A Scoping Review of Factor-Related Cognitive Impairment in Interstitial Lung Disease
論文(Article)Understanding the risk factors for cognitive impairment in interstitial lung disease (ILD) can help guide disease management tailored to cognitive function. However, no review articles or randomized controlled trial articles have been found for cognitive impairment in ILD. This scoping review aimed to systematically map studies on factor-related cognitive impairment in ILD and organize current knowledge. Literature on cognitive impairment in ILD was retrieved from PubMed, Scopus, and EBSCO and manually searched using Google. Three researchers screened the relevant literature. Six studies were extracted: four were casecontrol studies; one was a cross-sectional study; and one was a prospective cohort study. The extracted literature lacked studies with a high level of evidence and only reported factor-related cognitive impairment in ILD, not risk factors. Factors related to cognitive impairment were carbon monoxide pulmonary diffusing capacity, FEV1/FVC, hospitalization for lung transplantation, delirium during hospitalization, apneahypopnea index and Epworth sleepiness scale scores, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, abnormal pulmonary artery pressure, hypoxemia, post-exercise arterial blood oxygen partial pressure and heart rate, and sixminute walk test results. This scoping review presents the current knowledge on the risk factors for cognitive dysfunction in ILD. The extracted literature did not include reports on the risk factors for cognitive impairment in ILD and was limited to reports on related factors. Building evidence on this topic is desirable for understanding the risk factors for cognitive impairment in patients with ILD.journal articl
Sleep duration has a limited impact on the prevalence of menstrual irregularities in athletes: a cross-sectional study
論文(Article)Background: This study aimed to investigate the relationship between the prevalence of menstrual irregularities, energy intake, and sleep deprivation among female athletes.
Methods: A total of 128 female athletes, with an average age of 19.2 ± 1.2 years, participated in the study and tracked their food intake over a three-day period. Menstrual status and sleep duration were assessed using a questionnaire, and psychological anxiety was evaluated using the State and Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI). These were measured once during the investigation. The impact of sleep status on state anxiety and daily energy intake was examined using the T-test. A generalized linear model (GLM) with a log link function was employed to investigate the effects of sleep deprivation on the presence of menstrual irregularities.
Results: As the results of the present study, sleep deprivation significant increased both state and trait anxiety (p 0.05), state anxiety emerged as a significant factor impacting the prevalence of menstrual irregularities (p < 0.05).
Conclusions: The results of the present study suggest a potential pathway wherein sleep deprivation might elevate state anxiety levels, consequently indirectly contributing to an increase the probability of menstrual irregularities. In conclusion, the results of the presents study provide novels insights suggesting that sleep deprivation might directly increase state anxiety and indirectly affect the prevalence of menstrual irregularities. Hence, decreased sleep duration might be related to mental health issues and the prevalence of menstrual irregularities both significant concerns among female athletes. Future studies will play a crucial role in further elucidating how sleep patterns impact the health and well-being of female athletes.journal articl
The research of the attitudes of young baseball players when joining and leaving the team
論文(Article)The environment for youth sports is changing, including a decline in the number of players. The aim of this study was to obtain the knowledge necessary for baseball coaching.
We conducted a questionnaire survey on pupils and students who joined or left a baseball team to investigate their attitudes as baseball players when they joined or left the team. The number of respondents to the questionnaire related to joining the team was 4,521 in total, including 614 elementary school pupils, 2,424 junior high school students, and 1,483 senior high school students. The number of respondents to the related to leaving the team was 4767 in total, including 739 elementary school pupils, 2645 junior high school students, and 1383 senior high school students. The total number of people joining and leaving was 9288.
The survey results: 1. The player’s motivation for joining the club was not only because he/she loves baseball, but also because of the influence of his/her friends and other people around the player. 2. It became clear that both at the time of joining the club and at the time of leaving it, there were concerns and worries about balancing baseball with studies.journal articl
Alteration of serotonin release response in the central nucleus of the amygdala to noxious and non-noxious mechanical stimulation in a neuropathic pain model rat
論文(Article)Previously, we found that serotonin (5-HT) release in the central nucleus of the amygdala (CeA) of anesthetized rats decreases in response to innocuous stroking of the skin, irrespective of stimulus laterality, but increases in response to noxious pinching applied to a hindlimb contralateral to the 5-HT measurement site. The aim of the present study was to determine whether intra-CeA 5-HT release responses to cutaneous stimulation were altered in an animal model of neuropathic pain induced by ligation of the left L5 spinal nerve. In anesthetized neuropathic pain model rats, stroking of the left hindlimb increased 5-HT release in the CeA, whereas stroking of the right hindlimb decreased it. Meanwhile, pinching of the left hindlimb increased intra-CeA 5-HT release irrespective of stimulus laterality. In conclusion, the present study demonstrated that intra-CeA 5-HT release responses to cutaneous stimulation are altered in an animal model of neuropathic pain.journal articl
departmental bulletin pape
