Hemangioblastomas are benign vascular tumors of the central nervous system that can occursporadically or as part of Von Hippel Lindau disease (VHL). The study of the 21 cases ofhemangioblastomas collected in the Neurosurgery Department of CHU IBN ROCHD Annaba involvesa pure infratentorial involvement. No localization in the rest of the neuraxis or visceral has beendetected. All the patients had a sporadic hemangioblastoma. The clinical picture is dominated by thesyndrome of increased intracranial pressure (ICP) and the cerebellar syndrome, and in all cases, it wasthe increased ICP that was the initial revelation. MRI and CT are the two preferred paraclinicalmethods: MRI is more sensitive in revealing the presence of the tumor, its characteristics (location, size, volume, exact number...) and the localization of the cystic portion of the tumor, its relationshipwith the mural nodule as well as its repercussions on the ventricular cavities. The diagnosis ofinfratentorial hemangioblastoma has a poor prognosis due to postoperative mortality, the risk ofrecurrence, and multiple locations. The treatment consists of as complete a tumor removal as possible, and the diversion of associated hydrocephalus can be discussed in certain cases. Post-operativemonitoring is carried out using MRI, which can detect a recurrence by revealing a cyst or ventriculardilation.

Large Format On The Debacle of Scientific Ideas and Mentalities

Can a true scientist today, with impunity, simply abandon himself to the fascinating game of human passions that transgress the most established ethical and deontological rules? Can he still, without reacting, allow himself to be considered as “the idiot of the global village” at a time of the dizzying debacle of ideas, opinions and morals? A loss of balance, passion risks compromising scientific discourse by devaluing thought caught in the implacable vice of contemporary individual and collective logic. To engage young people in the career guidance process, National Education Psychologists (PsyEN) in France, within Information and Guidance Centers (CIO) and schools, work with positioning tests. In Lebanon, these interest questionnaires are not sufficiently utilized due to a lack of training in career guidance, leaving young people dependent on their environment. This article explores interest tests and questionnaires, associa-ted with project-based approaches and identity exploration, which are key tools used by career guidance professionals. From an international pers-pective, we examine their design and relevance: How are these question-naires conceived?

Rethinking the Future from Africa Challenges and Specificities of Africanfuturism

    No full text
This study examines Africanfuturisme, a contemporary literature and artistic movement born in 2019, centered on the cultural, historical, and political realities of the African continent. Born out of a desire to distinguish itself from Afrofuturism – a movement born in the African-American diaspora and based on the reinvention of Black history through science fiction and speculative narratives – Africanfuturisme aims to refocus imaginaries of the future on Africa itself. Drawing on a comparative analysis of the two notions, this research aims to highlight the narrative, aesthetic, and epistemological specificities of Africanfuturism, as well as the decolonial issues that permeate it. The objective is to show how this movement paves the way for an imaginary sovereignty and a situated production of knowledge, running counter to dominant Western paradigmsCette étude se propose d’examiner l’Africanfuturisme, courant littéraire et artistique contemporain (né en 2019), centré sur les réalités culturelles, historiques et politiques du continent africain.

When Literature Becomes the Custodian of Consciousness For an Ecology of African Thought

    No full text
This article offers a reflection on the role of African literature as a vehicle of memory, a space for consciousness, and a tool for identity reconstruction in a postcolonial and postmodern context. It highlights how African writers, by reconnecting with ancestral African oral traditions, use writing as a means to rehabilitate the continent’s history often erased or distorted and to awaken a historical and cultural awareness among younger generations. Literature thus becomes both a guardian of memory and a guardian of imagination, contributing to a cultural ecology that preserves, regenerates, and transmits a decolonized vision of Africa. Through an analysis of contemporary literary production, the article explores new forms of narrative expression adopted by a generation of writers engaged in a fragmented aesthetic, marked by heterolingualism, ideological subversion, and the questioning of Africa’s multiple and complex identities. Writing then becomes a space of resistance, creative solitude, and utopian projection, contributing to the emergence of a new African humanism rooted in memory, yet resolutely open to the universal.

Dialectic of Diasporic Representations in Fatou Diome’s Le Ventre de l’Atlantique From Migratory Oneirism to Ontological Disenchantment

    No full text
This study analyzes the dialectic of diasporic representations in Le Ventre de l’Atlantique by Fatou Diome, a major work of contemporary French-speaking African literature. The analysis highlights the articulation between migratory oneirism and the ontological disenchantment that structures the novel. Employing an interpretive analytical framework, this investigation delves into the author’s methodical dismantling of migratory mythologies while simultaneously crafting a profound meditation on contemporary diasporic existence. The work illuminates the intricate psychological processes through which spatial idealization takes root and endures within Senegalese social consciousness, while simultaneously laying bare the existential rupture that migrants endure upon confronting reality. Through the narrative voice of Salie, the text presents a perspicacious diasporic sensibility that navigates the delicate equilibrium between unveiling difficult truths and sustaining the collective aspirations of a community invested in dreams of elsewhere. The work thus transcends the simple opposition between mythification and demystification to propose a new approach to the migratory experience, articulating a complex dialectic of representations which reveals the multiple facets of migrant identityCette étude examine les mécanismes de (dé)construction des imaginaires diasporiques au sein de l’œuvre maîtresse de Fatou Diome, Le Ventre de l’Atlantique, texte fondateur qui s’impose comme une contribution majeure aux lettres africaines d’expression française.

Africanity Between Cultural Particularisms and Western Assimilation in Chinua Achebe’s Things Fall Apart

    No full text
Rich with its multitude of voices and diverse cultural traditions, is situated within a context marked by deep identity tensions and relentless struggles for recognition. Born from the complex interaction between precolonial legacies, the traumas of colonization, and the challenges of independence, this literature sharply reflects questions about the identity fractures induced by centuries of foreign domination. These questions are ours to explore here. We will undertake to examine the discursive modalities in Things Fall Apart , Chinua Achebe’s ethnographic work, to see how the African narrative, viewed through the colonial lens as a space of “tensions” of existential, political, and cultural kinds, manages to articulate both internal and external conflicts of oppressed communities while contributing to the construction of an affirmed and globally recognized identity.

From Legend to Literature Reinvention and Translation of African Myths in Contemporary Society

    No full text
This article explores the profound connection between African myths and contemporary literature, focusing on the reinvention and translation of these narratives within modern societal contexts. African myths serve as invaluable cultural heritage, conveying essential values, norms, and identities that shape community spirituality and morality. In an era marked by globalization and cultural homogenization, the reinterpretation of these myths in literature becomes crucial for preserving cultural legacies and addressing current sociopolitical challenges. The study aims to analyze how prominent authors, such as hmadou Kourouma, Aminata Sow Fall, Camara Laye, and Peter Abrahams, integrate and reinterpret traditional myths in their works. By examining their narratives, the article highlights the enduring relevance of African myths in enriching contemporary discourse on identity, memory, and resistance. Methodologically, this study employs a qualitative analysis of literary works, supplemented by theoretical frameworks on myth, particularly the myth theory based on the reflections of Claude Lévi-Strauss. The findings underscore the significance of African myths not only as artistic expressions but also as vital tools for cultural continuity and critical reflection in today’s world. This study ultimately emphasizes the need to value and preserve these legends as integral components of African identity in modern literature.
