The status of the Arab elites in the process of producing social and political values

    Get PDF
This article tries to take a look at the role of the elite in the Arab region, where it shows the fragility of its role, especially since these elites are not marginalized or polarized, or prefer neutrality and live on the margins of social, political and cultural change. It appears that the recoil and lack of elite function are not the result of current circumstances, but rather the result of a historical accumulation in the paths of state-building as well as the intersection of a number of social and cultural causes.Even if these elites differed in some details, they intersect at the level of the Arab scene, being closed to themselves and in a near rupture with their societie

In order to achieve our aim, we have adopted the nominations of mathematics teachers for their gifted and normal pupils, Raven’s Progressive Matrices Test, and problem-solving test in mathematics, after analyzing the data statistically, the outcomes showed: The level of solving problems in mathematics for the third-year pupils was low. There were no statistically significant differences in problem solving due to the gender. There were statistically significant differences in problem solving in mathematics due to the pupils' classification (gifted /normal). The interaction of pupils' classification (gifted /normal) and gender did not affect problem solving in mathematic

Prospective Modeling of the Tourism Sector Dynamics in Algeria A Quantitative Approach Using Internal Interpolation Models

    Get PDF
This study aims to highlight the developments in the economic contribution of the tourism sector to the Algerian economy during the period 1995–2022. It also seeks to build an econometric model to forecast future trends for the period 2023–2027, using a time series approach represented by interpolation models. The study provides a statistical treatment of the available data in order to understand the growth and development patterns of the sector. The results of the economic and econometric analysis reveal a trend marked by slight fluctuations, with an overall outlook indicating a gradual increase in the activity of the tourism sector in Algeria. A noticeable improvement is observed in the economic contribution rate of the tourism sector. However, this improvement has not yet reached the level required to achieve the desired goals, as it remains relatively weak. According to current data and projections, the contribution is not expected to exceed 12% by 2027, indicating a shortfall in government performance in advancing tourism development. This sector is considered a key gateway to economic diversification and has the potential to become a leading driver of local economic integration. Based on these findings, the study recommends the need to explore effective mechanisms to further enhance the tourism sector within the broader economic policy framework, and to activate its role as a source of real economic interconnection. This would contribute to building a sectorally integrated economy in Algeria

Ependymomas are malignant glial tumors of the central nervous system. Although they are recognizedin all age groups, they are more frequent in children, accounting for between 5 and 10% of all pediatric intracranialtumors. Due to its aggressive nature and fairly frequent occurrence in the pediatric population, our study wasconducted to specify the epidemiological, clinical, and paraclinical profile as well as to evaluate the therapeuticmeans and results and the follow-up in 24 children collected in the neurosurgery department, CHU IBN ROCHDover 12 years (from January 2012 to December 2023). The age of our patients ranged from 1.5 to 17 years, with amean age of 8.29 years, of which 10 were girls and 14 were boys. Headaches associated with nausea and vomitingwere the most frequent symptoms. Time to consultation ranged from 1 to 7 months, with an average of 4 months.Radiologically, an MRI was performed on all patients with infratentorial localization (FCP). The most frequenthistological type was WHO grade III ependymoma. Surgery, and more specifically, complete excision, is thecornerstone of ependymoma treatment. In our series, 13 children underwent adjuvant external radiotherapy, with a14-week mean time between surgery and radiotherapy. 54.16% of the children in our series receivedchemotherapy. In terms of evolution, we have 50% of our patients alive, 56.33% in complete remission after 3years, 16.66% deceased, and 25% lost to follow-up. Childhood ependymoma is a pathology in the throes ofchange. The new anatomomolecular classification opens up unprecedented prospects for a detailed understandingof therapeutic strategy. The mainstay of treatment is complete surgery, and the role of radiotherapy remainsessential in childrenLes épendymomes sont des tumeurs gliales malignes du système nerveux central.
