Searching form the Model of Human Facial Expressions and its Implementation inMATLAB and Simulink Environments
Get PDFThe publication contains selected research results on the creation of a neural model of human facial expressions along with its implementation in the MATLAB and Simulink environments using the library called Deep Learning Toolbox. The model was generated as an object to recognize selected human faces and emotional states based on visual data recorded on the human face in real time. The study was placed against the background of available literature on the analysis of facial expressions and emotion classification methods. In addition to the concept of the original solution, the assumptions of the research experiment were given, a method for measuring facial expressions was selected for the experimental conditions, and a set of data was developed for training a neural model of the facial expression system with their preparation for ANN learning. Ultimately, various artificial neural networks were trained to model the facial expression system and sensitivity and comparative tests were performed in Simulink to, among others: assess the quality of the model in relation to real data. Very high results of ANN training of the facial expression system model were obtained (MSE on the order of 10−14, R close to 1), as well as relatively high model quality relative the facial expression system, measured, among others, average relative error, the value of which was several percent. However, in terms of prediction effectiveness, because of the obtained results, which are not very high for the assumed high measurement accuracies, the research that has been started is continued

Get PDFThe article attempts to present the problem of girls’ access to education in Leszno until the end of the 18th century. The issue was described based on the scant sources that have survived from that period in the history of schools and indirectly – on the basis of women’s biographies and data on the books they owned. It has been shown that from 1638 Lutheran girls had the opportunity to attend schools teaching at the elementary level; these were mainly so-called Winkelschulen. Two educated women were distinguished: the poet Anna Memorata and the visionary Krystyna Poniatowska, who were definitely above the standards of the time.Artykuł podejmuje próbę przedstawienia problemu dostępu dziewcząt do edukacji w Lesznie do końca XVIII wieku. Zagadnienie opisano, opierając się na skąpych źródłach, jakie z tego okresu zachowały się do dziejów szkół oraz pośrednio – na podstawie życiorysów kobiet i danych dotyczących posiadanych przez kobiety książek. Wykazano, że od 1638 roku dziewczęta luterańskie miały możliwość uczęszczania do szkół nauczających na elementarnym poziomie; były to głównie tak zwane szkoły pokątne (Winkelschulen). Wyróżniono dwie wykształcone kobiety: poetkę Annę Memoratę i wizjonerkę Krystynę Poniatowską, które zdecydowanie wyrastały ponad ówczesne standardy

Autor omawia problem korupcji w Polsce, koncentrując się na działalności dwóch głównych organów powołanych do jej zwalczania: Centralnego Biura Antykorupcyjnego (CBA) oraz Najwyższej Izby Kontroli (NIK). Autor zwraca uwagę na obszary szczególnie narażone na korupcję, takie jak administracja publiczna, służba zdrowia oraz procesy wyborcze. Wnioski wskazują, że mimo istniejących przepisów prawnych i działań podejmowanych przez CBA i NIK, korupcja w Polsce nadal stanowi poważny problem z powodu braku systematycznych działań rządu oraz wysokiej tolerancji społecznej dla tego zjawiska.The aim of the article is to present the concept, activities, and specificity of the Central Anticorruption Bureau (CBA) and the Supreme Audit Office (NIK) in the fight against corruption in Poland. The author discusses the problem of corruption in Poland, focusing on two main objectives of combating: the Central Anticorruption Bureau (CBA) and the Supreme Audit Office (NIK). The author draws attention to risks of corruption, such as public administration, health care and electoral procedures. The conclusions indicate that despite legal regulations and actions taken by the CBA and NIK, corruption in Poland is still a problem due to the lack of systematic actions and the high social risk for this type of activities

Get PDFThe article discusses the concept of surveillance capitalism, as developed by Shoshana Zuboff, which she presents as a new form of economic order with significant negative consequences for the social order. Zuboff\u27s concept of instrumental power sheds new light on the issues of power and control in contemporary society, particularly in relation to the tension between instrumental power and traditional (especially democratic) control structures. It highlights the implications of its global nature and the problems associated with decision-making automation based on algorithms. An essential element of Zuboff\u27s analysis is the exploration of the negative consequences of this new form of power for the functioning of individuals within society. The description of these consequences, both at the systemic and individual levels, can be seen as a mapping of threats that are critical from the perspective of security studies.Artykuł zawiera omówienie koncepcji kapitalizmu inwigilacji (kapitalizmu nadzoru) autorstwa Shoshany Zuboff ujmowanego przez nią jako nowa forma porządku ekonomicznego o poważnych, negatywnych konsekwencjach dla ładu społecznego. Koncepcja władzy instrumentalnej sformułowana przez Zuboff rzuca nowe światło na problematykę władzy i kontroli we współczesnym społeczeństwie i problem relacji pomiędzy władzą instrumentalną a tradycyjnymi (zwłaszcza demokratycznymi) strukturami kontroli, zwraca uwagę na implikacje jej globalnego charakteru, problemy związane z automatyzacją decyzji w oparciu o algorytmy. Istotnym elementem analiz Zuboff jest prześledzenie negatywnych konsekwencji rozwoju nowej formy władzy dla funkcjonowania jednostek w społeczeństwie.
