WYBRANE ASPEKTY ZARZĄDZANIA BEZPIECZEŃSTWEM W TRANSPORCIE KOLEJOWYM
Get PDFRail transport safety management requires a comprehensive approach that includes legal regulations, advanced technologies, staff training and constant monitoring of the number and structure of accidents, incidents and events. The aim of the study isto show the scope of rail transport safety management. The analysis was carried out based on data from the Office of Rail Transport and the Central Statistical Office. The study analyzed the number and structure of rail accidents as well as the causes of accidents, incidents and rail events. The analysis covered the years 2017-2022. The analysis showed that the accident measure, which is the ratio of the number of accidents to the size of operational work, decreased from 2.56 to 1.89 in the years 2017-2022. At the same time, in the same period, the number of incidents increased from 1256 to 1642. The statistical analysis also showed that there is a significant positive correlation between the number of rail incidents and events and operational work in rail passenger transport. Investing in research and development of new technologies and solutions that improve safety is key to the continuous improvementof safety management. New technologies, such as artificial intelligence and data analysis, can significantly improve the ability to predict and respond to threats. Those responsible for the organization and operation of rail transport should strive to continuouslyimprove safety management systems.Zarządzanie bezpieczeństwem w transporcie kolejowym wymaga kompleksowego podejścia, które obejmuje regulacje prawne, zaawansowane technologie, szkolenia personelu oraz stałe monitorowanie liczby i struktury wypadków, incydentów i zdarzeń. Celem opracowania jest ukazanie zakresu zarządzania bezpieczeństwem w transporcie kolejowym. Analizy dokonano w oparciuo dane Urzędu Transportu Kolejowego oraz dane GUS. W opracowaniu analizie poddano liczbę i strukturę wypadków kolejowych, a także przyczyny powstawania wypadków, incydentów i zdarzeń kolejowych. Analizą objęto lata 2017--2022. Dokonana analiza wykazała, iż miernik wypadków, będący relacją liczby wypadków do wielkości pracy eksploatacyjnej, w latach 2017-2022 obniżył się 2,56 do 1,89. Równocześnie w tym samym okresie liczba incydentów zwiększyła się z 1256 do 1642. Analiza statystyczna wykazała także, iż pomiędzy liczbą incydentów i zdarzeń kolejowych a pracą eksploatacyjną w kolejowym transporcie pasażerskim występujeistotna dodatnia korelacja. Inwestowanie w badania i rozwój nowych technologii i rozwiązania poprawiające bezpieczeństwo jest kluczowe dla ciągłego doskonalenia zarządzania bezpieczeństwem. Nowe technologie, takie jak sztuczna inteligencja i analiza danych, mogą znacznie poprawić zdolność do przewidywania i reagowania na zagrożenia. Osoby odpowiedzialne za organizację i funkcjonowanie transportu kolejowego powinny dążyć do ciągłego doskonalenia systemów zarządzania bezpieczeństwem

This explains the presence of manipulative political songs, which played a considerable role in Hitler Youth activities. The messages they conveyed were seen as important social values and created a ideal personality, i.e. an individual with a strong will and fortitude, willing to make sacrifices, at the same time intellectually and uncritically obedient and committed to the community. Get PDFThis article discusses the depreciation of masculinity in the 20th century by using the example of the creation of male protagonists in Olga Tokarczuk’s novel Prawiek i inne czasy (Primeval and Other Times). The author introduces the issue by describing the civilisational and moral changes at the beginning of the 20th century. He points to the disruptions in the patriarchal world order that resulted from political events such as world wars and emancipation movements. The analyses demonstrate that Tokarczuk’s novel features many male characters who represent variant types of nonhegemonic masculinity. They withdraw from the social roles assigned to them by tradition. The researcher analyses examples of weak, mutilated, degenerated, and degenerate masculinity, often subordinated. Furthermore, he notes that the creations of the male protagonists in the novel under analysis are misandrist in their descriptive parts.

Get PDFFor several years now, falcon-robots have been successfully implemented to deter birds flying over the airport. These are remotely controlled flying devices that resemble the appearance, color, and flying style of a peregrine falcon that emit a specific sound. The implementation of this type of new airport devices takes place at different latitudes with the use of traditional forms, i.e. peregrine falcons. These new devices are slowly gaining the market due to their efficiency, cost, functionality, and lack of physical fatigue. It can be expected that this positive trend in this area will spread quickly and become more massive soon. We need to create a legal system so that these robotic birds can start working at our airports.Od kilku lat z powodzeniem wdrażane są sokoły-roboty do odstraszania ptaków przelatujących nad lotniskiem. Są to zdalnie sterowane urządzenia latające, przypominające wyglądem, kolorem oraz stylem latania sokoła wędrownego, które emitują specyficzny dźwięk. Tego typu nowe urządzenia wdrażane są na lotniskach na różnych szerokościach geograficznych – przy równoległym funkcjonowaniu tradycyjnych form, tj. sokołów wędrownych. Nowe urządzenia powoli zdobywają rynek ze względu na swoją skuteczność, niskie koszty, funkcjonalność i brak odczuwania fizycznego zmęczenia. Można oczekiwać, że ten pozytywny trend będzie się szybko rozpowszechniał i niebawem stanie się bardziej masowym. Overcoming challenges posed by intertextuality: Translation strategies employed in Polish and German translations of Agatha Christie’s novel titles
Get PDFThe article investigates problems associated with the translation of selected Agatha Christie’s novel titles containing intertextual references to various literary works including but not limited to Shakespeare’s plays (By the Pricking of My Thumbs) and English nursery rhymes (A Pocket Full of Rye). Original English title versions with their respective Polish and German counterparts (with their English back translations) are compared and analysed (Hickory Dickory Dock – Entliczek pentliczek – Die Kleptomanin). Translation challenges involved in rendering titles encompassing intertextual elements are identified and deliberated on in more detail. Strategies employed by translators to render the titles are established (equivalence, literal translation, adaptation). The study shows that the strategy of adaptation is applied when it is not possible to replicate intertextuality in translation. Title versions rendered with the use of adaptation allude to other significant elements in the plot to maintain the titlenovel interface

Drawing on the cognitive theory of metaphor formed by George Lakoff and Mark Johnson, this paper attempts not only to describe the concrete realisation of the orientational metaphor of the up-down type in the context of ceremonial symbolism, but also to interpret this metaphor as a certain narrative element in the history narrative that Matuška presents in his essayistic work, and as an element present across different cultures

Tworzenie bibliografii to niekończący się proces, ponieważ nigdy nie można stwierdzić, że znamy wszystkie publikacje na dany temat. Autor omawia historię i terminologię związaną z bibliografią lokalną, a także rozwój bibliografii regionalnych w Polsce. Podkreśla potrzebę stabilizacji i rozwoju bibliografii regionalnych oraz ustalenia jednolitego schematu układu zrębu głównego bibliografii. The article addresses the issue of regional bibliography and its role in documenting publications relating to a specific town or region. Regional bibliography is an important element od bibliographic systems, it is a showcase of a locality, promoting its achvievements in all fields. Creating a bibliography is a neverending process because we can never claim to know all the publications on a given topic. The author discusses the history and terminology related to local bibliography, as well as the development of regional bibliigraphies in Poland. It emphasizes the need to stabilize and develop regional bibliographies and establish a uniform scheme for the layout of the main bibliography

Get PDFThe Literary Institute in Paris was not only a place of literary traditions, but also a home to numerous animals, mainly English cocker spaniels. Dogs, cats, birds – all played a significant role in the lives of the residents of Maisons Laffitte. The animals were treated as family members, and their presence and role were immortalised in photos and personalized decorations within the institute. Strong attachment to animals, anthropomorphism, concern for their wellbeing and emotions, all of these were reflected in daily life and correspondence among the residents. The sense of attachment to animals was incredibly strong, evident in the care of their health and emotional reactions to their deaths. Numerous animal photographs served as a ‘declaration’ of the bond between owners and their pets. Additionally, the decorations in the Institute testified to a deep connection with animals, materialising the memory of them. The article aims to analyse the relationships between ‘Kultura’ members and their collaborators with animals that lived on the institution\u27s premises. Research questions emphasise the role of animals in the residents\u27 lives, especially Jerzy Giedroyc, whether animals were considered an integral part of ‘Kultura’ by collaborators, and characteristics distinguished individual animals.Instytut Literacki w Paryżu to nie tylko miejsce tradycji literackich, ale także dom dla licznych zwierząt, głównie cocker spanieli angielskich. Psy, koty, ptaki – wszystkie odgrywały istotną rolę w życiu mieszkańców Maisons-Laffitte. Zwierzęta były traktowane jak członkowie rodziny, a ich obecność i rola były uwieczniane na zdjęciach czy w personalizowanych ozdobach w przestrzeniach Instytutu. Silne przywiązanie do zwierząt, antropomorfizacja, troska o ich dobrostan i emocje, to wszystko znalazło odzwierciedlenie w codziennym życiu oraz korespondencji między mieszkańcami. Uczucie przywiązania do zwierząt było niezwykle silne, co wyrażało się w trosce o ich zdrowie i emocjonalnych reakcjach na ich śmierć. Liczne fotografie zwierząt były „deklaracją” więzi między właścicielami a pupilami. Dodatkowo ozdoby w Instytucie świadczyły o głębokim związku ze zwierzętami, materializując pamięć o nich. Artykuł ma na celu analizę relacji członków Instytutu Literackiego i ich współpracowników ze zwierzętami w siedzibach instytucji. Pytania badawcze obejmują kwestie roli zwierząt w życiu mieszkańców, zwłaszcza Jerzego Giedroycia, czy według współpracowników zwierzęta były integralną częścią „Kultury” oraz jakie cechy wyróżniały poszczególne zwierzęta
