Das Ganze der Natur - Alexander von Humboldt und das romantische Forschungsprogramm
Full text linkZusammenfassungDie Beziehungen Humboldts zur Romantik werden in der Literatur unterschiedlich gedeutet. Betrachtet man jedoch das grundlegende Ziel von Humboldts Wissenschaft, das Ganze der Natur möglichst adäquat zu erfassen, dann wird deutlich, wie sich Humboldts Programm in Anknüpfung und in Abstoßung vom romantischen Leitbild entwickelt hat. Im Beitrag wird Humboldts Wissenschaft von der Ganzheit der Natur in ihren Grundzügen dargestellt, wobei vor allem die Verhältnisse von Naturwissenschaft, Naturphilosophie, Naturgefühl, Geschichte und Kunst näher analysiert werden.
AbstractIt does not seem to be clear whether there is a tight junction between the humboldian science and the romantic research program. But by recognizing the principal aim of Humboldts concept – the representation of nature as a whole – one can see how Humboldts view has been developed in contact with romantic ideas. This investigation analyses Humboldts research program in consideration of its main features and the special relations between science, philosophy of nature, feeling of nature, history and art.
ResumenLa concepción de la ciencia de A. von Humboldt, en la que se pretende comprender la naturaleza en su totalidad, manifiesta la íntima relación que Humboldt mantuvo con ciertas ideas del Romanticismo, que en parte asume y en parte modifica.
