITE Law, and the TPKS Law—has not specifically regulated the crime of producing AI-engineered content, so law enforcement officials often have difficulty in ensnaring perpetrators optimally. In addition, technical constraints, weak digital forensic capacity, social stigma, and low digital literacy worsen the position of victims. This article recommends a reformulation of regulations that include explicit definitions of deepfake content, strengthening impact-based criminal sanctions, restitution for victims, national digital education, and the establishment of international cooperation through the ratification of the Budapest Convention. With a comprehensive legal approach and oriented towards victim protection, it is hoped that the Indonesian legal system will be able to answer the challenges of digital crime in the era of artificial intelligence

The Position of The Validity of Digital Signatures in Internet Sales Transactions: Perspectives of the Civil Code and the Consumer Protection Law

    No full text
It is known that in general the process of buying and selling transactions requires a physical meeting between the seller and the buyer, as per Article 1457 of the Civil Code. In the context of modern trade, buying and selling can be done face-to-face, without using original signatures and without territorial boundaries by utilizing information technology. Digital signature emerges as a concept that replaces the word “agree” in electronic transactions. Similar to analog signatures, digital signatures also serve to legitimize existing documents. However, currently there is still much debate regarding the recognition, legal force and legal consequences of electronic signatures, especially when disputes arise between the parties involved. The purpose is to determine and analyze the position of the validity of digital signatures in internet sales transactions: the perspective of the Civil Code and the Consumer Protection Law as well as the position of the parties in the internet Sales and Purchase Agreement. This research uses a normative juridical legal research approach. The approach used is legislation (state approach). In this legal research, analytical descriptive specifications are used. The method used is a literature study (Library Research) and qualitative data analysis using primary, secondary and tertiary legal materials which are interpreted in depth. The resume and discussion is that digital signatures are a very appropriate technique used to guarantee the authenticity of documents and avoid the possibility of someone leaking documents. This technique is much more sophisticated and more efficient than manual signatures. Information technology security is then regulated by law by not being an obstacle to technological development, but rather as a counterweight that provides security guarantees to its users. The law is here to provide protection for information technology
