Bibliotekarze na rynku pracy – omówienie badań ankietowych
Get PDFIn spring 2009, a series of anonymous questionnaire surveys were carried out among Polish librarians and students of library science. The aim of the survey was to find out the current state of general attitudes towards the profession of the librarian, its position on the labour market and the expectations of the group of professional workers concerning the patterns of work remuneration. The survey included a group of over 1,000 people of different age from almost all regions of Poland. A great number of answers to the half-open questions made it possible to better understand the feelings and intentions of the respondents.Wiosną 2009 roku przeprowadzono anonimowe badania ankietowe wśród polskich bibliotekarzy i studentów bibliotekoznawstwa. Celem badań było poznanie opinii na temat zawodu bibliotekarza, jego miejsca na rynku pracy i oczekiwań pracowników i przyszłych bibliotekarzy związanych z wynagrodzeniem za pracę. W badaniach uczestniczyło ponad 1000 osób, w różnym wieku, ze wszystkich niemalże regionów Polski. Duża liczba odpowiedzi na pytania półotwarte umożliwiła dokładniejsze zrozumienie odczuć i intencji respondentów

Get PDFOne of the largest postcard collection in Poland, housed in Poznań University Library iconographic collection, includes a set of nearly a hundred postcards written by just one person, Wera V., a German clerk working for the German administration of the occupied region in Poznań, in the Agricultural Workers’ Association (Landesbauernschaft Wartheland), and sent to the same recipient – her mother in Hamburg in the years 1941-1944. Initially, the new town , Poznań, turned out for the woman to be fairly attractive and a peaceful working place as compared to frequently bombed Hamburg, with such advantages as a tax-free salary, or certain commodities that were rationed in the Reich here obtainable for the German state service office workers without coupons, and just three air raids. However, in the course of the war, the living and working conditions for the Germans began to deteriorate considerably. Wera’s choice of law with which to comply, most likely the fear of the Nazi censorship regulations and, plainly, her self-censorship, made her not reveal her true feelings towards the National Socialism. However, her attitude towards the Poles can hardly be called hostile. Wera V. spent her free time mostly on writing letters, searching for commodities hard to obtain back in the Reich, and sending home parcels with trophies, dirty linen and clothes to be redone. She hardly ever went to the cinema, a cafe, the theatre or the opera – the reason being, more often than not, the cold she found hard to endure. She wrote much about weather, much less about her work. It was only from August 1944, when chaos started to prevail, that she started to write about the changes going on in her office and about shutting down of non-Poznań-based departments. The picture postcards written by Wera V. complemented the letters written to her mother. A closer inspection to Wera’s epistolary output could make it possible to reconstruct her everyday life in Poznań more fully.W jednej z największych w Polsce kolekcji pocztówek, znajdującej się w ikonograficznych zbiorach Biblioteki Uniwersyteckiej w Poznaniu, znalazło się prawie sto kartek od jednego nadawcy, Wery V. – niemieckiej urzędniczki Stowarzyszenia Rolników Kraju Warty (Landesbauernschaft Wartheland), do tego samego odbiorcy – jej matki zamieszkałej w Hamburgu, wysyłanych z Poznania w latach 1941-1944. Początkowo Poznań był dość atrakcyjnym i spokojnym miejscem pracy w porównaniu z często bombardowanym Hamburgiem – pensja bez podatku, niektóre artykuły reglamentowane w Rzeszy tu bez kartek dla urzędników niemieckich, trzy naloty alianckie. W miarę upływu wojny pogarszały się warunki życia i pracy Wery. Prawdopodobnie obawa przed cenzurą i autocenzurą sprawiły, że nie ujawniła swego stosunku do narodowego socjalizmu. Jej postawę wobec Polaków trudno uznać za wrogą. Czas wolny przeznaczała przede wszystkim na korespondencję, poszukiwanie artykułów trudnych do zdobycia w głębi Rzeszy, wysyłanie paczek ze zdobyczami lub praniem czy ubraniami do przerobienia. Rzadko bywała w kinie, kawiarni, teatrze i operze – jeśli tak, to często z powodu zimna. Dużo pisała o pogodzie, niewiele o swej pracy. Dopiero od sierpnia 1944 roku, kiedy zapanował chaos, informowała o zmianach w jej biurze i o zamykaniu oddziałów zamiejscowych.Pisane przez nią widokówki były uzupełnieniem listów do matki. Lektura całej ko-respondencji pozwoliłaby na pełniejsze odtworzenie życia codziennego Wery V.w Poznaniu

Get PDFThe article is concerned to outline the present state o f retrospective apiculture bibliography. Bibliography in this held has not been worked out consistently and uniformly so far and still remains very patchy. The basis for the bibliography is formed by the listings made by Tadeusz Grochowski, Antoni Jakubski and Wacław Kranowski, partly complementing one another. The initiatives o f creating a comprehensive bibliography that have been taken to date were not successful. Undoubtedly, one of the reasons behind those failures is the very wide t hematic scope that has to be included. The tradition of Polish apiculture has created it own bibliographical canon. According to this canon regarding publications, basically books and periodicals published in the Polish language are only entered in bibliographies. The range of the bibliography covers thus a limited area of interest and results in its constraints and drawbacks. The article discusses the beginnings of the periodical press covering problems of apiculture and points out at the fact that there is no full and comprehensive listing of titles published in the areas historically or ethnically related to or associated with Poland. The article also recalls apicultura] periodicals that have been published locally in the Wielkopolska region. Apart from the need for compiling a full and comprehensive bibliography of publications and more important texts from periodicals as well as a complete listing o f periodicals, the absence of the subject bibliography of The Rev. Dr. Jan Dzierżoń is additionally mentioned in the article. The author proposes working out separate apicultural bibliographies covering material produced in Silesia, Western Pomerania and parts of Eastern Prussia. A modern bibliography that would record the entire output of broadly-understood Polish apicultural literature in line with current research standards still needs to be worked out.The article is concerned to outline the present state o f retrospective apiculture bibliography. Zespołowa organizacja pracy (teamwork) w niemieckich bibliotekach uniwersyteckich
Get PDFThe article discusses the method of team organization of work (teamwork) employed in German university and academic libraries. The starting point for the discussion is the description of the shortcomings of the ubiquitous functional organizational model used in academic libraries. This model features numerous flaws, particularly noticeable in the decision making process carried out at the hierarchical level. The solution enabling elimination or, at least limiting the adverse shortcomings hampering the development of any library, can be the concept of work organization o f teamwork. This method aligns employee mindsets towards a specific business purpose (goals and tasks to be fulfilled) and employs abilities and skills of individual members of teams to a higher degree than before. The teamwork concept, originated in big industry, has now ceased to be just a theory in libraries. It has been used successfully in German university, academic and public libraries. With the example of three university libraries - the Konstanz University Library, Munich University of Technology Library and Dortmund University Library, the author presents the main features of the new organizational model and the stages of its implementation in the said libraries. In a word, teamwork means a change in the organizational structure of a library, cuts in the middle managerial staff, introduces a completely different management system and, additionally, a change in the mentality of the staff.
